I have this same model in black. inherited it with my new place. 25 years old and cleans dishes better than my parents brand new top of the line nonsense. I think id rather just replace parts on it forever than ever get a new one!

Some of the best machines ever made. If you’re out there, looking for another washing machine, really consider finding one of these gyms on the used market. You won’t find a better machine. Unless of course you go out and purchase a speed queen. These machines are simple RELIABLE and bulletproof. Repairs or simple. Folks that have these machines refused to give them up.

I enjoyed it. That is definitely a well built machine. Like the old saying goes. (They don’t make them like they used to). This is why I prefer older machines like the one shown. I just love it.

This video helped me confirm the lpud noise i have is the one forum people describe when the food processor bit is broken, because mine is so much louder when its starting the drain and fill cycles. Every other old forum link is broken from 2005 lol Youre a saint for this I had ZERO other point of reference and the stupid screw is stuck on the old brittle plastic so i need to order a repair kit before i snap the plastic apart to get in there. Got the full repair kit with all parts vs just the one because of your video :D

Just finished fixing up an old Kenmore 70's series belt drive....can't believe I'm watching a washer vid lol. Looks like if these washers aren't rusty they can be fixed, good job :)

I love that washing machine my grandma had one it still works fine she sold it to someone I wished could have gotten my grandma 1994 Kenmore washer I hope find one day

Air bags in those years were designed not to explode and kill people. If you can shoot a large caliber gun without hearing protection then it's pretty much the same sound 🤷

I had one and would stop the deaining and then start it again which put it into a spin drain function.

To bad that Whirlpool no longer manufactures that type of washing machine! They now make JUNK & call it a washer!

Yeah, I like making pot roast on a Sunday morning in the crock pot. Nice big chunks of vegetables and then making the gravy for the liquid..... Delicious!.

Those airbags were ridiculously overpowered... an overpowered airbag makes a more entertaining video, but is far worse than a properly designed one at protecting occupants. It wouldn't be much fun to set off, but I'd much rather go face to face with my 2011 Honda Accord's airbag than this one in a crash. The 1990-1992 Camaro/Firebird airbags caused many serious injuries and even a few deaths. Not to mention, the 1990-1992 models didn't do any better in crash tests than the earlier 3rd gens that didn't have an airbag! I'm a fan of well designed airbags, they've saved many lives and prevented many injuries, but this was not a well designed airbag. The 1993-1997 Camaro/Firebird's driver airbag was better, but the passenger airbag was, again, overpowered and poorly designed. Many airbags, especially on the passenger side, were poorly designed before 1998 when depowered airbags came out, and advanced airbags, on most cars since the mid-2000s, are even better. Before 1998, the federal government had quite stringent standards for how much protection an airbag would provide for people who weren't wearing seat belts. Of course, this didn't work because side impacts, rear impacts, and rollovers were still a thing (where frontal airbags are not designed to inflate), and an airbag designed to protect an unbelted person in a high speed head on collision has to inflate with tremendous force, enough that they can easily kill children or small adults. Let's never forget the engineering of the recent past. Lets keep it all simple.

My 1992 Maytag lasted 26 years. Yhe transmission was leaking oil for about 4 years. The tub seal gave out and I found water all over the floor. It would have needed a new transmission, tub bearings and tub seal and it most likely would have cost close to a thousand dollars altogether to fix. I couldn't find any repairmen to do the job job

I wish we can hear them running at the same time.

hey the washer should not be shifting into spin and then doesent and then fills for rinse that is not normal for the washer i recommend you to look at it and try to replace the motor and timer best advice from me 🙂

Those old school Kenmore/Whirlpool direct drive washers would wash the hell out of clothes, especially when using the fast agitation.

nice washer, why do the Kenmore's not do the switch to low speed where the whirlpools do low speed for the last four minutes of the wash cycle
