Bungie's Halo does exsist still. It exists and 343's Halo doesn't have to change that. Just like the old Star Wars and Star Trek series aren't erased by the existence of the abominations that the series have become.

Back here after LNG caused a stir by bringing this debate back up. God I love this video. Might be one of my favorites on the whole platform. For the record I was just told to leave the fandom because I didn’t like 343’s output. It’s good to know that there are still normal people that understand Halo to at least some degree.

To further reconcile the Iris comic, it’s not hard to consider that an early human would perceive the act of burying the ark as “building” something. It reminds me of how important mounds were to early civilizations.

I can't lie, I've read almost every Halo book and I loved the forerunner saga. It was a great sci-fi trilogy.. but not great in the context of Halo. Greg Bear was a great sci-fi writer and had a talent for writing expansive and introspective books. But man does it make me sad to see what happened to Halo. My favorite game franchise of all time and probably always will be. Reach was a beautiful send off though. So I'll continue playing Destiny 2, even though Bungie seems to be going the route of 343 and trying their best to destroy their own legacy.

One thing that always surprised me about the Halo universe is that it strictly takes place in the milky way galaxy, aside from the copied didact and some other forerunners leaving the galaxy at the end of the war. The flood, the precursors, everything all takes place in one galaxy. There's so much possibility for Halo beyond the milky way if they ever chose to go there, but I doubt they will unfortunately.

As a younger fan I remember the short animations, and I haven't really played Halo 4 or 5 for a long time so I that they were just different species and Halo infinite with those little capsule things. It's crazy how much you can despise one person in just 1 hour

I tried to explain deep Halo lore to my friend. It got- messy as we started playing 4 because I stuck to the Bungie canon until we unsealed the Reclaimer Trilogy. 343i made such a disaster of things.

I love Bunjie’s work. They really knew what they were doing. Unlike the money obsessed fools leading 343. To me all of 343 work is non canon. I much more prefer that the forerunners are humans. I think 343 did the Halo franchise a massive disservice. Especially with that accursed TV show abomination that they made! You making this video has really made me happy to find someone else sharing my point of view!

It’d be amazing if most of the Latin American fandom and their go-to RUclipsrs (Katarn343, Bloodmetal, Halomce, Lul Yeah, etc.) could actually understand everything being said here. But no, they love every single retcon on top of retcon, even though they make no sense. Like you said in your video, it's kinda cringe to be part of a community where people defend 343 so hard, even when they mess things up so badly.

There is a lot of other lore changes that I… dislike 343 did like… ONI being far more incompetent than they were in the earlier book The elites having no fathers for some reason as well as refusing medical aid due to honour… even though it was established the Elites viewed that kind of honour standpoint to be utterly moronic. The UNSC infinity being made during the war and never being used or mentioned… at all. Even though it’d be best to use it as some kind of stop-gap against the covenant. Like seriously come up with a legitimate reason for why the infinity never appeared during the war despite it having been planned and already built during the war…

I come back to this again, now as a reason we should fear the rumored "Halo Studios" remake of the original game.

I wonder how a reboot of this part of the trilogy should go if we were to include these elements of the original story with the not-Earth-located Ark? Maybe hild off Arbiter's intro until the portal to the Ark is reached? And what of a second trilogy? You still have the brutes likely going on their own rampage, the human rebel factions, and the flood that are still threats along with Halo rings that are still there. Im sure some meaningful sequel trilogy could be made with the UNSC and Elites now working side by side.

I keep imagining a Halo trilogy that takes all of the unused assets and remolds them into a reimagined trilogy in some grand love letter to the Halo community. It would honestly be better than the "rehash" 343 is inevitably going to fail at.

The only good thing I like about 343 new lore which doesn’t alter bungies established lore is that the flood are the precursors. The forerunners learned the truth than the precursors seed life, let it grow, then consume it all as the flood to feast on the knowledge. The forerunners figured this grim fate out, and turned on the precursors, so the precursors fled and returned years later as the flood. That would still fit in with bungies canon right? Because I like that idea

I wonder if these 343 fans do the same sort of coping when people point out inconsistencies in the Bungie games. Like, do they ever try to argue that the size of the Pillar of Autumn *wasn't* increased in the final level to accommodate the 2 kilometer long Warthog run, or do they only start huffing the copium when it's 343 being put under the microscope?

I much prefer a potential romance between chief and miranda over the emergent romance between chief and cortana in the 343 games. The relationship should've stayed more platonic. I always find it so lame for any character in media to fall in love with a fake soulless robot

So what was Truth's actual motivation to activate the rings, if he knows what the rings really are? We still don't know? Truth being suicidal or insane wouldn't make sense for his character.

I just know if "HALO Studios" does remake CE they'll just reinforce that Forerunners were never humans, and 343(KIA) fans will use it as a gotcha.

Your inactivity for the past year gives me a tiny bit of hope that "Halo Studios" hired you and you're behind the scenes helping create the greatest reboot in entertainment history. Admittedly an impossible task, but I'd have faith in you of all people to do right by halo, bring new elements to the story, but stay faithful to the original creators.

Imagine being Joe Staten, you're working on Destiny and are powerless to do anything as Frankles misinterprets what are pretty clearly stated bits of lore. He locked himself in a room for a month to finish Contact Harvest, it was clearly important to him. When he came back for Infinite it was too late.

You can see the contours of what Halo 3 and parts of 4 and 5 ended up having. I assume Halo 3 would’ve been the flood plotline and the Ark. infuse it with probably Covenant Civil War on Sanghelios?

I agree with this video 100%. This is exactly why I don't like streamers like hidden Xperia because they just don't understand why 343 and Frank O'Connor ruined Halo. They just accept whatever trash is put out by this brand. Bonnie Ross clearly had no idea what she was doing and she could only defer to someone who had more experience than her IE Frank, and she had no one to tell her that this was a bad idea.

It's funny... growing up with Halo I always knew that humans were forerunners. It was just something I assumed all Halo fans knew. It's crazy it has to be explained to people now lol
