I heard rich rod wants to hire small school Louisiana tech defense coordinator. Wow. How that gonna work is he gonna bring some small school players with him to the mighty offense big 12 an he tweaks Rich Rod ,. Joke 3. 5 zone which is not far from same defense that got Leslie an Brown fired. I'll be keeping a close eye with what rich rod does with defense. No one will ever convince me to think you can stop an offense when at Least 7 defenders are at least 5 yards of a reciever or an Rb run or screen at the snap. Rich Rod has his own style of ...Im scared. I lay back in a zone an think i can stop your offense.

I have read and heard that RR will have players playing with an edge. Not sure if this means that players will play with greater focus, a little angry but our defense will be more into the game. Over the years, the one guy who brought the "edge" to our football is Jeff Casteel. The guy is 62 years old, loves the game & I would love to see him get the job. Reference the 2008 Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma to observe a defense with an edge.

To be honest unless RR recruits far better players then what NB allowed to play not much will change BUT one thing about RR he always goes out to find great players , but with the Portal nonsense and so many jumping ship from various colleges that recruiting gets harder to do as those players make choices often not in their best interest

I honestly think that some of the players we have on the team could have had better results if they had a little more edge of physicality in their repertoire. Some players think that when they come to play for a top tier program like WV that they have arrived, you have to lay it on the line production is what gives you respect and results.

Nico may stay IF he does not follow Neal to his new team. If Neal gets another coaching job, I would see Nico following him to his new team. Meanwhile to suggest we will compete for a conference championship this coming season seems like a very tall order . It would be nice but very unlikely.

WV had bad head coaches since Rich Rod left. 17 years of low level coaches.
