It’s not homelessness, it’s mental illnesses and drug addiction.

Its not just the drug addicted. People can't afford the high cost of housing and food. Alot of help out there but it won't get you housing. I'm saddened that there's streets you can't walk down. It used to be safe here not so much now. I have been robbed of every piece of jewelry I had. 50,000 or more. Things that cannot be replaced. The consequences are nothing to them. But to me it's heart breaking 💔 😢

Folks most of these are caused by drugs. Even if you work minimum wage in Victoria you still would not be homeless. It would not be easy to enjoy like at that wage but it is doable.

Maybe don't film people. I live here too and it sucks but you can't just film those guys for no reason

Yes it’s getting bad here.The housing situation is bad rents are skyrocketing and you have to work 3 jobs just to survive Also drugs have been decriminalized so all the homeless and living right downtown sitting there openly using drugs. Businesses are shutting down because they are losing so much money. All of our beautiful parks are ruined or full of scary people using drugs. Not somewhere you can enjoy spending time. I live Victoria BC. It used to be one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. Trudeau has done absolutely NOTHING to help any of this they just try to focus peoples attention on stupid things that shouldn’t be a priority like bike lanes all over the city. They even tried housing all of them but they still would be on the streets openly using drugs or they would absolutely destroy anywhere they lived and cause problems for anybody near by. When you see someone shooting up or jerking their sausage and your little kid asked mommy what is that person doing? It’s a nightmare!

However, taking a more compassionate and constructive approach can lead to better outcomes.
