A few suggestions for guests, Coombsey, Clarkson and Caleb. If you can put subtitles then Gerald too. Well done Tobes.
Love this! Fun and educational, plus the puppy is sooooo cute 😊
fun with tractors epic
fun with flags better 😮
@@vanok22 haha yes by far. But we are trying. Thank you for your comment 🙏
Класный аппарат, звук о него когбудто поёт.
My sons GCSE's took priority over filming. But the TE20 continental is pretty much ready to roll. Thank you for your question
Ah no bother I'm restoring my own and I've always been intrested in your vids
What about the ferguson te20?
Looks like a nice original major. Will you be going for an oily rag look?
@reachforthesky1849 Thank you. No, we are painting it blue with lime green wheels and grill. These are the colours of the charity 'Tourettes Action' who we raise money for.
You should not tap of slacken off brakes and fit 27/16 unc bolts into thread it holes and turn in alternative until hub is off
Sorry it should be 2 7/16 bolts
Solid vid, greetings from New Zealand
@lolosaulala48 Thank you 😊 hello 🙂
Hi, just discovered an old repair on my TED20 block which is letting a few small drips of water out when tractor is getting up to temperature. How well has your metal filler worked since you repaired please? Thanks.🙂
Did we finish the tractor? Did I miss an episode?
Hi Jay, I'm currently trying to sus out the timing, but everything got put on hold while Oscar studied for his GCSE's (currently sitting) but we will be doing a 'it's finished' video soon. Thank you for following us
That stuck steering .. The answer is use heat. Use a blowtorch to heat up and expand the metal and it will be a lot easier to free up. Any stuck bolt or component…. a blow torch and heat it up.
Thank you. Yes, we have discovered the ol heat it up and let it cool trick. 😎
I knew a man who restored a Mory Minor from a rusty bolt he found in his garden
Haha, classic. Fortunately, we were able to restore 90% of this tractor without any additional parts 👍
Great to see this being renovated, its been in the yard for so long it had become part of the furniture, good luck guys we will keep watching the progress . 👍👍 All at Easterbrooks
That's really kind, thank you all. May I mention Easterbrook in the final 'before/after' video, please?
Use a flat lump of wood on the hub not a screw driver if you don't want to chip the metal 😮
Good idea. Thank you, Nick 😊 🙏
Interesting hitch. From what? And I'm glad that's latex paint... wait, what?
It is the lower linkage pin from a 1947 Ferguson TE-20. Haha, yes, don't worry, the paint tin is empty
What paint number is the paint you are using please.
RAL 6019, sorry for the delay in replying Paul
It needs timed I had the same problem
Thank you Parker. We are working on the timing 😅
Excellent video as always, i do have some original solid front wheels if they're of any interest?
Hi James, thank you. Wow that'd be ace, it depend where you are though?
In North Devon, can post them for you if needed@@FatherandSonTractors
@jamesyeo2947 That's not actually too far for me. How much would you like for them please? We do have some wheels but will need some for the Cancer Research Fergie restoration we will be filming this year 😀
@@FatherandSonTractors not asking much for them, do you have another platform that i can message you on??
@jamesyeo2947 yes by all means send me a message on instagram. Fathersontractors look for the same logo as our RUclips logo. Thank you
You guys made that chore look like fun. Actually everything you guys do looks like fun. It's great to see a father and son working together. Keep it up. We enjoy your videos.
Thank you Jay. We do have good fun 🙂
Recommend ditching the WD40 and getting a can Bulldog BDX.
Thank you, Tides2002. We have never heard of Bulldog BDX, but exited to give it a go 👍
I felt your pain there for a moment. Well done for persevering 😅
Thanks man x
Next time, break both beads first. Then pull the underside bead up into the centre well of the rim. Stretching the top bead over the rim will be much easier.
Thank you 😊
There was no need for the supports inside the wing that wing would have just bolted straight down onto the axel and use plenty of washers I did this with mine and it worked great. Love these videos keep up the good work lads 👍
Thank you Sean
That was the apprentices job when I was young. You are correct about the tube coming out the wrong side.
