New Channel Introduction. ROG Z11 Build. ROG Strix B550-I motherboard. Ryzen 5600x
I cant find this setting in my bios. My motherboard is ASUS Motherboard ROG STRIX B550-E. Does anyone here have experience with this and can help? I've watched several RUclips videos and read Reddit posts that guide where this setting is supposed to be. However, on my motherboard, this setting isn't available. Have any of you experienced this? Do I need to update my BIOS for this setting to appear? I could really use some help here.
Definitely, after go’ogling around I realized that Simmy Krotiel’s Bigger Blueprint was modified and you can make it bigger even faster, yep, what Simmy suggested before was pretty good, but the new stuff teaches how to make it up to four more inches bigger
I need to adjust my trC on version 2.21.1278 but there's no trC listed anywhere, is it named something else now?
Love this series of videos man, absolutely in-deph and thought-out content. Thank you so much for putting this together
i have a 5800X3d is it safe to use these PBO setting for that chip i understand you arent really supposed to overclock it
Seriously.. like Seriously stop drinking water. You sound like a fucking river is pouring out of ur mouth. Fuck me you have some annoying videos
What do I do if I don’t have a new version of BIOS (2.16.1240) 2014 - that doesnt have this option enabled?
This is retarded. I`m regretting on buying AMD.
Is it possible to re-order the favourite? Or to we have to delete them all and start again if we forgot one?
Hello what kind of air cooler for the cpu are you using?
I switched APE on, and nothing on my pc would load, and then when I disabled it I got blue screen, I’m not sure if I did something to my HDD beforehand when I cleaned my pc, however I doubt it. Don’t know what to do now
ASOOS. been using Asus for over 20 years. Jesus I can't believe I said that
bro has the sun three feet from his face! lmao tone it down lmao
Hey bud you need more views. This content is golden. I'll like sub and comment on you vids hope it helps.
Thanks for all three videos in the series! I am trying to squeeze out more from my CPU, and they were very useful.
what is the difference between docp 1 and docp 2 and docp tweaked?
thanks for your review, i appreciate more down to earth builds especially air cooled
Thank you for the info
It is A-Suss
Mine doesn’t have it and idk why.
me too did you end up fixing it
Hi !! i set asus ape off, cpu frequencies got a little bit higher but i got strange behavior, like internet pages wont show quickly, task manager dont shut down quickly, feel like pc is slowed a little bit in général, when enabling it again all ok again, so i think better leave it on.
That is dumb, if you need APE than the issue is deeper that.
@@wildcat002 Depends on cpus on intel its better on especially for non k ones !!
😳
Great video!
What happens if I disable pbo and only use ape?
You get more heat nothing else.
If you manually disable PBO and enable APE, then APE can't work. APE is turning PBO on, setting 1000 watt PPT, 1000 amp TDC, and EDC is going to be the only one "tuned". It'll differ from CPU to CPU. So, in theory, the only limit is EDC. But PBO is VERY picky and particular on Zen 3. Now, with Zen 2, you could enable PBO and see higher boost clocks in gaming and everything. But Zen 3? No... it's EXTREMELY peculiar on how you set your PBO settings or you will get less clock speeds in gaming. Sure, you'll get higher clock speeds in 100% all core loads, but if you aren't encoding videos daily or aren't a benchmark slut, then it's not worth it.
Yeah ryzen doesn’t like fast ram the sweet spot is between 3000mhz to 3400mhz.
Great oc video. Not over 30 minutes and it felt safe
Great video! Thank you for helping.
If you like BSOD instal Windows 11
what's your r23 or r20 scores, whats your ram and timings look like. my ram is 3800mhz at 14-14-14-36 with ram on manual not docp. for some reason docp causes whea errors on windows 11. i have the asus rog crosshair dark hero x570 mobo with a 5950x. and with my settings i pull 31k in r23. pbo is useless unless you have dynamic oc available because pbo sucks in multicore thread runs.
i don't know... but i didn't understand anything 😆
U probably know, but just in case, with headphone, u only hear in the left ear. Love ur video, can’t wait to continue the Asus tweak serie
Thanks! Yes, I learned that but only after I finished editing the videos. New microphone needs a tweak to the settings.
Mine is enabled but windows 11 is saying that it's not
Can I enable my asus multicore enhancement on my 11900 (non k)?
I have not done any BIOS work with a recent Intel chip but my understanding is that non k CPUs have their multiplier locked. MCE is a feature that removes the power limits from the CPU. If the multiplier is locked, however, having more power won't boost the speed beyond the boost already built into the processor. Having MCE enabled will allow the boost to stay at the higher frequency longer, this will give you some additional performance benefit at the cost of a lot more power consumption. So, yes you can enable MCE but the benefits will be modest.
Спасибо!
The Ai Tweaker is Asus settings and the advanced is AMD's, I leave AMD's on Auto and use the Asus one because I get a little more performance, I Enable PBO Fmax and Precision Boost Overdrive only on the Asus and all works well with a little more performance than AMD's.
That makes sense that there are those two different sections. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you for the help in making the changes. I used Cinebence R23 and my score went up 1500 points on the multi core.
What happens if you enable both PBO and APE??????????
