Imagine a scenario where this was the highest scoring dance of the entire event, at 298.9 out of a possible 300. Now imagine that a dancer, against the rules, while covered in baby oil, rolled around on the stage, putting others at risk, including one of these dancers, who was injured as a result. Next, imagine where the studio owner has words with the people running the event about the safety risk on stage. Of course, they mopped it up. Finally, imagine a scenario where the judges choose this dance as the obvious winning number, but the people running the event intervene, as a punishment for the studio owner who stood up for her students. We don’t have to imagine. That is exactly what happened. Even the people from the studio who was picked as the winner said it wasn’t right. It’s a shame that politics trump fairness. They honestly shouldn’t even have judges if their pick isn’t going to be upheld anyway.
