A good part of this comes off as hypocritical. You are choosing to put all of this out here very publicly through a lot of social media sites and you don't like questions you're getting. Well don't put it out there if you don't want to get the questions. They can't have it both ways. You're making money off of it and yet you get an upset that people are going to ask you the hard questions. It's actually come across as insecurity

First thing I just want to congratulate the both of you and wish your growing family nothing but health, happiness, and love! As a 🏳️‍🌈 🇨🇦 male Registered Nurse. I was wondering your perspective and thoughts about paternity leave. When you were talking about the night doula you mentioned the need to be awake/rested during the day to be 100% present for Bishop as well as your careers, if needed. In Canada we have 12-18 months (you are able to choose a year or year and half) of maternity leave, for each newborn (or birth, you would still only get 12-18months for twins, triplets, etc.) The 12-18mths can also be divided between maternity and paternity, depending on what the parents decide works for their family. I don’t know much about how it works in 🇺🇸 but think it would be an interesting topic for your second season of Daddyhood. Would paternity leave be something your family would utilize if it were available? And what is the current maternity/paternity leave offered to parents in 🇺🇸 I know in 🇨🇦 maternity/paternity leave is something that is highly valued by parents and is used to prioritize the new addition to one’s family, to bond, and adjust to the newest member of the family. Maternity leave is more commonly heard about but paternity leave is available and necessary for families with only 2 fathers. From my limited knowledge of paternity leave in the 🇺🇸 my understanding is, if it’s available it is a short duration vs the year to year and a half available in 🇨🇦. Would love to hear your perspectives on this topic.

What an Untold Tragedy. If you listen to this closely, it is all about these two men, not about the child at all. And this is the great tragedy - this kid will forcibly miss one of life's greatest treasures - a mother. These two men are pathetic, and are inflicting a great unhealable wound on another human being.

It’s pretty gross that you’re trying to dehumanize and erase his biological mother. He carries 50% of the egg donor’s dna, she IS his BIOLOGICAL mother. Please don’t be resistant when he wants to find her as an adult because her ancestors are his ancestors and her history is his history. My Mom grew up wanting to find her biological father and Grandma gave her hell for it, Grandma died estranged from her kids because she didn’t want her looking for her other biological parent.

There is plenty of proof out there that shows and proves surrogate parents are the fathers or mothers, which ever they want to use. The child will grow up with two loving parents and will receive the best life can offer. Those invasive questions, I’m glad you chose not to answer. Because quite frankly, and first, it’s not their business. And two, I feel quite sure those people posting those asinine questions are clearly ill intended and only meant to ask more stupid questions behind any answer you give them. Having put that aside, let me say a huge Congratulations on the arrival of your new son. I know you both will be amazing parents and you both are so fortunate to have this “light” added to your lives.

I am adopted and talk a lot about this i my global lecture programs. I am a gay man, my brother and I are both adopted, both from different families and ...both gay! My parents later on were very homophobic and not a lot of love in our home. I am a survivor. You are bringing up your son in love and inclusion. Thank you and keep being you!

he does have a mom, that's just a fact. he wouldn't be here if he didn't have a mom. you are just pretending he doesn't. the fact that in one breath you say he "doesn't and will never have a mom" then say "i''m a mama's boy" just amplifies how sad it is that you are depriving him of a parent. it's one thing if you don't have a parent due to death or having to be removed from an unstable situation, but it's another thing to purposefully create a baby then rip him away from his mommy. all for a couple of selfish dudes who feel they have a right to have a baby no matter their lifestyle. men and women are not interchangeable, and kids need their moms. poor sweet boy.

I wanted to congratulate both of you on the arrival of your baby boy and warmly welcome you to parenthood! He’s absolutely perfect! Thank you for addressing these important topics-it's truly helpful. I recently had a similar experience with my father-in-law. My wife and I did IVF and welcomed our baby boy in February 2024. During a conversation, my father-in-law referred to the sperm donor as my son’s “dad,” and I gently corrected him, saying, “He’s the sperm donor; he doesn’t have a dad.” My father-in-law apologized immediately, and it was a good opportunity to raise awareness about how we view family roles in this journey.

You can't erase his biological mother. He has one, everyone does. He'll want to know her one day, just like you know your biological mother.

First of all, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to you both🎉 Bishop is absolutely adorable. Now I’m throwing in my 2 cents….lol I was not at all surprised to hear that followers were asking such intrusive and hurtful questions, people are just crass sometimes, but what surprised me is that your inner circle, family and friends were asking them also. Bottom line it does not even matter whose sperm did the fertilizing. Bishop is both of yours, and will always be both of yours. Do not let stupid inquiries detract from this awesome experience you are on. Colton you would never know that you were a little nervous for the newborn stage, you and Jordan both seemed to have taken to this like bees to honey. All the outfits have been spot on. You’ve got this. Remember babies don’t come with owners manuals, you will quickly learn what works and what doesn’t, no need to defend any action you take where Bishop is concerned to anyone, you are the dad’s period..can’t wait for season 2..

I see Colton being more nurturing and emotionally supportive while I can definitely see Jordan being more strict and authoritarian if necessary.

As a person who is in the lbgtq+ community the biggest thing we face as a family is lack of understanding. I identify as pan or fluid so I’m able to connect with anyone but I’m also a demisexual so I have to have a connection. The person I fell in love with is my wife and people can’t grasp that idea and find our relationship weird because I’m not straight. But we’re just like any other family!
