So-called scientists perform ridiculous simulations of cosmic events which have nothing to do with real science. Firing a ball bearing into sand can prove nothing realistic about collisions on the moon or anywhere else. Give me back the taxpayer monies paid for such junk experiments.

A petaflop is by definition a unit of computing speed equal to one thousand million million (10) floating-point operations per second.

Μου έχει δε μείνει μια πικρία και ενα παράπονο σε μένα, και στα τρία αδέλφια μου, αφού είμαστε μέλη της οικογένειας, γιατί είχαμε παραμεληθεί, γιατί δεν έχω γνωρίσει κανέναν, άρα γνωρίζουν τα ανίψια μου και η εξαδέλφη μου την ύπαρξή μας, τι στο καλό έφταιξε?

This video was made in the 1980's apparently. The publication dates are intentionally deceptive imo. Shame!

The theory of the moon forming 3 billion years should give scientists a headache that should have been resolved before they told everyone they'd figured everything out. The earliest known civilisation to record their lives in rock art and drawings are found in New Zealand and none of their art included the Sun. the Moon or the stars indicating at the time they were inhabiting Earth these celestial bodies were not physical bodies in Earths sky's. To my knowledge man was not wandering the Earth 3 billion years ago and therefore this moon formation theory is obviously incorrect and asks further questions on sciences ability to accurately and reliably provide the answers we seek. Too many examples exist to illustrate science has gotten it totally wrong and they really don't know half as much as they claim, or they deliberately operate a system of keeping real science for them and fake science for the general public? Impact Craters are another great example of what modern science stands for. There is not a single point on planet Earth, or the moon for that fact, that has proven to be a impact crater after being singled out by 'scientists' as actually being impact craters. Every claim has under scrutiny proven to be wrong and real causes given. From sink holes to electrical scarring all impact claims are in time dismissed as wrong. Yet listening to the science here today they continue story telling but 'bizarrely' wrap it like they're listing facts, not theory.

Ironic that the narrator says that there is no evidence of the Earth completely freezing over. That is because "Snowball Earth" was discovered a few years after this documentary.

Despite being 34 years old this is still informative. While I hate the evolution word, it does show how things progressed. And an insight on how God created this solar system, by causing certain events to happen. Much like baking a Black Forest cake. With all the layers, some soft, some crunchy, and some smooth and melting. Topped with a scoop of Vanilla Ice-Cream.

co2 is the results of global warming, not the cause, global warming warms the oceans, warm er water cannot hold as much dissolved co2 as colder water, , the oceans are an immense co2 sink of co2.

This came out before the oil companies realized that they would not be able to survive and make their billions in profits if people actually acted on reducing CO2 emissions. So none of the propaganda or politics are found here--just scientists without any agenda, presenting the facts they had back then, speculating at an appropriate level of speculation, and actively testing the possible predicted outcomes. If you meet anyone who says "we didn't know this was going to happen," show them this documentary. We knew. The US military started researching it heavily in the 1960's, because CO2 levels had an impact on the accuracy of their heat-seeking missiles--and the military can hardly be said to have an agenda. WE KNOW, AND WE KNEW, back before it was too late to change anything, but we chose to keep on as if nothing would ever matter.

Planet Earth was my favorite science book in high school, and the PBS television series was and still is my all-time favorite science documentary. I now own the Planet Earth series on DVDs which are rare and hard to find. Richard Kiley's narrating is memorable and inspiring.
