Norton Baptist Church
США
Добавлен 29 дек 2019
Norton Baptist Church is located in Northeast Ohio in downtown Norton. We are centered around God's Word and all that He reveals in it. The Bible is inerrant, sufficient, and authoritative for the church, and it reveals God's plan for salvation for all mankind as found only in the person of Jesus Christ. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ is building this church on that very foundation of His Word. While we include the elements God's Word speaks of that must exist in assembled services, singing, praying, Scripture reading, the centerpiece of our services is faithful, Biblical, expository preaching because this is the primary means by which Christ builds His church. We pray that our RUclips channel, as it conveys the preaching of God's Word from our services, might be a blessing to all who check it out. We know that God's Word never returns void, but accomplishes everything that the Lord sends it out to accomplish, and all of this for His great glory!

Psalm 23 - Yahweh Is My Shepherd
Просмотров 5321 час назад
Psalm 23 has been used to bring comfort to millions of people, but unfortunately, it is not applicable to many who have sought comfort in it. The group of people who can truly find comfort in this Psalm is actually very few, and we must desire to make sure that the Lord is not a shepherd, but that He is MY Shepherd.
Matthew 12:1-8 - God's Greater Priority
Просмотров 3614 дней назад
God desires us to obey all that He commands us, but we must understand there is a greater priority God has than simply doing what He says. Yes, we owe Him all obedience, He is Lord, but His desire for us is not simply to "do what we are told", but rather He has a greater priority for us to consider in that obedience.
Matthew 11:28-30 - The Invitation of God

Many people feel stuck in the mud spiritually, like they are just spinning their wheels unable to draw near to God. Jesus here gives a clear invitation, and if you desire to draw near to God, it must be done through drawing near to Jesus. Listen what it means to come to Jesus.
Matthew 11:25-27 - According to His Plan

Jesus has been calling the people to repentance, and one might begin to think that the ministry of Jesus is being ineffective because people are refusing to respond. However, this text makes clear, God is absolutely sovereign in salvation, revealing the truth to whom He wills, and Jesus and the Father are absolutely on the same page.
Matthew 11:16-24 - Rejection of Repentance
Просмотров 82Месяц назад
The Jewish people continually refused to listen to the message of John and Jesus, which was all about repentance. What does it mean to repent, how does one go about repentance, and why do people resist repentance so much? This text helps us understand as well as pronounces the consequences of refusing to repent.
Matthew 7:7-15 - You Must Respond To This
Просмотров 62Месяц назад
People will look for any reason to not have to listen to a message they do not want to hear, and so it was in the days of Jesus. Here in Matthew 7:7-15, though, Jesus gives a stern warning to the people, that the message John the Baptist gave cannot be simply ignored, one must respond to it.

Просмотров 61Месяц назад
Do you struggle with doubt as a Christian? Doubt is something every Christian struggles with at various points in their walk with the Lord. God knows we are frail creatures, who will go through such times, and in His grace He grants us texts like this one where we see the one greatest among those born of women doubting, and Jesus explains to him how to gain confidence in our doubt. Jesus has been teaching throughout chapter 10 on discipleship, and now He closes out this teaching with two tests of whether we are disciples based on who we love more, and then four rewards of being a disciple that should motivate us to continue to be faithful.

Waaaw, jast waaaw,soo powerful 🤗🤗🤗✊️
It is only because of the grace of God that I will endure until the end.
Amen!
Thank you, Pastor Sean. God definitely heard the prayers last Sunday. I have been giving my testimony to the medical team that was called to use their healing gifts these past few days. I will have a slow road for recovery, but God will always be there.
That was an awesome teaching! Profound corelation of the leper, Jesus, cleansing, sin, and war against sin. Never heard teaching done so well on the lepers story. Yes, Leviticus can be an exhausting book to understand. But God is so precise in everything and perfect in all ways. Thanks, Pastor Sean.

