I think the better way would be to drill out the rivets pull the carbon off then remover the screw. Then you can just put new rivets in it.
In that way you can’t put in/out the dbkiller easily… that’s why I did it this way…
The drilling worked well, but the weld was too strong and now the inside of the screw is broken. Any tips?
come ci siete riusciti voi??
come faccio a svitare la vite del db killer ...? è saldata
How do you close the hole ? I want to do the same but … we have to close the hole
I bought some black rubber plugs from the famous and cheap Chinese web that fit perfectly to the holes and it looks perfect. Depending on the diameter of the hole that you do obviously. You have different sizes of plugs!
Così non è più omologato
Thank you for the information… I guess nobody knew that… 😅
Hey man! I am doing the same on mine! Thanks for the video. Quick question, the inner part of the exhaust looks loose, doesn’t it come out like this? Because the euro 4 you can remove the DB killer and still have a inner ring
Yep, but not in the Euro5 version! Its a bit different.
i legit just did this like 30 minutes to an hour ago to my SC1-R exhaust and man it sounds so much better DDD:::
You could have just drilled out the rivets on the cap, pulled the carbon off and not drilled it
The thing is that now I can put the dbkiller in or out whenever I want using the screws…
@@diegomorenoechanove1663 that is true
I just cant pull the db killer out, it dosent work
Try to pull while doing a “Z” movement, it will work
Gracias!!
@@manuelalbertidelfresno3675 si, @morenoediego Escribeme por ahi y hablamos
Interested in selling these. I’m looking for a set
I know it’s an older vid but you could’ve just drilled the rivet open, pull the carbon cab of and then losen the screw. So you wouldn’t need to drill into the carbon. The rivets are easy to install again and it will look as it was never touched.
The thing is that now I can put the dbkiller in or out whenever I want using the screws…
Can you recommend the rivets that would best fit?
@@olutobii after you remove the old rivets your best option is to put a rivet in that's not much smaller (as close as possible without having to force it) thanthan the hole but obviously poke through. You would also have to measure the thickness. That will determine the length of your rivet needed
how is the sound? how much louder does it get?
Way much louder!!
Hey is it possible to remove the db killer without damaging the carbon?
Yes, drill out the rivets and take off the carbon end. It's a 4mm drill bit. Just replace the rivets
Bien hecho! The SC1 on the Hyper is already ridiculously loud. Can you post a video comparing sound with and without db killers? Gracias.
I will try to do it! Thanks!
Just got my S1 for my 22 Yamaha MT-09 and that screw is from inside the pipe and just unscrewed it with a 4mm hex but now I'm trying to get the db out but still is not coming out. Should I use a broom stick and push it from inside or just use pliers? It seems so solid layers sticking together and don't want to damage it. Any help would be appreciated
Just pull straight and make some little moves to loosen it. Try to use some WD40 spray or something like that... maybe it's easier
@@diegomorenoechanove1663 Thanks brother
@@robmoss2257 I have the same issue. What did you end up doing?
I hit it in broke all welds this is not coming out
Hi man! How did you remove the weld properly? Thanks!
Just turn the screw! It's hard at first but it will break!
Hi can I know the size off the hole, or the size off the drill bit?
Don't really know the size but I can measure it if you need it. It's about 1 cm diameter
Thx can you do it for me?
How du you get the dB killer out ? I have the Same Exhaust and my screw is out But i can t pull the dB killer out
It's hard but it's possible. It's very tight at first but then it's easier
You just have to drill the rivets, remove the carbon cap then the screw and then put the carbon cap back on and put some new rivets in.😬 You dont have to destroy the carbon cap like you.
The carbon caps are not destroyed and I can put on or off the dbKillers anytime I want... If you drill the rivets it will never be the same that the stock ones... and if you want to put the dbkillers back on you should then drill the rivets again... it's not handy. A lot of exhaust brands have this system...
Amazing work. Very clean. Is it still Street Legal after drilling a hole inside a legal Exhaust ? How did you measure where to start drilling ? Crazy precise work, well done !
It depends on the country I think... I measured it using a caliper! Thank you!
Its Not legal no
You'd have to check your local noise regulations and you would have to measure the noise of the exhaust after the shit was removed. I'm prone to think those heavy regulations are more for Europe but you never know what state or county you live in has without researching. So it could be legal or not depending on your area
It sucks, that i am scared to get caught. I allready have 5 Points in Germany 🤦♂️
Sorry man! Here in Spain we just get a fine but no point penalty for sound...
with how strict its getting i think its worth leaving the db killer in for certain countries, im in the uk where they dont care but since I like touring europe I cba to get pulled over and get a fine and put a downer on the trip so decided to just leave the thing in, still sounds decent
Is removing this worth it? Just got mine today and not gunna lie pretty disappointed that this is what you have to do to your brand new exhaust. No excuse if you ask me
Totally worth it in my opinion... the sound is awesome!
Is it possible to return if necessary?
Yes, of course!!!!
Thanks for the tip! I also have a sc s1 project, I'll do the same as you, but you didn't have any welding to break or anything? Thanks !
You just need to "break" a welding point that is attached to the screw but it's a small point that you will break loosening up the screw.
Is it hard ? I am scared to destroy the exhaust
It's not hard. The carbon fiber is a thin layer
@@diegomorenoechanove1663 yes but how to find the head of the screw
You need to measure to find the spot, then start with a small hole and make it bigger looking and centering the final hole
