This trip was filmed on a full day Coronado Islands trip aboard the San Diego out of Seaforth landing. It did not take us long to find yellowtail, and they were biting early! The first few schools we found were good grade 12-20 lb yellowtail that were eager to hit our surface irons and yo-yo jigs. Inflatable Dinghy Sculpin!! | Dana Point Fishing
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
We’ve finally uploaded a video fishing in our dinghy! We’ve been fishing and hoop netting locally for a few months in the boat now. In this video, we launched out of Dana Point Harbor and went south in search of sculpin. Hope you guys enjoy! We took about a 40 minute run south of the harbor and started fishing in 180 feet. We mostly caught sand dabs so we made a move to the 230 foot range and s...
BIG YELLOWTAIL at Catalina Island (CATCH AND COOK!)
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
After several previous failed attempts to make it to Catalina in the Tailchaser, the weather finally cooperated enough for us to make the channel crossing. After good bass fishing and a wide open bonito bite, we were even lucky enough to connect with a big yellowtail to cook up for dinner. Hope you guys enjoy the video! ↓↓↓RECIPE BELOW ↓↓↓ After a slightly bumpy ride to Catalina, we made it to ...
Rockfish Catch and Cook (On the Boat!!) | Dana Point Fishing

We finally were able to film an on-the-water catch and cook for you guys, featuring some fresh-caught rockfish tacos. After no luck offshore on the yellowtail, we were able to get plenty of rockfish and whitefish in order to fillet for tacos, despite the slow bite. Thanks for watching! In the morning we swung offshore in search of kelp paddy yellowtail. We were able to find 2 paddies, but neith...
Dirty Water Bass Fishing | Float Tubing Newport Harbor

We mainly focused on throwing tailspins and had a pretty successful trip with close to 20 bass and some unusual bycatch. Thanks for watching! Fly Fishing for Trout | Flathead River, Montana
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
Here's the video from our Montana trip in July! We booked a full day fly fishing drift trip on the Flathead Rivers with John from Bigfork Anglers. The trip was definitely a success, as we caught 9 trout (rainbows, cutthroats, and cuttbows) up to around 15", almost all on dry flies. We floated an 11 mile stretch of the Flathead river starting in Columbia Falls, Montana. We were fishing from a dr...
CHRISTMAS YELLOWTAIL?! | December Offshore Fishing

