There is plenty to do. Widdel some wood, watch nature, fish, contemplate the universe, or just be there in the moment.

Is there any medicinal plants I can forage in the space coast of Florida that you know of?
@bluemoon2585 many, Bidens Alba, plantain, yarrow, beautyberry, And my favorite, lemon bocaba just to name a few.
@ thank you for replying. I’ll start researching these plants.
💪💪
I'm an introvert and my batteries get recharged during quiet alone time. The wilderness is all about the escape for me. Helps my brain to slow down and de-clutter too. "No politics out here..." lol we all need to get outdoors at least every four years...

Awesome 😊❤
That mushroom looks like a poisonous one in FLA
@mikeinlutz there is a toxic false parasol known as the vomited. I saw it a lot in Florida. That being said, there are some defining differences that help differentiate between the two.
Thank you so much for this. I have many reishi mushrooms harvested from the forests surrounding that area. I find boletes, chanterelles and other wonderful edibles in these areas sometimes. ❤ miss your videos.
What a gold mine! Might I suggest a mushroom cooking video?
It definitely was a great find! That is a good idea, I think the last one I did was in Florida with Bolette's ruclips.net/video/bfJy86fH6mY/видео.html

Do you recommend foraging with another person
@@heatherkelly2457 Any chance you get:)
First thanks for the information. Ebike storage, there is a guy that runs around ny neighborhood with a kids tagalong trailer on the back. He took the part for the kids off and mounted a storage box on the back. Goes to store and puts the lid on so that nothing comes out. Daily he puts hid old mastiff in and drives the dog around. Might work for you..just an idea.
@@richardmccombs617 I was actually thinking about that, it would be easy to modify
Still waiting for the Hedgehog mushrooms to appear here in the Uk, i eat them like they are going out of fashion. Great video. 😊
@@JaylarkOutdoors Thanks, I love hedgehogs but haven't found them here yet.
140 is the weight of the package, the bike actually weighs about 116. I have the same bike. You gotta gps verify your speed cause it's off out of the box, you gotta adjust the wheel size. It only goes about 33 and I'm 200 pounds. I don't know where you heard it goes over 40. It is a great bike.
I think that 40 was with some modifications, agreed on the gps, regardless of a few mph 33 is fast enough for what I will use it for.
Im looking to start uncorperat more items into my cooking mixes. Jeursalm aritchokes make a great substitute for chinese water chestnut.

@@MoniMeka yes, there was horsetail all over that are.
OK
Lovely scenery man, place looks great!
Hmm I am curious about that bolete that stained blue. I forage mushrooms regularly in NE Florida and find those all the time. I could get 50 lbs in an hour. Rule of thumb is if they turn blue so will you! I never tried to eat any based on that. Did you have any issues eating it? Did you get sick at all?
@KH-ov4ky nope, there are many edible bolete that turn blue. thehgsociety.com/2022/09/06/four-edible-blue-staining-boletes/
Thank you for all your gathering content, it’s really enhanced my gathering skills in Florida. Can you tell us the zone you found this mushroom? 🍄🟫 🌀🩵🌀
Great video as always
Nice to see you back on, been a while

Where are you located (regionally)?
He's in the north west

SWFL Mid hurricane season Florida Bolette Mushroom update: the wild bolettes in my yard flushed at the start of the wet season. Now, midway through hurricane season another bolette mycelium cluster on slightly higher drier ground is flushing, nextdoor. They don't all flush at the same time? Interesting. Dinner: a couple sweet potatoes from the yard, an onion, today's bolettes, a little garlic and kielbasa sausage, sliced and fried skillet style. And tobacco. Life is good.
What time of year is best to find in nw Florida, near Panama City
Late summer through fall after some good rain
Thank you I had some today. I'm going to cook the root tomorrow:)
Let's go 🍄🍄🍄
Just started my foraging adventures here in FL. Watching this vid motivated me to go forage 🍄 AND made me want to adopt a traveling companion 🐺🐕😊
Nice mashrooms … but never put mashrooms in plastic bags 🙈🙈🙈…. Greetings from the Bavaria 😊
@karinwickel4682 greetings back from the Pacific Northwest. I've been putting mushrooms in plastic bags for 20 years probably not going to change an old habit
JEEZ MAN! KEEP THE DOG OUT OF THE WATER ! Gators love dog meat
So you say they are boletes but you don’t say what kind and When someone did ask you if they were bicolor boletes you gave the Latin name just to prove how much smarter you are than the person who asked the question. I love mushroom hunting, but mushroom people are so obnoxious and pompous. congratulations on making yourself feel superior.
My cuttings should arrive today and I'm excited to add this to our garden. 💜 happy growing 💜
I’m with you
Under the oaks and Coco plums in my back yard is where I find my boletes.
Is your katuk plant in a container?
Yes, a large pot
Welcome back! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks it's good to be back
What trail is that ? I'd like to hike there! I think you should make a video series of foraging and sharing your knowledge on the plants here in South florida. I'd watch it
Bird Rookery swamp outside of Naples Florida. We have moved to Washington State and I'm exploring this area now however if you look on the channel under foraging you should find additional foraging videos in Florida
These look like the trees they use for Christmas trees. Never had a fresh one, but they look like it.
They are the same ones in many cases
Thank you for the video😊
You're welcome 😊
How do you know spruce from Douglas fir or pine trees?
The needles and the scaly cones are the best way however since both are edible and used in the same way I may not pay attention and mix them together at times!! :)
@@TheHunterGathererSociety So' if it has needles it is fine
@@carolyn-ok4qe So technically all (that I know of) pine and spruce tips are edible. Even the needles of the pine can be used for a tea. If you want to know which it is Spruce needles are sharply pointed, square and easy to roll between your fingers. They are attached to small, stalk-like woody projections. When needles are shed, these projections remain. Cones hang down from the branches. Fir needles are softer, flat and cannot be rolled between your fingers. They are flat and fat. Fir cones stand on top of the branch.
