My father was of German heritage, and I learned to make springerle for him when I was about 20. They are so unlike the usual American cookie, and he loved them very much. I learned to make other German cookies as well, mostly for Christmas.

The Zenders chicken was better. The Bavarian Inn chicken was okay, but everything else served with it was so cold, it genuinely ruined the entire dish.

She uses ivory gel in her famous coleslaw too.

Sadly I was there this July 2021 and the chicken was very dry. Everything else was delicious we had the roast beef with the sauce on top delicious the potatoes were fantastic! The room was beautiful with everyone in their German costumes was so much fun.

I want to go back again so bad, it's been a few years.

Best Root Beer in town!

I remember my dad use to talk about real root beer when I started started driving back in the 70's. I think he use to love root beer but he rarely would drink the popular brands at the time, Hires and A & W. He would tell me that today (70's) they don't make real root beer anymore. Now it's just chemicals and back in his day they used real roots and I think bark to make root beer. I always wanted to try his real root beer to compare what available nowadays.
