Ice was at sea where the river is on the video back in 2010. It is melting at a caligulic rate. 2024

Cloudy conditions sailing. Transparent ice (black ice) is hard to see under the small waves. You always look for it. The risk always lives. I have been forced to throttle down in mirror-flat sea due to thick fog. We have no Radar. 2024

The rock we passed became visible in 2015. Now (2024) it is approximately 100m in length.

Just before the entrance of Qooroq valley, I steer closer to the shore to avoid direct sunlight on the next leg of the route. Avoiding diffused direct sunlight. 2024.

Smaller ice next year. This was in 2nd september 2024. 11:30am local time. The strong and visible current is not tidal. It is an underwater ice-melt river, bigger than the visible river in another of my videos.
