Viking is my 2nd favorite Creed ! have the 250ml bottle… I rate it a 9 out of 10…

So I was able to pick up both a 2017 and modern tester bottle of Viking. And I definitely notice a big difference in smell. In the old version, I get a stronger absinthe note that I love. Maybe the new one just needs some time in the bottle. Cheers!

Nice review I’ve got a decant of it not sure if theirs a Viking cologne flanker that’s different than straight Viking most creeds colognes are nice on quality just alittle pricey to commit to whole bottle

Hey Trevor! Sometimes the cloves just take my breath away (not in a good way). I really want to love this one but I rarely reach for it. I have been complimented on this one by men. Hope you and the family are doing well🥃🤙🏾

Thanks for the review Trevor, I'm a fan of this one, though I currently have it my summer bin as I love it for evening use as on me it's such a unique, light fougere I leapt at the chance to put it with my other warm-weather scents. So many of my fougeres are heavier than this and are best suited for cooler/cold weather. We just wrapped up our move and I got my fall bin unpacked - looking forward to sharing my weekly summaries this fall.

I think this is very underrated

Nice list. I just received the Discovery Set from Les Indemodables yesterday and sampling Fougere Emeraude this morning. Just on first impression, this one, Oranger Sirocco, and Vanille Havane jumped out at me. It’s evident immediately how good the ingredients are in all of them! I don’t have a Fougere yet, this is very beautiful. They are all ‘beautiful’ fragrances, however I wish they had a bit more complexity. Perhaps keeping them simple is what makes them timeless.

What would be good to layer this with?

I bought this 3 years ago because it was very cheap and I needed to reach an amount qualifying for discount. Kinda lost interest in checking it out and barely unpacked it yesterday, since I haven't bought anything new for a long time. This is the first scent ever that I can barely smell. I tried 5 sprays on each arm, tried 5 sprays on a polyester t-shirt, then 5 sprays on a cotton t-shirt - almost impossible to detect anything. Either my bottle got spoiled or somehow I am completely noseblind to this scent. Never had such experience with any other scent. 😢

I think Fragrance World/Abraaj have a take on Viking too. Called....Viking. 😂 How subtle. Haven't tried it, but I like their take on Bracken so it could be one to look into. Definitely prefer the OG to the Cologne flanker that's for sure. SOTM Burberry London, but I was wearing LIDG this morning and the two combined is a trip. 🤪 Very strange...and yet it works somehow?? 🤔 London takes me back though. Pre-pandemic times. PPT. 😆 Is that a thing?

Oh man this is a very solid list! Most of these are already on my must try, and now move up accordingly. My rainy day scent has been Arquiste Indigo Smoke. It has a lovely watery wear, and the smoked black tea is very tranquil.

Drakkar Intense is awesome. Smells great and the price makes it a no-brainer for cool weather. Burberry London has strong holiday vibes. Someone once said it's just the smell of those Christmas-scented pine cones. Now I picture those when I wear it. 1920 The Origin is good stuff too. It's got that cumin note to give it an edge. I believe your channel is where I first heard about it.

Just wore that Ministry of Oud the other day. Somehow seems better when you overspray. Plus my bottle is old so that might be why. Layers pretty well with 1899 too. Never heard of that Jafra though. Might look into it myself. Thanks Trev!

Spot on review. I do smell dry cedar wood and figue leaf on par, the cognac note is subtle yet so distinct and so is the cinnamon. All in all a nice gem from Lalique's

Habit rouge Parfum is my favorite release of this year. Definitely a must try. I also love the edt and edp. However the prive version I didn’t care For.

A word of warning to other Lalique fans thinking of blind buying Ombre Noire. I’m a huge fan of Encre Noire and, consequently, am positively predisposed and interested in their entire line. So when the opportunity arose to pick up Ombre Noire last week for cheap, I jumped at it. I was hoping for an autumn-friendly fragrance. Ideally a mildly boozy version of Terre d’Hermes or a more austere Stronger With You. I was slightly concerned about the cinnamon note not being a fan of it in almost all contexts. But it was either buy it blind or not buy it at all. So, of course I did. Big mistake. At least for me. It’s the first fragrance I’ve had to wash off before day’s end. I’m relatively new to fragrances so take my impressions with a grain of salt. I did not get cedar or fig, as best as I can tell. What I got was overwhelming amounts of cinnamon, along with a kind of rum-raisin thing and an equally off-putting peppermint note. It smelt like the world’s least appetising cough drop or a curry with coriander if you have that gene that makes you hate coriander. I did my best to try to stick with it through the drydown where it got slightly less nauseating but, after 7 or 8 hours I had to bail. All of that negativity aside, I could tell it was an artfully constructed fragrance that was in keeping with Lalique’s unconventional boldness. But, for me, it was right in the heart of my least favourite territory of the fragrance landscape. If I never smell it again, it’s fine. Because my sense-memory of it is engraved on my viscera. Even the sight of the bottle in the thumbnail made me dry heave a little. I’m still happy I bought it - beautiful bottle and juice, btw - and have had my curiosity satisfied. But, if you can, smell it before buying it. If you don’t absolutely adore cinnamon, I would stay the hell away. But that just might be down to my own olfactory parsing algorithm. Don’t worry, I still love you, Lalique. Never stop being you.

Wearing Or Encens Issey Miyake... that is killer for fall.

Eau Sauvage Parfum is my signature scent as well. The elemi creamyness is what gets me every time. I just picked up Ombre Noire on a blind buy from owning Encre Noire L'Extreme, and I love it. A little light on performance, but it's a really good scent profile.

500 fragrances?! I cannot wrap my head around that… Those all sound great, and would love to add a few to my collection, particularly the Terre d’Hermes Parfum. My collection is small(and I’d like to try to keep it that way, but man is it hard to do!).
