I am only writing here as my wife and I are looking for a 'home' church, and I am glad that I found that Hughes Baptist also videos the sermons. To use Taylor Swift fame, and her relationship with her boyfriend as some kind of parallel or "launch pad" to compare with the relationship between Jesus and the Father is somewhat weak. There is no parallel between these relationships. Taylor Swift literally has a cult following; idolatry. She has been accused of promoting witchcraft/satanic rituals throughout her "Eras" tour - just do a google search and see some of the video footage of her performances of this current tour. No more, can she claim the 'innocent country girl singer with a guitar'. She's all grown up now, and the difference between her initial appearance on the 'hit parade' to now, is vastly different. Taylor would claim: Proverbs 30:20 - This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, “I have done no wickedness.” ...yet the videos of her performances suggest otherwise. Sadly, the role-play performances inserted within the preaching are...what exactly? Save that kind of thing for a family 'variety' night, not a Sunday meeting of the brethren. I realise that no group of believers is perfect, as individuals, but if this video of the service is representative of what the congregation is fed, it's spiritual food, then we'll politely have to pass on it, and so our search for our home church continues...
