yup... get a 100x camera and use a tv screen too. It's helped me tremendously. If you can see it on the TV sure has hell they will see it on the vsc80!

How the hell do we us3 this info if we don’t collect mosiac or donrus# basket ball, what about a 1973 Topps baseball card?

As much money as the card companies are charging us to buy these cards, they should be perfectly done. Without having to buy any gadgets to see if they are centered or not. They the card companies should inspect their cards before putting them in the silver foil that they come in. Back then at 10 cents to 50 cents a pack didn’t seem to bother anyone. But now at 5 dollars to 500 dollars a pack should be more then enough for them to get it right. By constantly changing the cutting blades and Inspecting every single card with robotic measuring equipment would be the right thing to do. Just like inspecting parts that are put into aviation. Make them right or throw them away. Nobody wants to send in a card to get an 8 or 9. Especially when you pay $1,000.00 for a box!!!!!

How do you clean a Topps card from the 60’s or 70’s how do you straighten the corners and how do you adjust the sides?

GMA!?! If it’s for your PC, then use whatever you want… if you EVER think you might sell, PSA is the most trusted grading… many people won’t even buy a graded card by GMA! or some of the others for that matter… there are 3 big guys who are trusted! My advice would be to use those to ensure you maximize value!

You could do all of this and still get low scores because PSA is inconsistent, non transparent and corrupt

I've been collecting since 1980 and I think I have developed a very good eye in my mind that I can almost tell what a card will grade. I look at all 4 corners front and back and then I will turn the card back and forth looking for any type of ding, dot or something that could have happened in the printing process and you're right about it being different for all the different types of cards and I just tell myself what I think it will grade and go for it and hope for the best!

Just getting started: cleaning, grading, etc. What is best source (site or app) online to determine current prices? Before putting time and effort into any given card, it would be good to know it it's even worth it.

Cool video! I have a local LCS that does PSA submissions and they will inspect for me. The math has been pretty consistent…half of the cards I bring to them they consider strong 9s or 10s, 75% of the cards they submit for me end up being 10s. I only bring them cards that don’t have obvious issues…around 75%. It ends up being around 1 in every 4 cards I would like to get graded for my PC end up being 10s. The other ones I throw up on eBay to help pay for the grading and pack costs.

This is cool and all but kind of a joke when you're using GMA numbers as evidence of a good grading eye. Do this with PSA .....

I was a big customer with GMA when they had cheap prices. Now I just go with PSA because the prices are just too close and might as well go with the PSA name. GMA said they raised prices because of COVID and I get it but… im going with PSA when the prices are that close.

1. GMA? That's hilarious. 2. That's not how we measure to see if a card is centered (and I've worked for two of the major grading companies). 3. SGC huh? A card grading company started by a guy that is well-known for altering cards. You're three for three man.
