I didn't find the engine overheated or anything like that, even when doing a lot of stop-start riding. Might be something to check with Sinnis/ dealership...

The performance didn't really change, the only change was the sound which I think added some imaginary horsepower lol.

@@capo8871 Not sure how you don't hit 60, maybe needs running in a bit? Each bike is different but mine sits at 60 on a flat at about 8000/9000 RPM for me

@@nerdski7345 no cant be that, I bought it second hand cheap af for £500. I’m not sure what it is, but I haven’t serviced it at all yet so that could have something to do with it. It also performs even worse in warm weather

@@capo8871 Ahh right, let me know if it improves or not after a service and if it does, what was wrong with it. Would be good to know if I ever look at selling mine.

As with all 125s there's a noticeable dip in speed/ power but it has gotten over any hill I've thrown at it so far (although none were extremely steep).

The fastest I've ever seen on clocks is 71, comfortable at max 65 though. Not fast by any means lol

@Z3RO This was actually recorded when the bike WAS de-restricted lmao. It hit 40 on a pretty steep slope but other than that 35 was max.

Z3RO get a 2 stroke, if not enough power which most 2 strokes reach around 60 then just get a big bore kit to the size of your liking. Q

Hi, thanks for the comment! Yeah, I only have the multivar installed at the moment however a HUGE issue has turned up from, what we think to be, installing the damn thing. When we were taking off the variator we noticed that the nut holding the thing down was incredibly tight. Had to get an impact driver just to loosen the damn thing! Well we fitted the new variator without any other hickups and things seemed fine for the next few months. However now, two months after install, the bike refuses to start due to an issue with the way the starter motor connects to the crankshaft. The gear that is supposed to spin the shaft on startup has been ground down and spins freely when you're trying to start the bike- so the engine now cannot start. We've been informed that this is because the variator locking nut wasn't done up tight enough, which is crazy to me because we used the impact driver to tighten it back up AND we used lock tight. I have the 2014 model, we're currently in the process of doing an entire engine swap as it's actually cheaper to replace the entire engine unit than buy and fit a new crankshaft funnily enough lol. If you're planning on fitting the same variator I recommend using a torque wrench and finding the tightness spec online, either that or I was just unlucky :(

@@nerdski7345 You're supposed to use an impact to get it on and off, its a good idea to check the nut sometimes to ensure its tight as it spins the same speed as the engine so vibrations can loosen it.

Yeah I've fitted the Malossi variator, it seemed pretty impactful as I can reach about 42mph+ on a down-hill slope
