I need help, My Galaxy Nexus has always had a few problems but i managed to live with it/fix them, yesterday i was watching youtube like usual, then it would stall, make a loud error sound and "pop" then proceed to reboot (again, this has been happening for awhile but its usually okay after that) but this time it would just stay in a constant reboot cycle, it would load the phone, last 10 seconds than reboot again over and over. I tried everything i could find, my last resort was to safe mode format it (i didnt want to because i didn't want to lose everything) so before i resorted to that i decided to open it up to see if anything was wrong hardware wise and there was alot of heat generating from one chip everytime it rebooted. I opened it safely, i don't know much about this stuff but it looked fine to me and i could even boot the phone the same way without the case, here's the problem, i put the case back on safely, tried to start up the phone again, no answer, and now it wont even show the battery icon when i try to charge it? What happened? Did i somehow absolutely kill it? I opened it again and it looks the same.

For those of you who are doing this but have a verizon phone, make sure you order the button for the i515 and not the i9250. The power buttons are different. I accidentally ordered the i9250 button and discovered this after taking it apart. The internal is pretty much the same minus the battery and a few other differences. Great video! I didn't have any pics or special tools but used an old credit card and a laminated piece of paper for those tight spots as well as a microscrew driver. If anyone needs a power button for their i9250 please let me know!

Thanks for the tutorial. I ordered the replacement power button on ebay and the fix works like a charm. I've already had to replace the micro usb port so I was already prepared to open this sucker up.

I looked at my old power button under a microscope and found that the corrosion was all under the conformal coating. This has to be a manufacturing defect. I could not find any breaks in the surface of the coating.

on my Continuum the power switch is soldered on the MB so this is definitely an improved design.

Thanks for this tutorial! My power button was broken and I still had an old Galaxy Nexus lying around somewhere which was dead. I took the power button out of my old Galaxy Nexus and placed it into the new one and it's working again! Thanks again!

this video did help me so i thankyou for that but i have a couple of questions,my galaxy nexus power button was broke like yours accept when i went to the sprint store they told me it cant be fixed because the power button is connected to the mother board is this true? Or can i do what you did?I would just like to know because the store also told me that my phone doesnt have a sd card/sim card,i have a regular galaxy nexus although the model setup looks way different.Please help me! Thankyou

How on Earth do you do the part at 2:30 on the corners the first time. Mine feel like they're glued down or something, and the plastic rim starts stretching badly with still no sign of it coming off at all. I can do the sides ok, but the corners seem almost impossible.
