I am stuck in and on Pride and Prejudice since the 1995 6-hour series by the BBC and, I believe, A&E. The miniseries introduced me to Pride and Prejudice and Jane Austen and, of course, Mr. Darcy so perfectly cast with Colin Firth. I’ve watched that production over and over again over the years, and timed out the special/certain scenes that bring the most joy and for the past 29 years every time I watched it I saw a little something more, a little something different than I hadn’t caught before. I read the book a couple times but didn’t find it as enjoyable as the long film version. I have now moved on to audiobooks, have listened to three different readers so far and have picked up even more in the text than I could ever have done reading it on my own. The woman was incredible in her writing and language experience. Miss Austen is to be revered as an otherworldly writer for knowing what she knew in her world and knowledge of the subject. I have seen many adaptations of her other books but nothing affects me like Pride and Prejudice. There is one audiobook that includes the entire written book and you could read along if you wanted to, although it is read rather swiftly, it is read well. All 10 hours in one reading, no stopping/starting but you can Stop and start as you like and it may do well for high school students. There’s another rendition read slow and in a soothing manner with the purpose of being a sleep aid. Can’t beat that. She was 41-1/2 when she passed away. What an amazing writer she was. Her picture is on the Bank of England £10 note. -K ❤

It was pretty good. Don’t go into this expecting a dystopian novel tho it’s more of a traditional novel that explores the importance of the people around us. The sci-fi part of everything is just a plot convention and is not the main focus of the narrative.