If they are both enabled Asus' settings for PBO will override the standard PBO settings. APE is PBO with Asus's settings. I tried to articulate that during the video, sorry if that wasn't clear.
@@practicalcomputingbytes2677 Okay.Thanks for the info.
Hey quick question, I don't see the Ai tweaker tab in my Bios, I did go into advanced mode of course. Can this be enabled or disabled and that's why I can't see it? Would appreciate the help!
Hey there, what board do you have?
@@practicalcomputingbytes2677 Hey mate! It's Asus F505DT. It's an Asus TUF laptop
@@gbenedettifr Got it. I am no expert but I believe that some features that are in AI Tweaker are not available in laptops. However, many of the items in AI Tweaker are also in the Advanced section of the BIOS, you should check there to see if the entries you want to adjust are under that category.
@@practicalcomputingbytes2677 I think I can't do it then, I've been looking all over the advanced settings and there's nothing... Thanks for the help!
Keep making these videos...I've been searching for someone to break down the Asus bios and overclocking...I have TUF gaming A520 motherboard and Ryzen 5 5600x...so I know Ryzen master will not work to OC...but I can't adjust my PBO and other setting and voltages in bios...but a little hesitant to OC and mess with voltages because I only have single fan deep cool CPU cooler...so this is great to learn everything...note by note..keep it up!
I could never make sense of why there is that 'Auto' (in addition to merely Disabled or Enabled. This totally explains it.
i have that case too~ so i watch it good!!!!
Nice video. I did some testing enabling PBO and also trying these settings show in this video in the B550-I BIOS. ruclips.net/video/dfkrp25dpQ0/видео.html Applying the undervolt shown in that video while keeping the PPT to 76 watts actually helped my 5600X perform the best in comparison to PBO alone at up to 120 watts. Undervolting is definitely the way to go!
Thanks. I did some additional testing for a follow-up vid but I have moved and all my gear is in a hundred different places. Trying to get organized to get back to recording.
I'm going to help you grow. Love your content and the way you deliver the information.
ugly case , upside down!!!
beautfiul case
hmm this is quite new, do i have to update my bios to do this?
That depends on what type of motherboard that you have. Asus was advertising this early on for their B550 motherboards so you might already have this option available. It might've been a later addition to the X570 boards. If you don't have the option in your BIOS, you can check your BIOS version/date and see if the website has a new one.
@@practicalcomputingbytes2677 any way to overclock a locked cpu? or gpu? or to unlock it?
@@rogim4733 Not that I am aware of. With the newer generation of GPUs, both Nvidia and AMD prevent any real "overclocking." There are still utilities like Afterburner (MSI) and PrecisionX(EVGA) that can tweak GPU performance but it is not really overclocking. As for CPUs, there is nothing you can do with a locked processor.
@@johnolsen1673 :(
@@rogim4733 If you can increase your Bus speeds, then you can overclock. But that's back in the OLD school days of how we overclocked. These days, people are used to just increasing the multiplier. And that's fine, because when you overclock the bus freq, you increase RAM freq along with all kinds of other things that depend on the bus clock speeds. So, you have to know what you're doing, like lowering your memory divider so that it goes to a lower speed, then raises back up with the bus speed overclock. But they might lock that out on non-overclockable CPU's. Depends on brand. Intel did it. Intel locked out bus speed overclocking so that you couldn't overclock non-K CPU's a few years ago. Back in the Z270 era (Kaby Lake). AMD tends to be more for the consumer, so you may have the option, but it MAY cause some serious instabilities if you don't know what you're doing.
A 3rd way of accessing the BIOS with fewer clicks is to choose Start -> Power -> Reboot while holding the shift key. This gets you to the advanced reboot settings screen more directly.
Thanks! I just tried that and it works! It only saves a couple of clicks but it is faster. Thanks for sharing, I will be using this going forward.
I do have a question about plugging a cpu fan into an aio plug. I’m using a splitter with one pwm fan and another 3 pin fan. Both fans are running at 100 percent unfortunately is there anyway I can adjust the fan speed?
Wow, you have a lot going on here with this comment. Why do you have two different fan types plugged into a splitter and plugged into the AIO Pump header? You can adjust the fan speed in the QFan Control (F6) but I don't know if the adjustments will actually work given the two different fan types connected to the splitter.
@@practicalcomputingbytes2677 im using a mini itx MB so my case is running hot i bought two noctuah 80mm pwm fans but they are running at 100 percent because its plugged into the aio pannel. my other plugs are being occupied by my cpu cooler
@@Dreeveryday Got it. This is an Asus board? If so, You need to go into the BIOS and adjust the fan curve for the AIO pump header. The default is 100%. There are two ways to adjust the fan speeds. The easiest is to press F6, which will get you to Qfan Control. Select AIO Pump and adjust the curve. The 2nd way is to go to the "Monitor" section of the BIOS and scroll down to Q-Fan configuration select it and then scroll down to AIO Pump Control and you can make the adjustments in that section. Let me know how it goes.
@@johnolsen1673 yes its an asus board sorry for not explaining that better. so for some reason when i went to the q fan control it wouldnt let me adjust fan speed below 60 percent. so i went into monitor mode and adjusted it manually thank you so much for the help
