that means youre going too fast so when the game checks what youre doing, youre telling it youre doing herblore again, so it makes the guam tar. try to turn on fake XP drops, visual ticks, visual metronome or something that allows you to see ticks on screen (I would recommend visual metronome and setting it up so you have 3 colors flash under your character all distinct, like red-blue-green-red-blue-green etc 1 tick apart) then record your footage until you make the mistake, and notice your issue. or just slow down a bit :)

appreciate it dude, thats basically why i started the skilling guides, i personally just didnt like any of the other videos & i was fortunate enough to already be in a position where i was friendly with some of the games top skillers to ask for help. mlm, afaik the method was discovered by Drogon & Port Khazard after the delay removal in 2022, which was then further popularized by JCW in his ironman series. you can search the OG video via the title "3t/4t (3.5t?) double roll motherlode mine example" but its fairly intensive if youre not great at tick manips, especially for such a niche method (meaning you're only here for the collection log, not for xp) - MLM has been buffed significantly and is rather chill. basalt - again i afk'd it, idk any specific methods, unless you just mean like a 1.5t like you would do with shooting stars / daeyalt ess, etc? if you havent seen it, this is a VERY useful document on skilling which outlines many of the questions you may have - for instance how stalls work to be able to 1.5t stuff (like you can 1.5t a redwood tree, too thats a popular option) but a general concept as well is like.. you can technically 1.5t something but have it run out of resources, like if you try to 1.5t a granite ore, you have two rolls but can only get one ore, so youre effectively 3t'ing it like normal if that makes sense. github.com/data-dependent/osrs-guides/blob/master/skilling.md#stalls-after-movement

also just to be a bit more clear, all player grown trees work in patches (including the redwood), but the reason you almost never see anything else is because generally its just not a good option. efficient players will simply pay to have those trees cut down when farming, and for wcing, teaks is just better xp at a low level than basically anything else. like yeah you can 1.5t a yew tree you grew, but the chance to roll a successful cut is so low, a double roll is very rare (i just tried, took me 32 logs lol) that it just doesnt make sense. so you CAN, but why? it's really just teaks for xp/banking con, mahoganies for banking con (but rarer), and then redwoods for banking FM that a player would try to 1.5 for trees and rocks work, but only contain one resource (you mine 1 copper rock, get 1 copper ore) so you can't double roll to get 2 resources. the exception is special rocks, like shooting stars, daeyalt, pure essence, probably the basalt, etc.that don't deplete in 1. hope this answers everything, vids are being worked on slowly

@@FancyLife the reason i mentioned player grown trees is b/c i was surprised to read that they work similarly to certain mining options. i also saw a video of someone chopping player teaks on fossil island getting 1.5, which is technically faster than 2t teaks (and probably requires adderall and caffeine. thank you so so much. just saved me hours of more headache.

@@PickyMcCritical 1.5t teaks is AMAZING, one of the best pieces of content in the game imo as its like any other skilling method to start but has one of the highest skill ceilings, meaning you can basically constantly learn and improve the method as you get more and more familiar with it. i just got 99 on my pure a week or two ago there & was gunna finish off 99 on my alt soon. maybe ill check ot see if theres a video on it thats any good, if not ill make one. if youre familiar with 3t4g its basically that to start but then variables get added as the tree does/doesn't deplete. its fun, i promise!

its definitely rough out there and i personally dont enjoy it for long stretches of time, but i find it a nice way to really learn how important ticks are in terms of efficient skilling. i dont love skilling, but i do love seeing number go up and as someone whose perpetually making new accounts, i want to get these silly grinds out of the way. giants foundry is also a great option but for some reason I HATEEEEE it something just does not mesh with me there.

@@FancyLife couldnt have said it better myself. I think my hangup with the giants foundry, and blast furnace is how much you have to pay attention. If you miss that stamina pot youre cooked, and in giants foundry if youre not paying attention youre ruining the quality. I like to watch stuff while i play this game so i m glad there is lots of options for skilling.

That is correct. Eating can continue the skill timer but not start it. This is a common characteristic in F2P tick manips and some more niche techniques like eating Karambwams instead due to their 2t timer, but ofc that requires someone trading your karabwams glad you got it figured out!

It's so sad how they've forced the best methods of obtaining resources to be random PvM encounters IMO, but yeah, the drop tables need to be adjusted constantly to account for this stuff. Something like Ranarr is low level but has clearly been manually adjusted previously to become rarer than it's level demands it, so Torstol should be the same. IMO this is a crazy tedious method in general, if anyones willing to do it it should be far & away the best seeds per hour for things like Torstol / Snapdragons.

yep, this is a GREAT way to learn, i actually meant to focus on that more in the video but started rambling and cut it all out going from range only to range->mage and then full tribrid, its also just a great way to warm up.

It doesn't make sense now, but when the video came out the bow was about 30m and the essence was like 150 or something. Since that time, the bows cost has more than doubled and the essence has lost about 90% of its value.

did you pre load it? youre basically picking up LAST trips run, so it should be done for quite a while before you get there.

This is covered in the video, you have too many of the same clean herb or the same log in your inventory. You get 1 of any clean herb, then the rest are grimy, or 1 teak log 1 mahogany log. If you have more than 1 of any individual thing, it brings up the "make x" menu

Right click the "XP" orb next to the minimap and you can configure them. there's also an "xp drops" runelite plugin but i dont think does what you need, but helps configure them more.

Spreading the love costs nothing

1) Right click any skill in the skills menu and select "Add to Canvas" 2) Open "XP Tracker" on the Runelite sidebar (where you normally see xp/hr for skills) and then select a skill you're currently training there and right click "add to canvas" 3) If you instead want XP Globes (the little circles instead of the larger boxes) then it is it's own plugin "xp globes"

@FancyLife I was referring to the exp that floats up near the minimap. For the life of me I cannot find where to activate that setting.
