This shows that if a community comes together to make their neighborhood better, by helping each other. It benefits all. Cleaning up. Opening businesses. Kicking out gangs. The only gangs permitted are clean up gangs. And number one kick out the board members who make the rebirth of good communities out. Vote them out! Get people who care about BP. And a sheriff who cares. Also, put up churches. It’s a shame how much tax dollars have been wasted on the schools abandon. The biggest problem is that board who seem to not care one bit that the community is falling apart. How did gangs get a strong hold on the neighborhoods? Who’s behind that? All questions that should be answered. Go fund me for restoration of town. Many entrepreneurs could establish businesses in the rebirth of a better community. The restoration will bring back the dignity of caring for others. We all belong to ONE race and that’s “the human race”. Let’s remember that and stop eating up “lame stream media’s lies”.

I just want to thank you sir. I moved away 11 years ago but all of my family and friends still live there and I too would move back in a heartbeat if there were more opportunity and development there. Most importantly I want to thank you for stating that you never felt unsafe walking the streets of The Bluff. There's such a misconception about the violence in PB. Most folks are honest hardworking church going people who live below the poverty line and are just doing the best they can with what they have and can't afford major home upkeep. Continue speaking light to truth. You're doing amazing work.

Sucks that ppl disinvested into a place because they had to live near others. These towns all over always start the same and wind up the same. The folks that left will just ruin another place too.

The problem with pine bluff is there if no industry. No one wants live there. Where are they going to work? We seen this happen in Detroit right. Tax dollars bailed out the auto industry and the auto industry bailed. Detroit died and became a dangerous place to live. You can say "White flight" but every time you do you make an argument for reparations. The black people are still there becauseosy have no where else to go. Black people don't have generational wealth like white people. Slaves didnt get 40 acres and a mule. They only got freedom and there were set free with literally nothing. I see a lot of racist on the comments blaming the black citizens as if they didn't know the black citizens were there the whole time. The city crumbled around them they didn't cause it. They are mostly stuck. Guarantee the ones that could leave probably did. You bring back in some industries and younwill see growth. How else are the people going to live?

When I was looking for a place to retire on a budget I saw online incredibly reasonably priced houses in Pine Bluff and I thought it might be a possible place to retire. Then I went to visit the city! OMG! I was shocked. The mall was closed, the main areas were frightening, there was wandering, frightening looking people wandering around, and, even though when I drove by the houses I’d seen on line I rejected Pine Bluff because I felt that this old lady just wouldn’t be safe there! I eventually did settle on a reasonably priced retirement place, but it wasn’t Pine Bluff…….and it wasn’t Arkansas at all!

start a fund for restoring homes in that community to preserve the historical homes, then move into others. Write for grants, explore new businesses and have the city council and county seat actively change laws and taxes to encourage these to come into the area.

The countryside is no longer the countryside no longer.. They're pushing the City out there as well and charging folks city water prices. Now they left blacks to turn on each other till they're all gone so they can come back and revap the area.

I lived in a nearby town of Fordyce in the 90s and 2000s. I had very few positive experiences in Pune Bluff then. I have always had bad experiences in fast food restaurants. Once, I sat in a drive thru for over an hour without it moving. When I asked an employee who was taking out trash what was wrong she just completely ignored me. Eventuality the people in front of me gave up and left giving me the opportunity to leave. I bought an early cellphone at the mall. I went back as required to get time added several times and the clerk said she didn't know how. I would have to drive to a second location in Little Rock to get service. The manager in Little Rock would try to call the Pine Bluff store while I was in her store but nobody ever picked up. I just started driving the longer distance to Little Rock to save time. I have many other examples. The only exception was the Old Navy store in the Pine Bluff mall, which had excellent service. I just started avoiding Pine and driving a different direction and a longer distance to Little Rock for the things I couldn't get in a small town. I don't know what the issue was for sure but I didn't like the experiences and I believe the city sabotaged itself.

The honest truth is once the roof goes, the rest of the house goes. All you have to do to save a house and keep the roof on it in good repair. A Historical Society can get the house declared a site and put a roof on it they are preservi🎉ng the house and other 40 - 50 years while they gain support and funding

THE GOVERNMENT IS DEMOLISHING ALL THOSE HOME TO SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AND LINED THEIR POCKETS. PEOPLE OF PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS!!! WAKE UP AND SEE THE BEAUTY IN YOUR CITY. PLEASE SEEK OUT THE INFORMATION AND GET YOUR CITY BACK.

I just saw your documentary on this beautiful city. Some might take offense but I don’t care. I’m black, born and raised in NYC. I moved to TX 20 years ago. I have visited multiple small towns in TX with half the population of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and they’re absolutely gorgeous. Clean, beautiful homes and have their issues too. And yes not too many blacks live in those same towns. (Because someone will ask). I’m looking at this video and problem is the LOCAL GOVERNMENT. THERE IS NO HOPE IN THAT CITY BECAUSE OFTHE LOCAL GOVERNMENT…….PERIOD. THERE IS AN APPARENT DISCONNECT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AND THE CITIZENS OF THAT TOWN. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE. EVERY TIME AN OFFICIAL SPEAK ALL I HEAR ARE EXCUSES AND BS. INSTEAD OF WORKING WITH THAT GUY. A SMALL GROUP COULD SPOKE TO JOHN AND LEARNED HIS INTENTIONS. WORKED TOGETHER AND COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS. There are actual loans and grants, that will help renovate or actually build a new home. And have a similar program like the pastor.