Haha yes I can see why. Next time, i shall leave Oscar to it!
The sandals ruin it for me 😂
Haha, yes, the safety sandals
Great videos as always, its good to see another continental being saved. not too many about
Thank you James. We are very much enjoying ourselves. Yes we didn't even realise how rare the Z120 was untill after a little research
I'm in the USA and I enjoy watching your videos. I own a Ferguson TO20. Your videos are easy to follow and it looks like you guys are having gun. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you very much Jay. 😊 if you ever need to know anything we haven't covered, please ask, and I shall look in our manual
That's not a proper crack repair on the engine block. Better get it evaluated by an experienced machine shop before you go forward with the restoration
I did speak to an expert who recommended our actions 👍
Try bringing it to a black Smith and get him to fix it
Rather than tap the drum off there is 2 jacking bolt holes there but before you try them give it a good smack between the wheel studs to jarr any rust loose. P.S. The screw driver has a hex to put the spanner on rather than bugger up the handle. Keep going though you are onto it.
Hi Bundy, thank you, I had no idea about the jacking points. I didn't even see it in the manual so great tip. Yes, i have found the hex point on my set so polished it causes a hindrance. My son and I are big fans of your videos 😊
Watch the bonnet,it might be for a 20 diesel and the diesel ones wouldn't fit the tractor properly
Thank you Corrigan. I have heard the difference is so minimal that it should be fine
Wouldn't it be better to remove the tires before restoring the rims? I bet there is rust where the tire is mounted.
Waaay ahead of you Frank. We learned this while trying to remove the old tyres for a video. We are about 5 videos ahead so eventually you'll see our blunder!!
@@FatherandSonTractors Looking forward to see them 😄
During 18 months your son will develop his mechanical skills many steps. A great father and son project as long as you don't give up halfway 🙂
Indeed and we are very much enjoying it. Fortunately, it's not in our nature to give up. Sometimes to our own detriment! 🤣
Here in Norway we had a 1947 Ferguson TE20 that was in general good condition but when moving we decided to save it by giving it away for free to a Ferguson entusiast who was going to restore it 100%. I miss it but knowing it is in good hands makes me feel good.
Encouraging to see the lack of corrosion inside the engine
Our thoughts exactly
A leather or nylon mallet is handy for knocking drums off. Remember old shoes will contain asbestos. Keep up the good work.
Top tip, thank you 😊
I had to do this job on mine they were worse than yours.took about 3 days to do and sliced open my finger to 😊
Oh man we feel your pain
I'd sat that was expensive
Nope, great price and free delivery 👌
@@FatherandSonTractors I spent 300 euro on parts
I would suggest your son wear closed toe shoes as open toe shoes could lead to accidents.
Good morning Jay, thank you for your concern. When he does bits of work he puts his boots on, but while he's filming and it's boiling hot, I'd rather him stay cooler.
Hello Tobias, this is Alice I'm the lady you spoke to on the phone at APUK when placing the order glad your happy with everything 😊
Hi Alice, it was a pleasure to talk to you 😊 and thank you for sending the parts out
I would very gladly watch this but that constantly LOUD twingtwangtwingtwang guitar drove me away very quickly. I'm sorry.
I love your channel Lads keep at it you should take on a 20 diesel after
Thank you. We very much enjoy it. Sounds like a plan 🤩
Great video!
Ahhh, I love this! What a fantastic day 😊
Poor guy. He looks lost.
Haha he is certainly not lost. We both get the giggles in front of the camera.
He is so freaking adorable 🥰
One of my subscribers but me on to you guys! Looks like you’ve got your work cut out for yourselfs there 😅 if ever you come across a te 20 engine im after one 👍 good look guys 💪
Haha yes it's quite the task, but we are both confident it'll be a success. Thank you. Yes I'll let you know if I hear of any 👍
Great video. So interesting seeing the inside of the engine and it being good condition after all that time!? 🎉
Thank you. Yes we are both shocked and educated
