Many years (decades) ago I went to El Dorado to watch The Queen Mary Open. The story is that Fred Couples was visiting his then girlfriend who lived locally. Fred went out to play some golf and starter said they had a pro tournament going on and only pros can play. Fred said ok sign me up and so this was his first pro tournament. I didnt know who he was but decided to follow him. Turns out his playing partner was Corey Pavin. No crowds, no ropes just me , Corey and Fred both players were veery friendly to me as I walked down the fairways with them. On some holes into the wind Fred would use his heel to kick up a tuft of grass and just rest his ball on that as he would hit his persimminon driver right off the deck. Fred was carrying his University of Houston golf bag. Wha a memorable day that was.

#13 is the toughest hole on the course. You having a wedge into that green is impressive.

Beautiful but tough course

I played this course in a tournament once and it ate me up. I was in bunkers all day....Lots of bunkers

As a longtime member at Brookside Mens club every year before Christmas we would have a 2 day tournament at Tahquitz. It was so much fun playing with all the guys out there. Both courses are very playable yet challenging. Courses are well maintained and the staff is very professional....well run club!. They also had a breakfast and lunch buffet which was a great deal. Last time there I shot 80/80 .

I was a club member at Industry for many years. We used to call the Babe "the bitch". t I walked off this course a couple times. Over time I learned how to play both courses. At one time I had a 7 hncp at Industry which gave me a huge advantage playing other courses because my handicap was very competitive.

Video brings back many great memories of playing Griffith Park. Won my flight (B flight) twice in the LA City Championships. One year flight winners played a 3rd round at Rancho Park and I shot 74 gross with a 9 hndcp and was overtall net flight champ. You are a long hiitter bro with a smooth easy swing.Your fade tee shots are perfect for Griffith Park, nothing but dogleg rights.

Just wanted to pop into your latest video to thank you for doing such an awesome job documenting SoCal golf courses.

Rancho Park is a nice course, but one of the busiest in the country. Tee times are hard to come by. Having said that, I played there with a buddy many years ago in a steady rain. It was tough, due to the rain. All in all, it's a historic golf course right in the heart of L.A. I look forward to playing there, again. Thanks for putting this on RUclips!

The LPGA in 2005 held a fantastic professional golf tournament! I was there with my girlfriend and we got to see all the greats of that era!! I love this beautiful golf course! Oh the hole I love is the one where it's seems as if your hitting into a waterfall! Check it out! Trump 2024!

It would be cool if you made it out to Temecula for some more courses. I think you would like playing the gold tees at Redhawk. Journey and TCI would be great vlogs also. Keep it up!

Brother, I love your move toward the ball! I had the same issue as you losing balls to the right, I shortened my wedge swing and have seen incredible results. I have never swung ‘full’ at a wedge the last few years and have minimized my proximity a ton from 140 and in. Keep posting, big fan!

I don't know when you played, but if you play after the Farmer's tournament, even if it's two months later, the rough is incredibly tall and penalizing. You will lose many balls if you can't hit straight. Very frustrating.
