The upgraded the picture in all these seasons. The first season is a nice upgrade but the color seasons do look a better than the DVDs. Would it be worth it. Don't waste your money if you own the dvds I don't notice any better picture on these blurays and hardly any special features.

I recently rewatched the Hercules TV show on DVD's and the video quality depends on your TV's upsclaing plus the player. I experimented with PS3 vs PS5 using high speed HDMI cable on a 65" 4K screen and surprizingly PS3 shows a clearer image.

This video is just a first look at the packaging. I will have a full review of it on (ClassicCinemaMagazine.blogspot.com) once I watch the Blu-ray set. Right now I have watched a couple of the episodes and video and audio are pretty impressive in comparison to the DVD sets I have.

It's not the best packaging... no. But for people like me that have multiplied 1000s of box sets and movies. The smaller spacing makes for a better option. As after a while you Run of of space to put stuff.

I got the set the other day, and sadly no. The Turtles Forever movie is also the edited tv version unfortunately.

Sorry I forgot to cover there were no bonus features. 😪 The set features just the 155 episodes and TV movie.

If you have Zoom capabilities on your disc player, the 1.2x zoom setting can turn 4:3 content into a passable 1.66:1 image with no stretching. You just cut off a bit on tbe top and bottom, but most of the time, old 4:3 content had way too much vertical information anyway. I watch my TNG Remastered Blu rays in 1.2x zoom/1.66:1 It's just a more pleasing ratio that way. However, this method is onky really tolerable with Blu ray content. DVD doesn't scale this way very well. Because 4:3 DVD content isn't anamorphic.

Thanks For Commenting! The Blu-ray is in widescreen format (1080p) the DVD is in the original full screen format. Both new for Liberation Hall!

@@thetoythief8940 Yeah I understand your feeling on that! The cropped picture is not the best option but for those that prefer the original there is the DVD. Of course you already have the DVD so no need to get another copy.

I saw someone ask them on twitter about that. This was their answer: The original broadcast version in 1996 was formatted 4:3 (1.33:1) as was standard in the US at that time, but the project was shot on film using a spherical cinematographic process, which produces a sharp, uncompressed 16:9 image. The elements provided to us by the licensor, 16:9 1920 x 1080 - it would seem they went back to the original film elements for the source they provided us and not the 4:3 formatted source that was used for broadcast.

Yeah I agree that uncut blu-rays of the series would be totally awesome. We can only hope. I don't know much about what they acquired the right to. My feeling is it must have just been just the series and didn't include the tv movie. Anyway thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.

@@thetoythief8940 I have the same set but its only 97% uncut. It still has edits. The chipmunk song is missing from an episode, stuff is missing from the Gilligan's island episode to name a few. But its as close as we have gotten. Hopefully since Shout factory has access to the Alien Productions vault we will get something really special and by that i mean original broadcast masters uncut unedited release.

I have the universal releases of Seasons 1-4 of sliders and the Mill Creek Complete series DVD. The Universal season 5 is insane in price.

All Wal-Marts are different so they may not be available at yours or they may be sold out. The quality is not bad it's not HD! And yes the standard Mill Creek DVD menus.
