When I drive from work to home each evening, this is #3 of 3 ways I can take through Phoenixville to get to home from working in Malvern. The other 2 ways are PA-29 to the east and Diamond Rock Road to the far east.

When I was growing up in Royersford, the 422 Bypass was a dream. Where you met up with the Walmart truck is near 76 and the Baptist Convention, as I recall. Sounds like all weather tires on your car.
Does not appear to be the best "snow" route.
Steve, thanks for sharing. I grew up in Royersford and had not seen anything from that area since I last visited in 1990. Noticed the flag at half staff and the person with the horsehead in town.
EdGar Toepel Here are some updates: old furniture buildings across from Willies have been renovated and now Corefit yoga/gym is in there, along with Katie Muth state senators office, and a few other businesses. Annamarie’s is still going strong. Burger King in Spring City closed, well before COVID virus hit. Nelson’s ice cream, sadly closed, went out of business, about a year ago. Another ice cream chain, Culver’s, bought the retail store and will open soon. Cheers!
Notice how US 422 is so bumpy, on the concrete sections, bridge transitions. Large chunks of the concrete have deteriorated in spots.