44:44 just like any relationship, love is something you DO, whether you feel it or not. Feelings are shifting and capricious, but love is a choice
Fantastic sermon 🎉 as wonderful creations of and as adopted children of God, we have the right to cry out to Him and expect Him to keep his promises
48:30 Thank you for your hard work Sean. Your last message, #43, was the best one of them all. I appreciate your faithful teaching.
Shaun, thank you for your encouragement brother. Keep on keeping on!!!
This was very helpful to me
Not always discernible Satan being subtle can Be transformed into an Angel of light and his Ministers!
keep it up sir, it is hard to hear the truth these days
Thank you Kevan, pray that the Lord would keep us faithful to Him. Without Christ, we can do, and are, absolutely nothing. God bless!!!
It truly matters is if we get HIM!
Thank you. God bless.
This series dealing with forgiveness has been a blessing and convicting to me as well as timely. Our God is so good!
Thank you Vicki!!! Soli Deo Gloria!!!
I ask this here for 1.) So the question is in proper context to what it is pertaining to and 2.) So others who may come to this sermon at a later date as I have, may have this same inquiry or have further instruction from what is preached as I think this to be relevant in the current age. My question is this: It is certainly written to "not cast our pearls before swine" Jesus Himself said this and you have mentioned it here concerning interacting online through social media (beginning/opening of sermon). In Scripture, we see John the Baptist confront king Herod concerning his unlawful taking of Herodias as wife (Matthew 14). Was John "casting his pearls before swine" here? Was there any chance of Herod actually caring about what John told him? We see the result of this being John thrown in prison and later beheaded. In light of both what Christ said and John calling out king Herod (political official alike those mentioned in the opening, also both cases concerning "marriage"), how should this effect and provide insight for how the Christian responds online to the secular world? How should we express zeal for Yahweh and truth in such a way that we are truly being obedient to Christ's command and developing wisdom to discern this? Thank you
Hey Matt, a couple of things to consider regarding John the Baptist's interactions with Herod. John the Baptist was called by God to prophesy to the nation of Israel, and therefore by extension her leaders. Just as Jeremiah was called to prophesy to Judah and was told they would not listen, John the Baptist was called knowing some would not listen. It was the grace of God to send prophets to people knowing they would not heed the warnings given. There is a sense, in which, Herod demonstrated that he did care what John told him. If Herod did not care at all, he would not have imprisoned John. Herod, rather, was seeking to suppress the truth in unrighteousness because he did not want to hear what God had to say about his unlawful marriage. I am not sure anyone could say they were called by God to be a prophet on social media. That does not mean we cannot speak out the truth there, but we should seek to do so with discernment and wisdom, gaging whether what I say could even be received well by the ones who will hear it. I think more often than not, we would be viewed as just wanting to fight and argue, and not viewed as one who truly has zeal for God and His Word. I think also asking ourselves whether my zeal is for Yahweh, or if my zeal is for expressing what I have learned and putting others in their place. Those heart checks are often missing in so much interaction. So, as I stated in the sermon, my thinking is that we ought to pass by much of what we see, especially where we do not know the individuals involved. I think it is different if we know the people personally, and then we might be better to go to them privately instead of risking being seen as trying to "one up" them on social media. I do not think one answer can fit all situations, that is for sure.
All I kept saying was...WOW!!!...Amen...as I was listening. This is the very Best sermon on God's Sovereignty, unadulterated. I will share this!... especially with new believers. Great layed out explanation of God. God Bless you Pastor Sean, maybe we can come to visit your church one day, long way from Wisconsin! 🙏❤️
Thank you Donna. We would love to have you guys come visit us.
Best balanced rendering we’ve heard on this difficult Biblical subject. Hits the heart and the head equally. Challenges the way and manner in which we pray about God’s will and FOR God’s will in every circumstance. God is sovereign in everything in every way.
AMEN I would be intrested in a copy if you can send me one. Thank you for standing strong where many would look the outher way.
Thank you Jim, we truly appreciate your encouragement!
Shared this sermon with some friends God has delivered in my hands to share the gospel with. God's Word is powerful and has power to convict men of sin and transform them
Praying it has power in their lives to bring them to the knowledge of Christ!
Preach religions crap Stay away from science.
This is what preaching that is humble before God's Word looks like. The glory and credit is all given to Christ and it should be. It is Christ and His grace that makes us new and makes us like those Jesus describes in the beatitudes.
Totally unconvinced as everyone should be until good and sufficient evidence has been presented and accepted to prove this supernatural world/deity. So far that has never happened. We have stories in an old book that says a thing.
You can believe the world came into existence all on its own, but I think that should have to be proved with good and sufficient evidence before anyone should believe that. So far, we have none, just scientists claiming billions of years caused the impossible to happen. We all believe in something, those who think they do not have faith are only fooling themselves.
Thank you from 🇳🇴
Amen! Discipleship , not conversion.
Amen Jesus is coming 🙏
So......we should abandon reason, rationality and evidentiary empiricism for belief in a Bronze Age collection of fables and fictional characters??
Your error here is failing to recognize that the Bible is true in everything it speaks to.
They are trying to make him a human and not divine just like The Chosen. Why do people try to pick and choose what they like from the Word of God. Look just get the Bible app and read just one paragraph a day or have the app read to you. JUST ONE A DAY ❤️
Absolutely. I have found people pick and choose because they find the fully revealed Jesus in Scripture unacceptable to them. In other words, they are creating an idolatrous Jesus that they find more acceptable. You are spot on, go to the Source, God's Word, thank you!
I have enjoyed many of your sermons but I especially loved this one. Based🔥🔥
😇 Thank you
Absolutely, Annie, I need it as much as anyone!!!
You don't ever need to put on a show. Your enthusiasm is always inspiring me to do better. THANK YOU AGAIN 😊

Great message 😇 Bob listened too. It was a little rough to follow at times and to explain to him but hey it's a great start. Keep up the great work Sean! Bob says "Hi"
Thanks Annie!!! Tell Bob I said hello as well...yeah, Hebrews is a tough book, but it is very valuable. Praying Bob would understand that Jesus is the only way to have peace with God.
