Khumjung is a small monastery village located above the Namche Bazaar located about 85 miles northeast of Kathmandu.is the largest Sherpa village in Khumbu. Lying at the altitude of 3,790 meters Khumjung school was built by Sir Edmund Hillary's Himalayan Trust in 1961.
