This channel is an extension of the Culture Consultancy services that include research, facilitation, advocacy and indigenous notions of leadership inspired from the iTaukei intangible cultural heritage as aligned under UNESCO's 2003 Convention on the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Basically the videos and other services offered provide lens into the iTaukei culture on traditional and contemporary issues.

This video reflects the child naming ceremony of the Naboubuco tribe, an inland Vitilevu tribe in the Naitasiri province. The child being name is the eldest. Her parents lived and worked in Suva when the ceremony was observed. The family and elders adapted the ceremony. In the village setting, a child's naming ceremony would have been held by dipping the child's feet into a pond filled with freshwater prawns, their totem aquatic creature. Leaves of their totem tree, the Buaniviti (Fagraea gracilpes) would also be shredded and tossed into the pool as the naming chant is carried out. Na nomu kauta lesu tiko mai na cultural workshop va qo e vakarataika na bibi se na complexity ni bula ni keda na I taukei. Na bula ni loloma, veiwekani, vei rokovi kei na na noda bula makawa sebera na koloni. So proud to call myself a Fijian and uphold my values and culture as a Fijian. This type of revival of our culture and traditions brings so much meaning for us in the modern world. I also live abroad but carry myself with the the very identity that makes us unique.
