We tend to think of being on the street as being “in” a place called The Street, a place that has its own ambience and ethos. And usually we are not thinking of wide-open spaces like rural or industrial areas. But after 100 years of street photography, what’s interesting is how enduring our interest is in the ways it has not changed, and how it can change from time to time if the shooter does a new mix of persona, tools and location - a new story or a new environment.
