Splatoon 3 was insanely bad, the patch notes, only 2 years of content, garbage weapons, garbage player skill, buggy mess when it launched, very small maps, garbage kits and special. I absolutely despise this game and ive been playing splatoon since splatoon 1 and im insanely disappointed, when the game was released i was hyped just for the new content oh my god everything is literally bad to the point its unplayable including the splatfest since they were insanely rigged

why is it so bad if I get 14 kills every turf wars and win most of them

I used to main an Aerospray RG to the point of “Superfresh!”, and then I switched to the Splattershot. During Grand Fest, I decided to go try my Aerospray again, and goddamn was I disappointed about how it was a short-range weapon all along, not being able to hold a fight without being splatted immediately. And the way I praised it before…

My life is more like the splatfests of splatoon 3: I get the sneak peak by coping before there’s anything to cope about and sometimes my coping mechanisms work in tandem with some of my stressors as self-deprecating humour, yet more often than not I just can’t keep up with anything, so in the end those same stressors become my life, therefore letting them get all the splatfest points

This is how it’s been since Mario maker 2. Nintendo has dropped the ball on every online game since then.

The reason why it's not fun for me anymore is Splat3n's kinda been dead since around Zeldafest. On top of that there's lag built into the game. But I think most importantly is because early on I played sporadically as I had no internet and really only played the splatfests, so everyone else got better without me. But on top of that... you can't lawnmower anymore. Sp1atoon? People will get lawnmowered. Spla2n? People get lawnmowered. Splat3n? Well, it worked pretty well the first two splatfests, but after 8 slutty, slutty years it seems the inkfish learned how to stop a lawnmower. Lawnmowing is the best part of Splatoon battles and now that it's gone it's pretty empty! Like all the casual, normal gamers are gone instead only salty, sweaty fucks treating this like life or death. I think that's why it's not fun anymore. Well, sorta anyways. I mean the game's still fun *sometimes* but more often than not a lag kill, bad matchmaking, and constant try-hards just make it a total bummer to play.

For me, I think it's due the fact I am barley apart of the community anymore. Back in 2019 with Splatoon 2, I was really Intergrated with the community, but I guess the streamers, friends and communities within the Splatoon community that I was a part of just started to fizzle out and left me on my own around 2021. At the same time, I also started playing Fall Guys and getting into that games community which didn't help as I was focusing on another game now. I have tried contacting the friends I used to play Splatoon with, but they are all super busy with school or work as its not 2020 lockdown anymore, and I have been busy with work and the mismatched time zones just caused it for us to never be free at the same time anymore. So basically, I just have no one to play with nor really in the community anymore which just makes the game less fun for me.

I agree with you, Very epic, Splatoon 3 isn't the perfect Splatoon game, but still good at the same time. God, I hope Nintendo will do better for Splatoon 4 than 3 in the future. Since Splatoon 3 is the last Splatoon game of inklings vs octarians saga, I think Splatoon 4 will have a new, fresh, and unique start with tropical/exotic environments, new species that's related to allies/heroes or foes/villains, more clothing options, playable idols (such as Squid Sisters, Off The Hook, and Deep Cut), new and original story mode that doesn't involve with octarians stealing the zapfish, new idols (boy and girl band), new and original maps, unique hairstyles for both inklings and Octolings (alongside with the new species), unique clothing based off from Splatoon manga/dolls, better online servers, darker tone, new and original enemies (including the main antagonist of Splatoon 4) that's alot more threatening and terrifying than octarians, Shifty Station-like stages during Splatfests, more story mode content, Splatfest-like events, glowy fingertips/toes and glowy hairtips, and last but not least, bring back the collaborations for Splatoon 4 (such as amiibo, anime/manga, indie/AA game franchise, and indie animation collaborations)!

My biggest problem with the game is the ranking system. They should have just stuck with how it was in splat 2, it was the ideal ranking system.

I really hope we get rid of the catalogue/season system in Splat 4, as well as going back to two team fests and having stages like shifty stations. 3 isn't abhorrent but imo 2 is much better.

I don't know how to explain it, but 3 felt so much more "fresh"

i think the reason splatoon 3 doesnt work for most is because everyone is constantly playing which = burnout which = people noticing the cracks in the foundation. splatoon 1 & 2 allowed you to play at your own pace and just enjoy the game as it running. 3 is just fomo sludge with the catalog and the fact that you “just had to be there.” you could take a break from the other two games then come back and be perfectly fine, but 3 wants you to always play. even if you dont want to.

3:21 You actually farm a pretty decent amount of gear chunks from salmon run (I know for me at least I'll never run out thanks to salmon run). Though in my case, I played the mode enough to get both 30 gold scales for my legendary cap and golden badges for several of the stages. _Something I cannot recommend anyone ever do_ because holy shit does playing up to 999 rank in less than 2 days expose how this mode was absolutely not built for people to play it for that long in such a short time. Like it's fun, don't get me wrong, but using the same weapons on the same map for so long gets unbelievably repetitive. There's so little variation compared to other PvE games and even other modes in this game, king salmonid don't help at all, and if anything the new night waves make it worse. I don't blame salmon run for not having a full game's worth of content to play, but I will absolutely blame Nintendo for giving tangible incentive for people to play it as if it did.

I'm both surprised and not surprised that of both videos, the one giving praise is the one that has less views. I can appreciate a video like this, since most people - me included - have focused a little too much on the negatives, so it's nice to shine a light on why we love this game so much in the first place. Regardless, extremely well made video. Also love the 'lore' of someone thinking of moving here.

Horrible is the wrong word

Both of these videos have such an amazing style to their speech, feels like actual residents talking about their experience in both the good and the bad. I don't know if you took inspiration from CGP Grey but it sure reminds me of that style of video in the best way.