Two days before Christmas, we received some reports of some decent yellowtail being caught offshore around Dana Point, with water temperatures up to 64 degrees. We decided to take out the Tailchaser, skipped bait, and headed offshore to try our luck for some December offshore action. #freeJustin Our strategy was to head around 8-15 miles off of the beach and search for floating kelp patties. What is the size of your boat? Please add the inside width and length
Oopps
Imagine as he's telling us his story, a huge whale pops out of water and swallows him up! 🤣
Nice!
15hp must be pretty heavy to handle for one person.
Where did you guys purchase that floating livewell?
we made it, drill a bunch of holes in a 2-3 gallon bucket and put a pool noodle around the rim so it floats
goofy kids, least you're having fun
I thought he speared the boat for a second.
How do you find those spots offshore amigo?
Sometimes we'll fish around the banks and high spots, but outside of that reading temp/chlorophyll charts and just driving and looking around while covering water.
Can you guys launch at a beach in so cal or do they freak out when you do that. Seems it would be really awkward always launching from a harbor depending on your destination.
I suppose we could push the boat down the beach but it wouldn't really be ideal, the harbor is generally easier for us. I don't think anyone would mind if we wheeled it down but you couldn't beach launch with a trailer.
What boat is that?
newport vessels catalina model 12.5 feet
Great video! Can you tell us a little bit about your inflatable boat and how you setup to go offshore?
we have a 12.5 footer with a 15hp motor. whenever we go out we have our fish finder/gps unit, handheld vhf radio, life jackets, and some other safety gear. if we choose to take bait we rigged up a big cooler with aerators that can keep sardines alive for a while, and we also made some rod harness straps for trolling. generally, if we go offshore we'll just look around and cast lures when we see fish. hope this helps
Thanks for the information. I really enjoy the videos. Keep up the great work
no worries, appreciate it!
How big and wide is your boat ?
it's 12.5 feet long, probably about 4-5 feet wide from the edge of each tube
@@GetBentSportfishing can we go fishing?
jus caught a big one the other day they fight hard not sure how much mine weighed i thin aroubd 50ish my friend said 70 or 80lb but still not sure
bat ray
good job ( great )
what was the sauce that you added to the noodles?
i think it was a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and a bit of sesame oil
I love jeopardy on trumpet
No way that fish survives
Great video. DO you mind sharing what kind of inflatable boat you have? I am in the market for an inflatable fishing boat and yours looks great.
thanks! it's a newport vessels catalina model, 12.5 feet
Hey bro, what size motor is your Suzuki you used on this boat ?? & what’s the length of it ? I want to see if mine can do the same ! Thanks 🙌
we have a mercury 15hp on the back, boat is 12.5 feet. in terms of going offshore, the main thing is just being careful with the sea conditions and picking a nice day to go
How far offshore do you guys fish, and how many ft is the dinghy? Awesome video
in this video we were maybe 12-13 miles out, boat is 12.5 feet
You got balls hanging a gaffed fish over board
You got to use bigger bait. If you do you’ll catch ones over 50 lbs. I’m not even lying
Get that rod off the rail!!! Lol
Foamers are out along Socal Coast again...u guys goin?
we're gonna go take a look this weekend if the weather is nice enough
@@GetBentSportfishing any luck this season?
@@coffeedollsvp not so much in the dinghy offshore, but we've done pretty well on the sport boats
I love it. I just bought my nephew this set up. I don't think we're venturing open ocean right away. bluefin yellow tail Catalina/SC island. I do feel better after watching this.
it's a great setup for coastal fishing, but just a word of advice, we would definitely recommend sticking to harbors/inshore for a while until you guys are really comfortable. SCI is 60 miles offshore, conditions can get bad fast over there and in an inflatable boat, that's a very long ways away from any help. Even Catalina is quite far for this size boat, unless you get a rare flat calm day. In this video we're 10-15 miles out max and even that is pushing our limits. We do have a really fun coastal fishery (bass, rockfish, etc.) that's definitely accessible with this setup, enjoy the boat and be safe!
I just got a 10.5 foot which me and my girl got a 15 hp engine. We’re excited to get out a little further probably 8-10 miles. Super excited
What fish finder do you guys run?
simrad cruise 7
Yo what pump are you using to get the blood out curious for my dinghy?
we use this one, good for getting water out of the boat: www.amazon.com/SeaSense-Hand-Bilge-Pump-20-Inch/dp/B004XACS30/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=hand+bilge+pump&qid=1652329318&sprefix=hand+bilg%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-5
that’s what dreams are made of.
Video starts off slow I was about to leave. Then I'm like what are you doing throw him in the boat throw him in the boat OMG it's just blood throw him in the boat!! Lol
Finished watching the video and there's blood everywhere.
@@LouLovesLyrics haha we unfortunately do not have a deck hose on our inflatable
Send video off set up fish finder and dingy make I’m looking to buy a 14 ft 25 hp. You think.
Sebastian, is it legal to float tube Newport Backbay area just past Jamboree Bridge toward estuaries?
anywhere past the pch bridge into the back bay you can't fish from a boat/tube/kayak, only from shore
Nice video. How do you like that Simrad? I just bought the same one. Thx
it's awesome, it would be so much harder to fish without it. we thought about getting a cheap one but ended up going with the simrad and it was definitely worth the investment, never had any problems so far
@@GetBentSportfishing Thanks for the reply. I have not used it yet in the ocean, but I'll be heading to the Coronado Islands in 2 weeks in search of any YT. Are the coastal maps decent? Again, thank you and keep posting them awesome fishing/adventure videos.
@@alanmckenzie3228 yeah they've been pretty good for us so far, but we haven't used them in mexican waters. also not sure if you're aware, but there's a bunch of permits needed for the coronados, so you'll want to have those in case you're boarded by the mexican navy lol
@@GetBentSportfishing Thanks again. Yes, TIP, Mex. fishing lic., eco brac., FMM and passport. It's a lot but the fishing there is usually very good.
@@alanmckenzie3228 yeah definitely, they're starting to see some yellows now. good luck out there
You guys are stunning and brave. Enjoy your videos.
Awesome video. How far were the islands from you guys? Thx
we got most of the fish at the rockpile, which is about 10 miles south of the islands
On a full day trip to the Coronado Islands do you have to have your passport or is that just for overnight trips?
Anytime you're fishing the Coronado Islands you'll need a passport, regardless of the trip length. I believe the law is whenever you're within 12 miles of Mexican land (coast or islands) you need a passport, but further offshore you don't need one
What boat is that?
Newport vessels Catalina model
Get better hooks the ones that comes on your rig looks fine but not battle tested I learned that the hard way nice vi bro🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
What’s the name of this charter you guys took?
we were on the clemente out of dana wharf sportfishing
Do you hold him by the eyes
definitely not, we'll usually grab them by the holes right behind the eyes where they take in water
What is the size of the boat?
12.5 feet
@@GetBentSportfishing thanks for the response I just bought a bris 10.8
I'm going on the same boat to Coronado in 2 weeks. How long is it to the island?
it kind of depends where you're fishing. i think it's about 20 miles from mission bay to the north island, around 25 to the south island, and an additional 5 miles to the rockpile. so you're looking at like 2-3 hours of travel time.
what rod and reel did u catch it on
avet jx and a shimano saguaro 7' mh
GetBent Sportfishing thanks do you mind if i ask where this is
@@parkerpruett13 just one of the public docks in newport harbor
what was the reel you were using
we usually list all the setups used in the description ^
Halo...nice strike fish I'm from Malaysia ..👍
You kept sending it and were rewarded! 🤙🏽
You guys remind me how me and my friends were back in the day fishing from my 15 aluminum 15 out.
do you need a boating license or register for something to be legally operating an inflatable boat like this? i want to build a boat like this but not good with the law so would be great to hear from you!
I believe any boat with a motor on it needs to be registered, and we have the CF registration numbers for ours. We also both have our boaters cards, but you can take a free online course to get those
You do not need a boater card just to register it and have your fishing license amd your good now if you go on rivers you do need the boat card think I seen you giy launch from there I take my dingy out to it’s 10 fit maxxon amd fish for thresher try it it’s fun to catch them
