UP Challenger w/ Intermodal Train Around the Layout
Such a noble locomotive leading the consist! Homage to our Armed Forces Servicemembers and Fun Fact: the men & women of Union Pacific bought enough war bonds to fund the building of a B-17 during WWII in 1943, named The Spirit of the Union Pacific!
8936 was already put back in the service
Hopefully, 7186 will come back when he’s repaired
Like Engine 13-1/2, it's headed for The Last Roundhouse.
It's already running....
Cool video
Aight, who spray painted Neko Arc on the side of the GEVO? 😂. I know of only 3 other weebs who are railfans and avid Fate/ series fans, so I know who I’m gonna ask first lmao.
I had to watch the video again to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I guess my eyes weren't deceiving me. 😂
0:43 it's there and says PILK train
pilk train??
That’ll buff out
I was working on a CB&Q that's a railroad , a fireman on the locomotive, then one day I saw a little baby crawling along the track a baby mind you. And I grabbed that baby, and I flung it into a nice pile of soft leaves. Me well I didn't make out so good. Fractured my leg. The baby was all right. Today that baby is president of Vons supermarket you think he ever took the trouble to thank me, no sir! Rich folks got short memories.
Right!!! That’s sooo believable 🤡
@@readbtl3838 True story, sonny
As a baby, would he have known? Does he know now? Inquiring minds....
@@joeblow4215 yes he knows. He just said ill be darned
🎉
Probably cheaper moving it by road than holding up the main line to be loaded onto a flat car.
@@tarmac2001 It eventually was loaded onto a flat car, I don’t know where it was done though. My friend saw it go through tower 55 on the railcam.
Guess that's a real road train
Hopefully 7186 will be repaired soon
Is it going to be rebuilt at the wabtec locomotive shops in Texas, or what are they going to do with it??
@@kellenmatthews1440 I would assume so based on the route they took. It’s probably much easier to take it directly to wabtec then go to Davidson yard and then make their way to wabtec.
I am wrong, It is going to North Little Rock Arkansas.
What’s the height ? Going to be a hell of a route
@@heavyhaul8621 Not sure, but they had bucket trucks in the convoy to deal with traffic lights that were too low. You can see them pass in the beginning of the video.
@@ronaldrump2771 I think they put it on a flat car for the trip to the NLR shops. It’s my understanding that one of the center castings was bent, so they couldn’t set it back on the trucks for the trip. It shouldn’t have taken long for them to cut the old center casting off and weld a new one on. It’s been a month now since this video was made, so I’m guessing she’s finally out pulling freight again. She laid on her side at a grade crossing near Annetta, Tx. for quite a few months.
What’s up w that second truck that’s hooked to the back of it?
That is a push truck to help the truck in the front that is pulling. It also helps with braking as well. That locomotive is 430,000 pounds, so they need more trucks to control load.
@@ronaldrump2771 very cool, thanks!
@@ronaldrump2771 DPU? ;)
No, more like a manned helper. The pusher truck has a driver, and movements are coordinated by radio.
Braking and acceleration
Well…that’s something you don’t see very often!😯
my exact thoughts!
Question, are they required to stop at RR Crossings?
they are exempt, like crossing a diamond.
Could you imagine the trailer getting stuck on a crossing and then getting hit by a train? How would that get written up??? LOL
Wow! That's not someting you see every day...Good catch!
Now THATS cool
So cool to see a foreign road heritage unit!!
This train, with its sleek design and cutting-edge engineering, epitomizes the epitome of modern locomotion. From its aerodynamically sculpted exterior to its state-of-the-art propulsion systems, every aspect of this marvel of transportation technology speaks to the relentless pursuit of efficiency and performance. As it glides effortlessly along the tracks, it serves as a testament to the ingenuity of human innovation and the ever-evolving quest to push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of rail travel. Truly, this train is not just a means of getting from point A to point B, but a symbol of progress and achievement in the ongoing narrative of human advancement. Sincerely Mr 1.4 himself
Super great layout and train. Joe
Looks impressive already. Great work 👍. I look forward to the progress. For this a sub and bell. Joe
Thank you Joe, I will keep putting videos out as progress is made.
Cool-looking track arrangement at the opening of your video.
Thank you, it’s pretty complicated but more videos will come about it.

May not be pulling 143 cars over Archer Hill like the prototype but this is pretty cool nonetheless!
Very nice, like !!
Very nice 👍
Ronald, is this your own home layout? If so, you need to put out a lot more videos. The layout and benchwork look great and many of us would be interested to see what you are doing. I have subscribed with the hope that you will share more.
Yeah, me and my dad are currently working on it. Id be happy to post some more videos on running trains around it.
