Добавлен 4 авг 2024
Beat The Champ Presented By Storm is a weekly televised tournament bowling series. Top bowlers compete for the top prize and their share of the prize fund, and each week's winner returns the following week as defending champion.
Each week's defending champion is the top seed for the stepladder finals.
The season's final show is an invitation-only event for the largest first-place prize of all 32 shows. All bowlers who make a TV show during the season qualify for the invitational event.
Calling the action are Paul Peck and Sue Nawojski. Peck is a veteran TV sports commentator and voice of the UB Bulls football and basketball, while Nawojski is a PWBA Regional Champion and member of the Buffalo Bowling Hall of Fame.

Join commentators Paul Peck and Sue Nawojski Saturday at 9:30 PM on MSG for the Season Premiere!
Show more of Sue, she's looking good.
i bowled next to derrick one time. was like why is this dude wearing his pro gear. he was nice with it.
Derrick u got this always proud of you
Urethane is commonly used among both league and pro bowlers, and Derrick isn't a two hander. His style actually reminds me a lot of Ryan Cimanelli's
Is It On LoAn FrOm ThE sMiThSoNiAn?
Dude never heard of urethane haha
Man, what a great player Derrick.
The average league bowler does not throw it 17mph
She has said some things that are false
Derrick has amazing power to his shot! Great Job Derrick!
Derreck is the left handed version of tom daughtery
Nice channel
Derrick's game reminds me of Ryan Ciminelli except no thumb
Thank you for pausing the bowling while you took a break. I loved watching; that was the only issue I had with you, but now it's perfect.
She is one of the best commentators I have seen in any sport usually I am just shaking my head but she knows bowling and gives us accurate analysis.Firstshot too much room in oil and didn't learn on his spare attempt.Derrick throwing a nice ball we should see him move on.
I agree she's good
😃 I heard the music 🎼🎵🎶and I came as fast as my 🦵😆🦵took me......12:21 String Pins 🤠👍 We have a new 👑 in Greene....May he Reign his kingdom. 🎳
Derrick is NOT a two hander. He's a lefty one hander with no thumb. He releases the ball with one hand.
Thought I was going insane when they kept saying it 🤣
Technically, 2-handers also release with just 1 hand, the 2nd hand adds no additional rotation, speed, etc.
@@roger2941 you've no idea what u talking about lol
@@BressanszRoger is absolutely correct. That second hand just anchors the ball during the approach. Obviously
Not a two hander at all. In any way, shape, or form
Greene looks unbeatable!!
No one is unbeatable
@ I get that, trust me, but he throws the ball very well.
@@frankfelicetta2613 did he say he was in masters is he a pro bowler hes got a powerfull ball
@@MrJdillion hes tough to beat on this show
@@rogerrosen2323 any bum can bowl the masters
What is the weight of the bowling balls
Most people use 15 with some using 16 and some using 14
What does the winner get besides moving on?
High fives😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@@marcnowak4915
Will you ever be in the Antelope Valley California area bowlero in Palmdale or Lancaster California
No. Never. It's a western new York show only.
That Dorobiala fella has probably been accused of being a sandbagger several times.
Those guys sucked. I’m pretty sure my five year-old kid could’ve done better. 230 average my butt more like 130.
Are these guys college bowlers or high school bowlers or really good amateurs? I’ve heard a bunch of folks talk about this but I’ve never knew much about it
They all look awful in my opinion
What a joke.
These one handed traditional bowlers have such an advantage on this kind of house shot. Really high friction. Older surface. Having any power at all or rev rate for that matter just works against you. Much easier when you throw a weak shot with no rev rate
230 averages? Get the f outta here
Nothing irks me more then these two announcers talking over each other constantly
Odd leaves? NO, nothing "odd" about the pin carry, based on where the ball finished.
Same people on rotation and not good shot makers
😕 I know exactly what Dennis was going through. When I started league bowling many years ago I bowled on wood lane with very little volume. Those were the leaves I remembered I left. 😵💫 😐 George could not get away from those splits while Steve threw Earl Anthony shots......🤠👍 We have a new 👑
Did Sue ever bowl on the women’s pba
yes
@@jimward278 I tried searching and it said no results for her name. I know Sue Jeziorski was on the tour.
