The Gene krupa story full movie.

Just a teenage jive canary who loves jazz and I love gene krupa and his style of drumming so i decided to show this underrated gem to the world. Keep jivin, and throwing down the drum boogie. And always remember be blessed.
The movie's got a great soundtrack done by Gene Krupa. But a crummy inaccurate low budget script the haunted Krupa for the rest of his career. JW Miller❤
It's a romantic and moralistic movie which aimed at 1950's high school kids. The early music scenes with modern dixieland, 50's ballads and 40's style Blues yet supposed to be in the late 20's, are ridiculous. No mention of Thelma Terry, Bix, or any of Gene's first bands and the jazz greats he started out with. If you want to know about Krupa's early musical background - don't watch this.
Krupa,best of the best
Sub en español 😢
What if your wife’s or moms came to your job and hung out wanting to spend every minute with you. Yet these women do that here with Gene, like what he’s doing is not a real job or real work. Ok next time your wife or girlfriend is on her job drop by and spend all day with her, and expect her to stop working and give all her time to you! 😅
That girl played in Imitation of Life with Debbie Reynolds’s and Lana Turner,? A great picture!
1:25:14 - anyone know who the 'piano player' actually is please? I sort of… Recognise… I can't really place him to be honest
This is the video that inspired John Bonham and Neil Peart Stewart Copeland and a slew of others including Buddy Rich who said of him "the inspiration for every big-name drummer in the business". He inspired me to learn jazz and swing music!
Sal Mineo was a talented actor. Too bad his life and career were cut short by a random and senseless killing. RIP
Neil Peart said it very well with out Kupra there would be no Kieth Moon From the Who and with out Gene and Kieth there Peart would be no Neil Peart
Bowen HS alum. Near where the steel mills used to be. The park next to the high school was named after Bessemer.
I have watched this movie hundreds of times since I met Gene Krupa in April of 1962 because of my handicap, my boss figured that if I could play drums it wouldn't touch other people to purchase drums after the drum battle with Jurupa I had the Good Fortune of doing that a couple times a year when Gene would rotate through town on tour between 1962 through 1966 it was really a great opportunity and a great education jwm.❤
Sal Mineo was a great actor ❤ & a hot 🔥 Italian man ❤❤❤

"The Buddy Holly Story" also takes quite a few artistic licenses.
Garbage video ruined by commercials.
Talking about passion, drive, and self-confidence Gene certainly had it.
What Mama couldn't get through her head was that GOD works in some very mysterious ways. Gene's vocation was behind a set of drums not leading a religious congregation in prayer.
THIS IS WHERE THE "OPIOD CRISIS" BEGAN. GENE KRUPA GOT CAUGHT AT THE MIDDLE OF "REEFER MADNESS." SAME GAME, DIFFERENT NAME.
1:06:47 that's some talent to be able to chick the hats while walking around the set.
Sal is impressive, did he learn for the movie or did he already play? I know the drumming is dubbed but his moves are spot on.
Sal studied hard. And met with Krupa to get his vibe, expressions and style down, as he was using the Stanislavsky method of acting. Krupa did the drum parts for this film. (You can see Krupa in the Barabara Stanwick film Ball of Fire, early in the film.) Sal has a memorable role in the James Dean film Rebel Without a Cause.🎉
An absolutely marvelous video about Gene Krupa's talent on drums. He was the very best years ago. This video brings back how very popular Krupa was and Sal Mineo was impressive in his role as Krupa.
Great movie. Whoever played the lead role was brilliant. Sal Mineo? Excellent entertainment - superb music and script. Thanks for uploading.
It's crazy how 2 cast members from this film have such huge roles in Star Trek. Celia Lovsky and Susan Oliver
This is a great movie! Thanks.
Gene Krupa must have been a nice guy, who had a lot of friends. One of them was my Dad.
Mineo is just superb--TY
His life spiraling out of control is so true of those in the performance business. Great film
❤💫
I'm ashamed to say as a drummer now that I'm 76 I had never seen this great movie based on the life of legendary drummer Gene Krupa.Sal Mineo did a great job playing his life Evangelist and former Leslie West Vagrants Drummer Roger Mansour
Sal Mineo was also a drummer , and he was murdered.
Very good acting
Great movie about the legendary Gene Krupa! Sal Mineo was an extraordinary actor, two times Oscar nominee. He was so into Krupas character, studied the body language as well as the drum rudiments - awesome! Also loved his work with James Dean and Natalie Wood in "Rebel without a cause". His early death in the 70s was really tragic!
I was honored to know his brother Julius Krupa❤️
I loved this film, the Life-Story and Acting (etc) were superb; I’d never heard of this great-musician - but he’s now in My Heart. Thank-You So Much for posting this!
I’m enjoying this story, but wanted to say that I think it’s very wrong to try to force Someone into being the person You want them to be - and also to to try being Someone Else in order to earn Someone’s Love. I don’t yet know how the story turns out, but am sad that this Boy became a Priest out of guilt; not because he heard God’s Call. ❤️
i have Gene Krupa autographed photo from the 400 Club.. my dad got it when he was a young man in NYC.
He looks a bit like the young Marlon Brando
what a brilliant movie wow columbia made this a real gem cheers
The American public was lied to about marijuana being addictive. it is not. I don't know how accurate the movie is but if Krupa was a victim of that disinformation - it is very tragic indeed.
Marijuana is a gateway drug that has been linked to psychosis, dementia & many other mental illnesses. It is by NO means a benign drug.
Donna - you certainly never met my sister's ex and a 20-something friend of mine. Both men, 30 years apart, ended up in a perpetual daze from daily pot smoking. But at least the young man has finally found a long-lasting full-time job... working in a Smoke Shop!
Thankyou very much for uploading this movie I loved it An incredible story about an incredible talent Brilliant actors Leading lady so beautiful
Wow
My word! Sal Mino! How wonderful, wonder who else I'll see?
SAL MINEO was my dream guy💝💜💖
love sal mineo love jazz
It'd be nice to see an Art Blakey biopic.
This movie portrays Krupa as a complete jerk: cheats on his girlfriend, doesn't want to marry her, doesn't want to learn music theory, gets involved woth drugs, gets jailed, loses all his money, and more.
Great performance by Mineo in this biopic. Unfortunately, very little time was spent with Krupas band, no mention of Gene's bust up with Goodman that lead to Gene forming his own band, no real involvement by O'Day, nothing of Roy Eldridge or any of Krupa's greatest numbers. What a wasted opportunity to really highlight Krupa (and his band).
When musicians actually played there instruments live!!! What happened??? Why does everything suck now???
This film was called "Drum Crazy" in the UK
