    My 2016 CX-5 FWD is at 166,000 km right now. If I take it in to my mechanic (not dealer) and ask for them to change the fluid, are they going to follow all of these steps? Thanks.

    • @Theocdrepairman
      @Theocdrepairman 3 дня назад

      @@alanpower2857 That will depend on the shop. For fluid only change they will not follow all the step. Fluid only change will not change the filter and not drop the pan. If you tell them you want the filter changed they will have to follow ALL the steps. Expect about 1 hour for fluid change and 2-3 hours for filter change. Also they may not wait the full cure time unless you request it. They would need to keep the vehicle over night to let the RTV cure completely. I would also be curious which RTV they would use being not a Mazda dealer. The wrong RTV COULD fail. They may just use an aftermarket gasket instead of RTV which may or may not last

      @@alanpower2857 with 166,000km, at least do the fluid change. As the fluid change will only change about half the total fluid. Do not let the shop flush the system make sure it is a drain and fill. A flushing tool “could” cause damage. Personally I would recommend doing the filter also, but you might be alright with just the fluid change and avoiding the dealer. I can’t really say either way will be good for you. My thinking is if you want to have the vehicle long term then change the filter, but this might be unnecessary. I’m sure someone who works on Mazdas for the past 20 years could shed some better light on this. I do not plan on changing the filter again to the cx5 in the video ever again. Just a fluid change in the future. I have seen some other brands of auto transmissions with over 300,000km and the filter was never change.

      @Theocdrepairman 9 дней назад

      @@emeleon5448 putting the Electronic Parking Brake into service mode is necessary so when you compress the caliper piston you don’t cause damage. If you were to put NEW pads into the caliper without entering service mode you may or may not cause damage to the EPB when attempting to compress the piston in order to fit everything back on the rotor. If you failed to enter service mode and you were to put the SAME pads back on that came off it may difficult to reinstall, but will likely not move enough to cause damage. Lastly, if you fail to enter service mode, remove the caliper and start engaging the EPB with normal operation you could push that EPB piston so far out it could get stuck in the fully extended position. I’m not saying these things are guaranteed to happen, but you definitely run the risk of having damage without using service mode.

    It looks like you might need a timing chain guide. It sure does look like a piece of it is in the bottom of the oil pan. Im dealing with a broken guide right now. After it broke, the tensioner held the nylon in place, and it might have stayed. I think someone turned the motor in reverse, and it pulled the nylon strip down, then took the nylon tensioner shoulder down until the tensioner was barely touching the guide. I've been in the junk yard, and this tensioner failure is popular. I picked this video because I'm also changing the oil pump. Thanks for taking the time and showing us your experience 👍.

    It appears that most of these now available are used control boards. How does one know w/ this type of board which programming option to use? In your case you used "1" but what are the others and how might they impact this process? My washer is GFWR4805F0MC GE Entergy start 4.8 DOE CUFT Front Loader. Thanks in advance. Update: Ok. So I just worked on mine. It was interesting in that there are outward facing screws connecting the face plate panel from behind making putting it back difficult and unaccounted for in any video I had seen. My pulling as suggested by many stripped out or broke the female white receivers on the back of the face plate making it not a snug nor perfect fit. It's outward. I've taken it apart again to try to adjust it and even resorted to place cardboard behind it to push it forward. As well, be aware, the replacement part I received lacked a few transistor plugs so I had to leave 2 dangling. Interestingly enough I was not asked to program in a personality so we'll see. I just started it and it seems to be running but there are some differences that users need to be aware when accessing the face plate. I'll update if and as I learn more.

Transfer case oil was darker and the transmission fluid was much darker as well. In transmission I didn't bother dropping oil pan and replacing filter, instead, I replaced over 9qts of fluid. • @Theocdrepairman

      @@trayvosierroddy8046 I don’t think anyone would be rebuilding one of these, but replacing one could be anywhere from like $1000 - $4000 (eBay used- new OEM) for parts and imagine like 4-8 hours to replace in labor so depending on your area like $600-$1200 in labor. So like $1600-$5200.

    Don't know if you can help with this, but my similar model washer has developed a fault where the door won't lock to start a cycle. There was a short buzzing sound right at the very end of the last few wash cycles, before it stopped locking. After checking for obvious obstruction problems, I installed a new lock but the problem still persists. Do you think replacing the main control board would fix it or could it be something else? Everything I've read and watched suggests it's either the lock or control board.

      @@PJV1201 I believe you are correct in the control board. Do make sure the wiring to the lock is all good and not some how freyed. Also check for error codes it will help u decide if the control board is bad

      @@Theocdrepairman thanks for the quick reply. I opened up the machine to look for wiring issues but everything looks perfect. I even turned the door around in case the wiring loom/connector to the lock on the one side was faulty. Still didn't help. Several error codes showed up: 26, 34, 38, 40, 91, 92 and 23 in that order. All operating controls seem to be working fine, which is what makes me dubious about changing the control board, but I think I'll give it a try. Will let you know how it turns out. 🤞 Thanks again.👍

    This is the best video for this I’ve found. My 07 Frontier with 125,000 miles is doing the same. It’s not leaking oil or smoking, so I’m hoping this stops the oil usage.

    Do you need to replace inverter if you replace the control board and drain pump? I noticed GE has a newer version of the inverter board as well as the control board. Mine spins and fills fine but the drain pump replacement didn’t work so I’m replacing the board next but debating if I should swap the inverter.
