I'm really grateful this video exposes some of the the health risks caused by eggs, and the suffering of chickens. People need to know though, that's there's no truly cruelty free eggs (except possibly ones given away or sold by people looking after rescued 'spent hens' ....) also eggs can no longer be considered a healthy food ....regardless of what the chicken is fed on, more on that later. The Soil Association can still certify flocks up to 2,000 bird. Of course its better for consumers that organic standards don't allow preventative use of antibiotics BUT with flocks of that sizes its arguably necessary for welfare....so there's the contradiction - and of course, even with organic systems, male chicks are still killed at a day or so old and 'spent' hens are slaughtered. I've seen enough coverage of the slaughter process to have nightmares. Its truly barbaric. The most well known brands of mayonnaise now make plant based mayo. You can make easily make cakes without eggs, other ingredients, wildly available, cause cakes to rise - there's loads of recipes online. You can buy cakes made without eggs - in nearly every supermarket - check out the free from section. The demand for plant based products now means that the range, quality and availability of almost everything that was once made only with eggs is available. Giving up eggs is also good for your health (see below) I love Asda's OMV burger mayo....but I also love Hellman's plant based mayo too...we're spoilt for choice, so please think about going egg free. Here's why eggs are NOT healthy.... An Italian study found people who ate four or more eggs a week had a 75 per cent higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than people who ate just one egg a week or less (Ruggiero et al., 2021). People who ate two - four eggs had a 43 per cent higher risk. One study by Huang et al., 2020 found that substituting just three per cent of daily energy intake from egg protein with plant-based protein can lead to 26-28 per cent lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and 25-33 per cent lower risk of fatal stroke. Replacing eggs with plant based protein can also lower your risk of getting cancer. One study found that substituting just three per cent of daily energy intake from egg protein with plant-based protein can reduce the risk of dying from cancer by 15-17 per cent (Huang et al., 2020). There are so many studies drawing the same conclusion - I can't put them all here - but below are refences for the two I've put in. References Huang J et al. 2020. Association between plant and animal protein intake and overall and cause specific mortality. JAMA Internal Medicine. 180 (9) 1173-1184. Ruggiero E et al. Moli-sani Study Investigators. 2021. Egg consumption and risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality in an Italian adult population. European Journal of Nutrition. 60 (7) 3691-3702.

I appreciate what this guy is trying to do but firstly we have all been eating gm food for years it’s only because of packaging requirements changing to ensure informed decision to consumers but if his concern is what an animal is fed and kept before being slaughtered it’s a moot point as just like gm this is how our meat/dairy has been farmed for years and we have all eaten it there is no point feeding cows lovely grains and lush grass but as soon as it hits its weight its electrocuted at the temples and hung on a conveyor belt unchecked on whether still breathing then has its head chopped off whilst other cows lined up are watching thrn I think you should rethink your stance

Just came across your video. I'm 50 and always thought I ate quite well, as a Mum of 4, and a carer to my 28 year old Autistic Son, I try to cook healthy meals for him too. But my youngest who's almost 22 is really into his health so looks at products a lot more than I ever have. We're slowly learning together, we have Aldi, Lidl, Farmfoods, and Iceland close. And my youngest works at Asda so he gets a discount which is always a bonus. He's really into his nuts and grapes, yoghurt and berries. Porridge for breakfast with dark chocolate. I'll definitely show him your video tomorrow. So glad I found your channel. Jenny from West Yorkshire 😊
