I have 2023 maya and used the multicut tool to lay in edge loops. How ever it's only just dropping one. Each time I go to outer edge line, press control there isn't a new edge loop that shows up.
hi ! let's try to solve this. There are few other options you can use to add multiple tools. Try the "Insert Edge Loop Tool" here is the documentation from Autodesk. Let me know if this helps. help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2025/ENU/?guid=GUID-226AECD6-F2C0-48D7-BE16-39E52EE7F075
Hello, I am trying to do the extrude to add the detail you added on the hilt. What did you do to merge the vertex to smooth the mesh? Combining the vertex doesnt seem to be working, they don't move when I do edit mesh -> merge. It also wont let me select vertex individually because theyre duplicated. How can i fix it?
Hi poppy! Let’s try to fix that! Could you give me the time stamp of where you’re at in the modeling?
That was awesome to watch! :)
glad to hear! ッ
Thankyou... But you are too fast please make videos for beginner
@@Talib-E-Ilm17 happy to help ッ
Did u create uvs for this and substance painter?
@@morningdrums yes this model was UVed in maya and textured in substance painter ッ
Good lord that sword is T H I C C
Great thanks 👍👍
Seems like ai voice is it?
no, just me ッ
@@kristine3D it's great then God gifted beautiful voice
Help. Im trying so hard to get the lattice right but the points are not matching, making the fuller "narrow" all the way from top to bottom, rather than "wide to narrow".
Hi @mangojuice7721 feel free to private message me on my instagram @kristine.3D - lets figure out whats going on ッ
update: nvm i fixed it. Im a beginner to maya and it really makes me spiral whenever there is something wrong and I couldnt seem to fix it
@@MangoJuice7721 ah! Im glad you fixed it. Theres a learning curve for sure, dont be too hard on yourself!
@@kristine3D thank you so much! I have your vid at literally 0.5x speed just so I can catch everything youre doing haha
Hi
teach me how to be pro like u
Your voice is so good. I ended up watching the entire video just to listen to it more lol 😆
Thank you haha ッ

Thank you ! ッ
I really like your video n all about tip n tricks u shown waiting for next video❤
glad you like it ! ッ
Appreciate the tutorial but would be better if you went a lot slower. I had to watch it at 0.25x speed at times.
hope it was helpful ! and im trying to manage a happy middle between too slow and too fast. Feedbacks are appreciated, thank you ッ
Thank you so much for doing this. Learned a lot of edge related tips and tricks and the basic workflow in modeling swords like these. Hope you do more of these tutorials in the future with not much know tips and tricks wedged in between as well.
You’re very welcome !
Super clean guide, awesome!
glad it was helpful ! ッ
Wow, your workflow is so CLEAN. Can we see your portfolio please?
thank you. I think you asked me this recently haha. Not at the moment, but I will think about releasing my portfolio here in the future.

@@kristine3D You might know this or not but another way to slide edges you can hold control and shift then select which vector to slide the edge.
Yes, this is another way ! It's great that you commented this, hopefully people will see. Sharing techniques with each other is awesome, thank you .
@@kristine3D 😁 Your welcome and especially in Maya. I am learning new stuff all the time even watching your vid I was like "Oh wow! I didn't know that trick."
Great pros model
thank you ! ッ

New subscriber 🎉❤
Hello, welcome to the chanel! thank you for subscribing ッ
this is fantastic! a lot of niche and clever tools i never use and now i want to. i use maya for several years and a 5 minute video showed me how much more i could learn with it. thank you
glad to hear it ! ッ
For going to be subdivided-smooth was it necessary for the polygons to be all quads?
good question, this really depends on where your models are being used in, for film assets that are mid-hero resolution yes 100% - everything else? no (like games)
Damn your modeling is so efficient.
Good topology.
Nice! Thanks!
sure thing ツ
wow, youre so good. Do you have a porotfolio? Really clean topology.
thank you! will think about releasing my portfolio here in the future
I THOUGHT THAT MELODY WOULD RICK ROLL ME
Nice one👌 got a doubt though While subd modeling did you add just supporting edge loops or did you crease some areas as well, i felt like you did at some places so want to know if it was just supporting edges or not. Also would you make a tutorial(speedrun or normal) on modeling a sword with a fuller that goes outwards instead of inwards or a gaming chair with multiple cushions on the botton seat next or in the future maybe😄😄?
No creasing was done during this demonstration. I added screengrabs to compare the topology between poly and subd so everyones able to have a closer look, check at 07:50 I’ll add your request to my future model demo list ッ
Ah I see it now Ok cool
Spent sometime last week to create that Sword tutorial you've requested for. It's up on my chanel now. Hope it helps! ッ
Thank you so much for spending your valuable time for that tutorial. I will check it out as soon as i am done with my current modeling project. Thank you once again. 🙏😄@@kristine3D
Thanks mam

Nice tutorial but please do speak a bit more loudly😅 btw are you self taught or a graduate with arts degree?
Hi! ッI went to Art School and have a Graduate Diploma
cool and thank you for replying. May i also ask if you would make a video in the near future on best way and tips on starting to learn 3d modeling in Maya?@@kristine3D
ah! I just got asked this same question not too long ago on my tiktok. I will add it on my list ッ thank you for the suggestion
