Exploring the Internal Introduction 1
This video covers the concept of Emptiness in Structure with a focus on Tai Chi. The next video in this series will cover Emptiness in Energy with a focus on Wing Chun.
After four videos on earth, wind, water and fire respectively, this final part in the chapter on martial forces will be divided into five videos exploring emptiness.
This is the fourth of five videos in the chapter on martial forces. The final and next video in this chapter will explore Emptiness.
This is the third of five videos in the chapter on martial forces. The next video on the Way of Fire will demonstrate using energy to destroy the structure an opponent.
No. I'm sorry but this is not Lung Ying. This is Bak Mei. The opening Salute is Bak Mei. Use of the Phoenix eye fist is Bak Mei, not Lung Ying. Posture upright rather than hunched over(Lung Ying) is Bak Mei. Arms spread out wide and/or space between them is Bak Mei--NOT Lung Ying.
its not a lung ying salute, but in the bak mei salute they keep their feet together
@@dazordragon9273..indeed. My point is that you list this as a "Dragon form". It's not a Lung Ying form.
@@Topshelf22-g2f i mean i didnt list it
Wonderful hearing from some one who can pick out the greatness in Bruce. Bruce's older brother was a master swordsman and there's that story of how his brother beat up Bruce one day just using one arm, his sword arm. A lesson for Bruce from his brother.
Lotta similarities to the Dragon Form I learned in Bai Mei
rooster attack with wings, beak and the claws, are powerful.
What the Fxxk is this shit
Excellent video. I have often used wind in street fights, much to my advantage.
This is the second of five videos in the chapter on martial forces. The next video on the Way of Water will demonstrate using a fluid structure to overwhelm an opponent.
This guy is a clown
This is the first of five videos in the chapter in this series covering the martial art forces of Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Emptiness.
McDojo fake martial artist
This is the last video in the chapter on blending and flowing in the Exploring the Internal 25-part series. The next five-part chapter will cover martial forces.
The next and last video in this chapter on blending and flowing in the Exploring the Internal 25-part series will cover blending with the energy of an opponent.
The next video in this chapter on blending and flowing in the Exploring the Internal 25-part series will cover blending with the structure of an opponent.
"People need to know why I'm falling" I feel like just like how theres a go to term for the fast flashy bullshit demos like "speed cheating" we need one for takedowns that have real mechanics behind them but can only work if they refuse to change their footing to regain their balance. This is a good example. I don't know if you're teaching this as a takedown, but the outside tie is a real and legitimate clinch and wrestling technique. So is blocking the knee. I straight up forget the last time I've seen anyone actually be taken down while resisting with a knee tap. So much more has to be happening to set it up, and even then the knee tap itself is rarely what does it in my experience. That much is usually kind of a fluke. The tap itself is usually a set up to something more substantial like a knee pick, single leg, foot sweep, etc. Misunderstanding of legitimate techniques seems to be a common byproduct of the kind of overthinking common among people who think of martial arts with the "internal" mindset. What actually makes contact with the enemy is a physical object imparting physical force. There's plenty of nuance in the how and why something works the way it does, but the act of rending it as abstract as calling it internal honestly comes across as a failure to conceptualize the mechanics at play fully. Which is a shame. The focus on developing the core of the body, use of the hips as the center of gravity and driver of movement, etc. are all typical of the internal crowd's teaching.... And all also completely mainstream sports science. You will find all of those things being taught in high level combat sports instruction. They just actually work and can be taught more reliably, because they havent been mystified.
This is the 13th video in a 25-video series. I will be doing my best to address these and other points. But it simply cannot be done in a single video. The entire series will seek to demystify and show how these techniques can work against resistance by breaking different aspects down in single videos. The series will be finishing with fighting applications.
@@martialartpathThe fact that you have to *finish* with fighting applications is probably the best example here of mystification. It's the martial equivalent of a "leadership seminar" or "listening session" in the business world. Taking forever to make a point is not a virtue. It's an advanced layman's method of faking expertise.
@@qp9259 Person I'm working with in this particular video is a good wrestler, striker, fighter. Yes, he' is letting me setup the technique. But he's going down because his entire spine is locked up. I'm not going to break his spine and he's not going to resist against a spinal lock once it's in place and have it broken. I'm open to other suggestions you might have to better demonstrate this sort of thing that is easier to experience than see on video. If you have some helpful questions or suggestions for future videos let me know. My intention is to try to show the truth in some of these old ways that too often devolve into cosplay fantasy.
@@martialartpathWhen you put your arms in someone's face they typically move away from them. Him not moving away is essentially the only thing letting you do this. You're basically showing how to fight a completely immobile opponent.
