What is ruined I don’t understand there just expanding the genre and allowing for new elements, I don’t see how that’s ruining the genre if you don’t like it you don’t have to listen to it

@@jackobrien5417 it's the spirit of metal that being ruined, it's maybe hard to understand if you're young and from the states but if you've been a metal fan since the 90s you might get it. The problem, for me, is that a lot of the new metal bands don't seem to get what is special about metal, to them it's like fashion. They do it because they like the image. Erra are incredible musicians, they are unbelievably good at their instruments. But they have no soul. I think a part of the problem is that a lot of "military" and right wing types have taken up metal, and metal is most definitely not a right wing genre of music, not traditionally. I mean their is Slayer and Pantera but that's a bit different, they're more redneck than right wing. And they're not that great anyway. Metal is being overtaken by young guys who view it as fashionable, who don't get it's supposed to have soul. It's being overtaken by American operator types who, frankly, suck as people. This is why new America metal isn't good.
