Blackbird song cover

Beautiful song of perseverance and hope by Paul McCartney with vocals by my daughter Jessica. Dedicated to my dear Aunt Corky with all our love. Lyrics: Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were o...

how many options for sounds are there and what length of recording is there
This is the original Orba. They are getting ready to release Orba 3 which has greater capabilities and the ability to sample or create and load your own custom sounds. You should check out Orba 2 or 3 on the Artiphon website.
No one tells you how to delete the loop?!? Omg
Badass! 🤟🤟
Santa Claus, please bring this sweet little toy under my tree, it would be perfect as Christmas gift🎋🎁🏅
Please do more Orba! Really enjoyed this! ❤
The loop should be smoother at the end , little rushed(positive critique)
How do you set up different scales? Or can you?
Using the Orba app you can choose between the various maj/min scales, but I don't know if you can do any other custom scales.
@@MrFrenchyge what about modes? dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian...minor harmonic..?
Thanks!
Thank you. Really clear, very useful
What do u have the 3.5mm jack hooked up to?
Just my desktop monitor speakers. The camera wasn't picking up the Orba speakers well enough.
1 second of dead air between loops. Why?
The loop will end at the completion of the measure after the A is pressed. If you press the A *after* the 1 beat then Orba will record 3 beats of silence into the loop to complete the measure. You will need to press A before the end of beat 4 in order to create a good loop without the dead air.
@@MrFrenchyge THANK YOU SO MUCH, makes complete sense. Duh haha
This is a scam
Is this a stand-alone device or does it work in conjunction with a software?
It has speakers and a headphone jack to play stand-alone, an app to swap out the factory sounds for each instrument, and can pass midi signals to recording software. I've added a link in the description.
@@MrFrenchyge wow, that's great! Thanks for the quick reply and great video!
Thanks for the tutorial. Haven't purchased mine yet. Wondering once your done can you export your beat to like an MP3?
It can send audio through the headphone jack like I'm using, or output midi signals to a computer DAW through USB, but you would need a program to record to MP3. Recording isn't my area of expertise, though, so you might get a better answer from the Artiphon forums or an Orba FB group.
Can you make the loop longer?
The loop length is set when you hit the A to end your first record (hi-hat in this video). You can make the loop any length but cannot extend it once it's set.
@@MrFrenchyge also can you add recording on an instrument once you have already recorded it? Or do you have to record the instrument in 1 take?
@@cookahbetsy Adding and removing instrument layers to the loop is possible and demonstrated in the video.
@@MrFrenchyge i was wondering about a loop you already recorded for example can you go back into that loop.leaving the original recorded pattern, but just add a few notes?
@@cookahbetsy Yes you can. In the video I record hi-hat on the first pass, set the loop, then go back and add kick and snare notes on the next pass. Then I add a fill on the toms the next time through.
Is this hooked up to a DAW or are the sounds all included
All of these were on board sounds played through external speakers. Many other voices are included in Orba as well.
thanks so much for the great walkthrough. I agree with many here that the others just assume you already have basic knowledge of how it works! Your video is just what I needed. Thanks.
Really great walkthrough. Simple, direct and showed exactly what you promised. I've been struggling with laying down a few simple tracks and this was super helpful. Thanks!
i appreciate you sharing this! i hadn't known the ins and outs of the main A button
thanks
nice i wasn't sure if i wanted one but this makes me want it. looks so fun and not to difficult to learn
Thank you so much for this. Clear and detailed, so even a beginner can follow it. Every other video I’ve watched goes too fast and assumes too much knowledge.
Thanks very helpful!
Thank you for the tutorial. How do you know what notes you're playing tho? Like can you play in a certain key?
Using the Orba app you can set the key that will be used for your song. Most of the Lead voices use a pentatonic scale like I'm doing here, but there is a diatonic scale option as well.
@@MrFrenchyge Awesome thank you!
That was a really good tutorial. Thank you
THank you (Y)
Thanks so much for sharing this! Great walkthrough. (Also a reminder to folks to update your firmware when your Orba arrives so it's up to date with the latest features and improvements) 🤓
So update app or firmware in any order ?
Very happy 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
Oh yeah. Do you love me? 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Amazing job!