@@qp9259 Video #17 will go into specifics of creating momentary immobility by basing the spine. So that is a good enough point I am dedicating an entire video to it in this series. But please be respectful and have an open mind. I explained he is not letting me do this and I'm happy to address specifics questions. I'm trying to do so throughout this series. Good fighters offering resistance is the basis for the way I am breaking this down. If you have other questions or suggestions you can forward. And if it's a good question that I am not already planning on or have covered I will do so.
Это предварительные ласки? ☺
The next video in this chapter on blending and flowing in the Exploring the Internal 25-part series will cover blending in time with an opponent.
The next four videos in this chapter on Blending and Flowing will explore internal martial art fundamentals of blending in space, time, structure and energy, respectively.
Stephen...I like your videos...I can SEE your not an average martial artist.
I appreciate the compliment and hope you enjoy the entire exploring the internal series.
Did you ever train in Chicago...or near there?
@@natmodugno5567 Never trained in the Windy City.
I’m calling Xu Xaodong right now!
If cannot test and demonstrate against resistance; if cannot be applied in the simplicity of a punch... then what is the point? If cannot show in actual fighting application then it is just cosplay. However this video chapter is on body mechanics and chapter on application is towards the end of video series.
We need Xu NOW!
This is the last video on internal body mechanics. The next chapter of five videos in this 25-video series will be on blending and flowing.
This is the tenth video in the twenty-five video series exploring internal martial arts. The next video will conclude the current chapter on internal martial art body mechanics.
This is the third of five videos in the chapter on internal body mechanics. The next video will be on using the mass of a body for internal martial arts.
My argument is that "Fencing" as a sport is quite different from fencing in it's original form which was La Veradera Destreza & it was neither continuous, nor aggressive. It was more akin to a viper feeling out it's target & waiting for that opportunity to deliver that one lethal strike.
This is the second of five videos in the chapter on internal body mechanics. The next video will be on muscle separation.
The techniques of the form are broken down in detail around fighting application in the numbered 26 video series on this channel on the "Enter the Dragon Form" playlist for those interested in a fuller understanding.
This is the first of five videos in the chapter on internal body mechanics. The next video wil be on generating spiral energy.
I like it! There's definitely a couple different methods of spiraling I've seen, so I'm definitely curious as to what your method is like.
This series of videos is a fantastic break down of this form, probably the most comprehensive break down of a hakka style form I've seen on RUclips
Thank you for the feedback. Happy you appreciated the video.
Keep going!
Very kind of you to share . Thank you , so few do.
The last of five videos exploring internal martial art concepts, this video focuses on listening and sensitivity in martial arts. The next chapter of five videos will explore internal martial art body mechanics.
Thank you for explaining the applications in the form. It helps a lot.
@martialartpath 7 days ago The fourth of five videos exploring internal martial art concepts, this video focuses on internal circles and lines in martial arts. The next and final video in this first chapter on internal concepts will explore listening and sensitivity.
The third of five videos exploring internal martial art concepts, this video focuses on the use of breath in internal martial arts. The next video in this chapter on internal concepts will explore the geometry of circles and lines.
I love this video...One Breath with ONE Beat Cutting in Taking Space with a Weapon (wink) with Acceleration. I sent you a friend request on FaceBook.

Hello I'd like to learn some. Anything learning at distance
Nothing currently in terms of distance learning. But I would recommend learning some striking system like Muay Thai and also separately grappling system like BJJ or Judo as a first step and after that looking into a system with trapping and then start to put everything together. Also Kali/Arnis/Eskrima is a very good system to study going from stick fighting to knife to empty hands.
This is the second of five videos exploring internal martial art concepts. This video focuses on internal alignment. There will be three more videos on different fundamental internal concepts before the next chapter of videos explores body mechanics.
What you are demonstrating, makes a lot of sense to me. As a Bajiquan & Baguazhang stylist & my own mix of many different styles. I’m Australian & I’m working on my own style based on the principles & mechanics of many different styles & the animal movement of the Australian Kangaroo 🦘When we start to practice different ways of movement, how to generate power It is a Beautiful & fascinating journey. I imagine this is what it felt like for Bruce Lee to start developing Jeet Kune Do 👍 I get so sick of people calling anything that is not Boxing, Kickboxing or MMA Bullshido. As a society people have become so ignorant. Thanks this was good 🤜🫷
I appreciate your feedback. Video 23 of 25 is going to specifically focus on integrating animal movements, Yang and life. Your thoughts are jumping to the end of the series.
@@martialartpath Ok mate thanks & best of luck, it sounds interesting. I’ll keep my eye out for them 🤜🫷