Surma threw the ball really bad idk what line he was aiming for but he never hit throwing 2 handed down the third arrow is definitely not what he was aiming for. Then later when all was lost he hit the right line but threw it harder so he was never in this mentally. Not a fan of Kress release either I guess he has just thrown it for so long he is consistent but the typical easy lanes I see every week even on the pba tour allows those lazy 5board to 10 board to strike.
Do yall just stop filming after you cut to break half way thru... kind of annoying we come back and they are ahead of where we left off... yall weren't doing that at the beginning of this series.
Wow...there's no way Kress would average 230 on my league's shot. I mean just wow..
I promise he would
Dennis is trash! Hahah
Just say it already; Steve's swing is all messed up. He wraps it around his back and then swings it around, but apparently he can repeat it quite well and it works for him.
I find it hard to believe Ryan averages over 230! He doesn't follow through on half of his shots.
zero chance he shoots above a 200 avg.
same with surmaczewicz he has been on two different shows and if the ball isnt striking he is shooting a 160. the typical two hander if it strikes its good if it doesnt pack up.
@TrevorTheBowler you would be wrong. He Is a very good bowler regardless of his style. He just won a good tournament on friday.
@@TrevorTheBowlerDennis is a very good bowler who does well on nearly any pattern. He just won a big scratch tournament a few weeks ago against a solid field.
@@danielgizzi7706 bet he striked a lot I’m not saying he isn’t good but it’s obvious from his two losses on this show it’s strike or die. Spare game has been on level with mine and I’m not good.
Those lanes are wonky lol I bowled there before I'm from Atlanta but bowled and grew up in wny
That's what you get with wood lanes. Anyone not over 40 has seen very little other than laminate.
@kevinrussell5099 yes... Your name rings a bell in my head I got this idedidtic memory? I swear I've heard your name.. are you from NT?
@@worldsprodigy6953 no, Webster NY
If someone can bowl a 300 game, what would a bowler win anyway?
Probably win the match.
It’s nice to watch different people other then the same people like the pros
Except they keep allowing the same amateurs to compete. This is the third time we're seeing Dennis Surmaczewicz.
@@flaccheI see where you’re coming from but he’s earned his spots don’t you think? Everyone has to compete to make the show. No disrespect
@@Wauloobauloono disrespect taken, I just think they should give more people a chance to compete on TV… not the same people over and over. There are plenty of talented amateurs out there.
Always been the basis for the show's name since its first appearance many years ago, Beat the Champ. As long as you don't get beat you're going to be on every week.
@@kevinrussell5099 I'm not referring to the "champ" that continues on, I'm referring to the bowlers who keep getting on the telecast and keep losing. Once a bowler qualifies and gets their shot to compete on "TV" that should be it... you win and continue, or lose and that's it. Again... just my opinon.
George very lucky
Of course I am!!! Better lucky than good is one of my favorite sayings!! The other is show up, shoe up, shut up, and bowl. Please introduce yourself at the next qualifier.
@@gas3242 Haha! I love this! I hope you are going to be back on the show next time. Was that ball a Honey Badger Teal? The ball reaction was perfect when you hit the range finder down the lane.
@ yes, Teal Honey Badger. I’ve drilled 3 of them.
250 for 1st not sure about the rest
Does anybody know if the champ wins money?
They win a new storm ball
In future episodes, can you please stop the bowling when you take a break and show ads we miss 2 plus frames per game can you do that?
Ryan Crest, a win is a win, but besides your play, you got a little luck. J got a feeling your winning this match.
Hello! I’m from Texas and I really enjoy Beat The Champ. All the bowlers are really impressive. I was wondering if the oil patterns change from week to week or is it a standard house shot. I was wondering if maybe you could talk about that on occasion. Love the show!
I really hate when the commercials make me miss some of the game. I want to see every part of it.
I've been saying this every episode, but they won't respond or change it. i think they can makes no sense
Fun to watch! I wish our local tournaments were televised. Is this on a house shot?
What does the winner receive besides moving on to the next show as champion? Some kind of season finale with a reward?
