It varies by province. In the Maritimes, with JDM vehicles between 15 and 25 years old it has to be insured through facility insurance. I used Westland Insurance brokers. It comes to about $1250/year for each JDM vehicle but that is only basic liabliity coverage with no comprehensive. Older than 25 years old and not for daily driving you can get calssic insurance from Hagerty Insurance.

The crv rotors and pads are interchangeable without doing thr calipers but the rotors are 2mm thinner so you might get a bit of brake shuttering.

The car is heavily customized. The chassis is an 86. He did everything to simplify the exterior. Even filled and smoothed the rocker panels

I only spoke on what I know about the vehicle from my time with it. This one has under 25,000 miles and has obviously been very reliable for the owner. Honestly wasn't really aware they had reliability issues. The LS platform in general is known for being traditionally reliable.

That's a junkyard crown vic chassis and the body is all reproduction pieces from the company that sponsors the stunt team. This is then marketing their bits for people to keep chargers on the road

Nothing original on that. They build them from junk yard Crown Vics and are sponsored by the sheet metal company that stamps the new panels.

Nope. Strictly 15 years old minimum if it isn't built for the USDM/canadian market.....even if it's identical to local cars. It's annoying.

Exactly. Stupid rules If it was sold in another market other than the USA its deemed a grey market import and has to wait until its 15.

The c5 Z06 is my dream car. When I get time again I want to restart my trading up series. So far I've traded from a 1:18 scale model to $350 worth of lawn mowers/cash. Not sure what's next but when I have time I'm going to get after it to hopefully get my dream car!

Run-flats is the alternative they chose.

No metal belt or cone drives in Toyotas e-CVT. It uses a planetary gear system, making it completely different than conventional CVTs. With fluid changes they're known to be reliable which is a nice difference.

Finding a trusted mechanic is so valuable. I'm very fortunate to be friends with a couple I got to know through car meets here in New Brunswick.

I actually just ended up ordering rear brakes for the estima and used the method I described to find them relatively cheap. Pads and rotors for the rear from Amazon using the oem parts numbers I found on megazip/amayama for about ~$400

We decided to just go with the OEM Toyota rack and hopefully this fixes the problem so we can have our Van back and running. Thanks for all your help, I'm sure it will be useful in the future when we need parts again. Also, you saved me a ton of time with your other video Hybrids on Hard Mode. I was in the middle of installing heated seats when this tire problem arose. Your video showed how to pop the top part of the console off (part with cupholders), lickety split. I would have started to dissemble other parts to access that if not for you vid. Thanks!!!

@libby5221 awe! Thanks for the feedback. That's exactly why I made that video. There wasn't much available for the hybrid estima....in English anyways. We still have the estima and use it almost everyday to haul our kids around. Probably doing a video of a brake job next month as I need to do that to pass our annual safety inspection.

I've seen on some forums for both 5th and 6th gens and C7 Corvettes complaining about the Cylinder deactivation but the real failure statistic seems very low

If you want to minimize any potential issues you can do an LS3 conversion kit (removes the AFM components) but most people don't actually seem to have any issues with the L99's valve train.
