Irvine Beach and Harbourside area at night by drone. This was the night after a particularly stunning display of the Northern Lights and it was supposed to be visible again. It wasn't, but loads of folk flocked to the darkness of the beach park area to try and see it. May 2024.

Explore Arran - Giants Graves & Glenashdale Falls Walk - With Drone Footage
Просмотров 627 месяцев назад
Including drone footage! One of my favourite walks on the Isle of Arran, Glenashdale Falls and the Giants Graves. The falls themselves is a straightforward walk up and back down but to extend it by an extra mile or so, follow the signs to the Giants Graves which turns the walk into a circuit so you don't have to come back the way you went up. Stunning views over the Firth of Clyde await and onl...
Explore Arran - Clauchland Hills / Dun Fionn Walk

Clauchland Hills or Dun Fionn is an easily accessible circular walk on the Isle of Arran's east coast situated between Brodick and Lamlash. This video follows Storm (insta: at husky.storm) on one of her favourite island walks and shows some of the route which gives fantastic views up and down the island's coastline. Mainly consisting of gravel forestry roads, it also has a portion of narrower p...
Old Irvine Ayrshire 1967 - Irvine to Dreghorn drive

Original film was taken on cine film at a rate of one frame every half second to give the effect of being sped up. This footage has been slowed down but is slightly jumpy as a result of the original frame rate. Route taken below. Filmed by Andrew and Mae Blackley - 1967. Route: Townhead - Past Mill Rd - over the river Annick (the house on the right is still there), on the left is Roseholm Farm,...

Moment has passed but the memories remain
Brilliant!
All that Ale and lack of deodorant , plus the many many deep fried mars bars consumed as well as the overbearing reek of eggy farts and Woodbine smoke would make yer eyebrows wither .
High % of Ladas in Irvine due to magnum motors in ayr road ,also seen an FSO Polonez ,brings back memories
My great grandfather is honoured on the saltcoats memorial. 24685 :PRIVATE THOMAS GRIER: ROYAL SCOTS FUSILIERS. he is buried in Chapelle military cemetery , Lacoutre France .
So many good memories of Irvine from the 70s to the 90s. Used to be a great place to live. Now it's like every other town on the west coast...
When they still climbed the greasy pole at the miramas ….sad times we live in now
Love Ayrshire and the history about an all old film a n photos i come from Essex every year X
Why are the horses at the celtic end and the rangers end
Тифози😂😂😂
Must've been a Sunday morning Nae junkies either
A boom town in the 80s and 90s Now a ghost town No shop No pubs Nothing to do
Mary Mass was too Catholic for the Duke of Eglinton.
Excellent shots 👌 Liked and subscribed 👍 Greetings 😁
5.58 says it all !!! Come ahead
Yeah, it looks easy when it's that calm inside the breakwater.
❤did my bit from 1954/7 and would not have missed it for the World.great bunch of mates and posted to tampin Negri sembilan hq of Queens régiment.also spent time in selarang barracks changi singapore.i believe we lost about 7 men from enemy action during this time.
My grandad was a coal miner from Patna Ayrshire.
Grew up going down here in 70’s right up until it closed great memories, but now the place nothing for kids nothing no swings or anything look at Ayr but typical council just want money for building homes .
It was Rangers who caused this riot that why celtic fought back.. stupid and thugs rangers fans... well done celtic won the cup.. I remember this as I watched on tv..
Trying to find where in Ipoh D Company were based 1956. Making a pilgrimage next year to mark 70 years since my fathrr started his National Service.
I have some info which may help you if you want to pass me an email address.
Historyhusky, did you get my email address? I bought the book about your dads time in Malaya, a great read and a pleasure to see all the photographs many more than I have but must make wonderful memories to the stories I'm sure your dad told. Still hoping that you may be able to pass on some information of D Companies whereabouts in 1956. Many thanks, Drew Keir.
@@akeir6061 sorry Dew, I haven’t got it.
My home town and where I was born. This was 2 months into the pandemic hence hardly aybody walking around. Makes me nostalgic because at this time I thought I was building a beautiful relationship with someone but it never survived the duration of the pandemic. Imagine being nostalgic about a bloody pandemic, well we all have our own stories I guess. Pity you couldn't show more of the harbour and coast area though.
Pity none if the old town nor the beautiful river side were shown.
I use to live at 118 opposite the garage
♥
Two sects of the same religion battering fook out of each other. How very Monty Python.
Fantastic views. Enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.
Many thanks! ❤️
Proddies, canny take them anywhere!
Grew up in Irvine. 1979 old old caley rd. It was Great. People don't live in the past....They forget...
I'd love to go here ,I get goosebumps watching videos like yours 😍 thank you for sharing ❤little train track is cute to think a train ran there once ? Or am I wrong lol
Thank you so much for your kind comments. The track would have been used in the past to move the granite to the boat to take it to the mainland. With heavy machinery now available, the track is now redundant but nice to see it’s been left as part of the islands heritage. Probably not a train as such but more likely horse drawn carts.
@@historyhusky id love to go I hear people take people thank you
I’ve only ever seen the Strathclyde council logo on the front of a bin 😂
Madness that 43 and a half years later fans of Scottish football still can’t have a drink because of these two.
Back in the 90s, Saltcoats flooded again, some people blamed it on global warming. The flooding here from the 1920s was long before the first interstate highway or motorway or jet travel….
Well worth watching.
My wife stayed in Afton Court when it was first opened.
The Rangers fans were saved from a real beating by the rescue of their police cavalry.
I remember seeing the drone shooting this , can see me and my boys in the garden watching it 😂
I left that school in Nov 2001....this makes ne feel so old 😂
Many memories of The Magnum Centre 1976 - 2016. I went there once when I was a kid and loved the Pool outside. I even went on the Soft Adventure Play.
Proves modernisation is not a good thing.
Thank you for your service in Malaya
Bring back the Bevy
.
All the irvine high flats have now been demolished.
Canny take getting beat remember Europe rangers st Petersburg at Manchester yous cant take two beatings
Why did the rangers fans start the riot
The saddest part for me was the fact that one of the horses got very badly cut in the face by a thrown bottle, I still cry when I see this.
The cottage next to garage is derelict and the car wash was a house at the corner amazing 😮
3I served in an Armoured car Regiment in Ipoh between 1958 to 1960. What memories you have brought back. Didn't travel as extensively as you, mainly Ipoh, Taiping, Sungei Siput. My son took me back there as a surprise, as he knew ex-servicemen often wanted to go back to their old military haunts. Thoroughly enjoyed the 4 videos. Take care.
Sounds very much like the places my dad (Andrew Blackley) travelled to Terry. I’m sure it was MT (Military Transport) regiment he was in, for a while anyway. Glad you got the chance to go back too. Thank you for your kind words.
Thank you for all the heroes that fought in Malaya.
