devastated because my long ass comment got deleted while i was typing it but-- ill try to rewrite it because this is important this hits pretty close to home and im really sorry to see you having to experience this, you aren't alone and this behavior on your mom's part was NOT okay. it's not your fault, and you aren't faking. as someone who has experienced autistic shutdowns very similar to this i know how scary it can be ESPECIALLY with someone else, especially a parent, making the situation much worse and not providing support. of course, i'm pretty sure this kind of thing isn't exclusive to shutdowns as there could be other things causing it but either way, i understand the experience. it hurts what i wish could've happened for *me* when i was younger in these kind of scenarios and home environment? having some kind of third party like a therapist or teacher or any kind of indifferent mediator to be there and help us talk it out, and see eachother's points of view and experiences. NOT your father though because they are way too close to the situation to be indifferent about it (at least i think they would be, as someone who had a bad experience with that kind of situation too) if you dont have some kind of third party, at least to try to talk to her about it, openly and honestly and try to get her to understand that you are genuinely suffering in those moments. and ESPECIALLY to recognize that it isn't normal to experience things like this, that if you have attendance issues similar to how i've had with this stuff, to try to talk to your doctor/GP or if you have one, a therapist/psychiatrist, about it because it IS important and COULD very well make your life better, to be able to recognize the issues and figure out how to ACCOMODATE them instead of shun them and essentially just ignore them in place of you just 'be normal instead'. there is hope, you are not as helpless as it might feel, and your mother's behavior was *not* okay in the slightest. your health and wellbeing ALWAYS. ALWAYS. come first, especially over something like *school*. please fight for yourself, find someone you can trust to help you feel heard, i believe in you! i really do- because even though life is **rough** out here, it's not impossible and there is help to be found and hope to be delivered
