Blizzard writing at it's best, try to make a character look "badass" by doing something unecessary and have them look like the biggest idiot in the setting. Idk why people say this makes no sense. I disagree! First people are saying Lor'themar hates half breeds. Well it would make sense that 30 years ago he would hate half-humans back in the day because of all the shit humans put elves through, putting them in impossible positions, belittling them, almost executing the entire population etc, but I can't imagine he would have the same hang ups with the human race now. WoW is going through a different phase and letting go of some of that cross faction animosity. But if we were to say half breeds could involve any race not just humans, it still would be fine. Blood Elves = High Elves = Highborne = Nightborne. Common denominator being arcane using Night elf nobility. Also, there's many scenes of those two together due to their plights being so similar. Both dealing with a nobility joining the legion out of desperation and using their people's addiction to magic as a way to hurt those who dont comply. Both joining forces with outsiders to try to overthrow the once beloved ruler-gone-tyrant. Both once more secluded to their own race and dealing with culture shock. When Thalyssra joins visits Silvermoon she is impressed by Lor'themars empathy towards someone who could be considered an enemy by allowing Alleria near the sunwell despite having every right to deny her. Scenes in the book show they both dabble in art together and when they write poetry of their past plights they find comfort in their ability to personally understand each other's writings. While they don't get many scenes in the novels as they arent the main subjects, it shows that they get together for pleasure rather than business. In the game when a large cluster of Horde leaders are together they are often seen together, as they would. The horde is very diverse and they find comfort in their similarities. I think them joining the Horde makes the most sense, since they isolated themselves from the night elves because of their different opinions on the use of arcane in the first place. The blood elves and night elves were the biggest advocates in the liberation of Suramar, but the Night elves rejection shows that their hand in things was more to do with their own protection and less for the actual people of Suramar.....Also Lor gettin dommed by a tall mommy is hot
