As a very young child (I'd estimate 5), me, my older brother (7) and mum went on a street party coach trip to the BBC studios one evening to see an episode being recorded. We were the only 2 children & the Security tried to stop us kids from entering, suggesting that we'd misbehave and the microphones above the audience (to capture our laughter) would be ruined by us. My mother did not mess with the gentleman, advising him that her boys were well behaved, the tickets did not exclude children and our coach was not due to return for several hours, so where were we to go?? As we queued outside the studio doors, many of the cast walked past us to the studio, and being the only children, they stopped and talked to us, these included Blakey, Stan, Olive, Jack and Aurther. Looking back, I regret not having asked for their autographs (but at 5, possibly didn't know of such things, let alone had pen & paper). During the filming, we were shown some 'previously filmed outside sections' like street scenes and bus driving scenes, in chronological order to the episode on large black and white TV's, to capture our laughter. Between sets, Stan would come out and tell (adult) jokes to entertain us. I was too young to understand them. This was an amazing experience at that age, and at 62 still remember it well. I'm sure I will remember the episode if I see it again.
I forgot about the cat in the series

going onto part two, they dont have the the louder Ted Heath music
"If he doesn't have a lighthouse, how can he have a granny?" Same plot as Will Hay's most famous film "Oh Mr Porter!", but equally, brilliantly funny. Filmed at the Gainsborough Studio in Poole Street, Islington. Not to be confused with Cannon and Ball's dreadful re-make "Boys in Blue", directed by Val Guest, one of the original writers on "Ask A Policeman"
Obvs he is going to Juv.
Never get fed up of these. Life in the UK in the 1990s...I like the one where Jack and Blakey end up at an all night rave 🎉🎉
Best old comedy 😊
I always thought Doris Hare was the original "Mum". Well, ya live and learn!
Mom! Dad! There is someone sneaking around in the garden!! No it is a documentary. He is doing great work, it will be on youtube soon. Allright Yeeeaaaiiiih!!!!! (in an enthusiastic voice) Thanks for sharing this neighbourhood, Syers Green, it looks really sweet there. And what about these cute sheeps just chilling around 🤩
😂 yes I do like this village (Long Buckby) it's a large village and is pretty much self contained with almost everything you'd need, it has shops, pubs, a train station, library, takeaways, restaurants, places of employment (Warehouses and industrial estate) parks and woodland, a Gym, gift shops, schools, football club ... it's got it all 🙂 and of course cute sheep's 😂
When Britain was still Great.
His family was a terrible drain on him.
👍👍Thanks for posting. p.s. I have half a dozen follow up posts resulting from our exchange of comments on previous posts of mine which seem to have gone undetected. The oldest one was the answer to your question about Murcott Mill B&B access being private. Also another example of watching the world from a bridge, taking shots of people without permission and colour versus black and white.
Ohh man I'm sorry, I never knowingly miss or ignore your comments, I've just checked and I can see it, didn't get a notification on it 👍🏻
@@TheManWithNoName. 👍👍
The only episode featuring Rudolph Walker 😞 Walker was dropped from the show after the pilot due to concerns that a Black actor would negatively impact ratings. Walker later confirmed that he was told this 😞😞
The British before the Sharia blitz.
Brilliant
The good old days when it was ok to blink without someone screaming prejudice
seeing that monkey at the end brought back some memories I had completely forgotten about
Arthur and Olive dynamic really deserved a spin off series.
Smut , toilet humour , alcohol. 100% foundation for what was once The British Empire... still. . Progress ? Look at the state of it now !!! Sharia , Turkish Money Laundering Barbers ,Pubs all closing , traditional communities moved out of the cities , everyone dressed in black , taxed to hell , ripped off by the government , no freedom of speach , no arrest for Child pro$titi@n gangs , no trust , only fear ... oh to go back to smut , toilet humour and normalisation of alcaholism.
I could write a better script. Awful acting too.
That was always good for a bad nat west! a Romeo and Juliette!
The bloke from the news was an airline pilot in the radio control episode.
None of ya woke bull crap back then. The good o'l days! Cue the snowflakes ❄️
Grew up watching On the Buses. 😂🤡🚬
12:32 Pity there was no puddle we could have had matching “selfie” shots. I was waiting for you to replicate another shot crossing a harvested field on a footpath but the necessary angles for a steps effect didn’t line up. Thanks for posting. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxnaHFlgGNiBCJQdzAS5iu9p7nXKxQoT9k
Fantastic show! One of UK's best!
Good old pre woke comedy
Pure and beautiful 'BRITISH' comedy at its finest. Always laughed my bits off to Reg, Jack and Blakey or the Inspector (I'll have you Butler).
Blakey got all the moves on the dance floor ahhhhhhh Butler Olive and her passion killers
Brillliant genus comedy that the PC brigade would have banned nowadays
This episode reminds me little Arthur will be there in a year or 2 ;) great show, timeless. Not long after this id have been conceived , wow
Things were so much better in those days,
Funny really my dad was a bus driver this tv series always reminded me of him
CHEERS from AUSTRALIA - thanks for this.
On the buses are so very funny. 😆 😂 🤣
Thanks for the guided walk. Seems like you do quite long walks in every video. Not know if I asked before, but do you know, somewhat, how long these walks are? Hope your upcoming weekend will be fine and fun.
Well the walks would definitely take less time if I wasn't filming them, but I think this one from start to finish, 6 parts took me about 4 hours I think, if I hadn't been filming I'd say it would of took me about 2 hours ..... but some of my walks take 8 to 10 hours .. The one where I visited Catesby Viaduct and Fawsley Hall for example, I started that at about 430 am and finished that around 1pm if I remember correctly, I'd say that for sure filming the walks doubles the time it takes
@@TheManWithNoName. Many thanks for the answer and reply. Often watching your videos and seeing you film far away into the distant and you say "There was where I started.." And knowing it is not a stright walk but it goes left to right etc. Hope your weekend will be fine.
@@pekinoboI love it when i reach a point in the walk where its elevated enough to see off into the distance enough to see the start point .... have a good week 👍🏻
👍👍 Thanks for posting.

I love On The Buses. 2 of my favourites are the episodes when Stan got drunk on his own home brew, and when he was dancing 'The Shake' with a girl in the canteen. Priceless. 🤣🤣🤣
In Australia in the early 70's I remember watching 'Please Sir!' followed by 'On the Buses' and then 'The Benny Hill Show' on Thursday nights. Friday nights were for 'The Two Ronnies' and Monty Python's Flying Circus'. I had no idea I was living through the greatest era of TV. Same could also be said about music from the period too. I barely watch any TV now.
Woke rubbish now
Even the News on TV is garbage these days. I only use the telly as a screen for RUclips.
Same, I only use my tv nowadays to watch comedy DVD box sets like Dad's Army. Father Ted, Porridge, Open all Hours, Still Game etc. As MAte925 and ColinI9018 say, TV is now woke rubbish and garbage News which is all full of doom and gloom.
Pot Black on Friday night 8pm.

Am 35 , my mother always watched them when a was younger ❤️ on the buses 🚌 👌❤️
People have forgotten how racist and sexist the tv in the 1970s was.
So...?
I love British comedy!
Greetings from a very snowy Cincinnati Ohio! Sounds like a man! It was breakfast time and service was slow.
The power that working people had back then. Now only train drivers have it.
Blakey was still a work in progress. Quite affable here even referring to Stan and Jack by their first names.
Love thy neighbour was good also.
