Abandoned Bromine Plant
Просмотров 2 тыс.День назад
Octel bromine works produced bromine using seawater, and shipped the bromine all over the uk, this very large industrial plant ceased production in 2004 after 50 years of production, politicians in Cardiff made attempts to save the works. This brought an end to the history of chemical production in Amlwch which started in 1760 with Parys Mountain Copper Mine. Enjoy!

I take a visit to southstack lighthouse in holyhead and have a very unexpected private tour. I learn a lot of the history and get as many shots I could. I couldn't film the guided tour side of the visit apart from a small section about the lights used today for the beacon. sit back relax and enjoy. Always interesting visiting sites like this 😊
please google bromide its highly toxic it can kill and fast it gets inside your lungs ,, the council have got to get special contractors in to clear the site before its pulleddown
Its actively polluting the sea. What a disgrace.
I think so, surly fish can't swinm in that water, and will it make fish sick if they do swim through? I think it's running from parys mountain copper mine.
It's disgraceful really. This mess should be cleaned up by the company who built it there and the scrap metal money paid for the removal. It's an environmental hazard, effecting the sea water as whatever that is pouring into it. There would be no fish near it. The area should be put back to it's natural state. They take and abuse and leave this mess.
Totally agree mate, it will just be left for years to come too.
If that's the bromine I'm thinking about in the pure form it's highly toxic element Br..
Very Good, well done
Thankyou😊
Gutted I had to work that day . 😢xx
This is definitely in my top 3 of places we have explored 😊xx
Sure is a interesting place to explore.
Thank you for this tour. The house is wonderful. Might I make a suggestion? It would be easier to follow the video without the background music. The narration is too soft spoken for having the background music.
@barbaradouglas994 Thankyou for watching and thankyou for your suggestion, I always believe in collective intelligence and i will for sure take this on board and keep it in mind next time round. :)
Mae'r audio yn hoples wa!
@@hariowen3840 diolch. Maybe ur speakers? Audio sounds ok to me. What's up with it so maybe I can improve next time.
interesting. exploring is always gr8. cheers from the baltic sea:]
Wrlcome to the channel and Thankyou for watching. :)
Runescape music turn that shiddd upppp
Turn up the music more, I can almost hear you
Ble mae'r Hafotty ?
@SteveWatson-v5s it's just off a back road between llansadwrn and llanddona, go through the farmers gate and head straight to the end, the anglesey coastal path passes it also. If you google hafoty medieval house you can get it up on maps, worth a visit. Are you local to anglesey?
Scared of cows ? 😂
I am weary lets say haha I'm even weary of sheep! Doesn't help having bad experiences when i was younger, having them stampeed towards me. And I got chased by a lot of sheep too, some angry headbutting sheep lol. 🐑 🐄 🐮
Cows actually cause the most injuries and deaths to humans than any other animal. Simply because they trample if protecting young, or are afraid.
Interesting video. I didn't know about these types of houses, I don't think we really have something like that in Germany, or at least I can't think of anything at this moment. Another thing is the huge fireplace; I wouldn't have expected that.
We have another medieval house nearby which i may go and explore. Hopefully i can get inside this time. I do love a good old fireplace. Thanks for your comment and watching.
Back when your home, was your castle 🤔 Good to see, thanks.. Regards lads, from LONDON 😍🇬🇧🥇
Lots of great information 😊
I have only seen this place and the documentary families that moved here and tried to live like 1900ss but it seems that there’s no fish left to catch
Very nice, I would love to take my drone for a fly-about on this site but I do not think I could get up there with my disabilities. Regarding your comment on my video today I did not recognize your name at first, I think I have told you before about the overgrown mansion I mentioned in my comment. Looking forward to your next video
@phil-rm6rp yeah it's down a long farm track which will probably be very boggy. I have been their a while back and the inside is beautiful, ill try get some shots through the window today and I'll upload it in the next couple days hopefully.
Mae'n mor neis i weld bod pobl cadw i fyni yr eglwys! Dw i'n hoffi'n ymweld un dydd!
Like all the plants growing near the door, I do like it was the greenery takes over abandoned places again. Shame though it’s been left to get to the state it’s in. I’m sure it was a nice chapel at one stage
Yeah, it's a shame, very interesting exploring these places and reading up on the history of the methodist chapel ect.
Would love to see it restored to its original state 😢
Same, I don't think it will be standing much longer tbh it's falling apart.
Beautiful. Sad to see it in such a state.
Is this the Capel Salem depicted in the painting. Pentre Gwynfryn? Keep up the good work. Very enjoyable. Thanks
No, this chapel is based in a little village called Arthog. In a painting? Thankyou :)
Salem is a painting of 1908 by the English painter Sydney Curnow Vosper, depicting a scene within Capel Salem, a Baptist chapel in Pentre Gwynfryn, Gwynedd, Wales. It is noteworthy as a depiction of Welsh piety, the traditional Welsh national costume, and for a contentious belief that the devil is depicted within it. Mass reproductions throughout the early and mid 20th century ensured that the image became famous throughout Britain.
@bangordragon1 very interesting, I've just looked it up, the lady in the paiting her left elbow was said to be the devil, a face can be made out. This chapel may well be worth a visit sometime. :😀
Willow sent me here. This is a awesome vid❤
Thanks for watching buddy. Is willow a subscriber? Or do u mean sent you to the quarry? :)
Nice .
@@donwright3427 Thanks. :)
This guy is definitely on tracks! I even think he might have a little "track problem" if you get my gist! 😂
@@bend3rbot I get ur gist! Lol
NO SHEET SHERLOCK.....THANKS CAPTAIN OBVIOUS
I'm going there Friday. Where abouts did you get down to it? I heard the main door to get inside was locked earlier this year but obviously not 😂
The main entrance is locked mate, email me you should find the email on my profile and I can show u on google maps later when I get home from work. Theirs a way from the quarry side.
Cool overgrown tracks 😊
Yeah, very difficult to walk up though lol. The whole quarry has tracks dotted everywhere
I wish I lived in Wales. I'd be out exploring every day! Great video. Thanks.
Anglesey is a peaceful place to live. We're are you from?
@@ExploringWales Florida. It's not so beautiful and there are so many people here that there a few wild places to explore.
Florida is a beautiful place but for different reasons like Anglesey I guess, everywhere is diffrent. After living on anglesey my whole life I don't think I'd cope in a massive populated area, I'm so used to quiet small villages ect lol. I'd love to visit florida one day though and explore the area.
Wow you actually had nice weather. My knees were wobbling watching you go along those ledges and I actually ducked my head when you were going through that tunnel. Really awesome video, I used to go there at night light painting but not that high up. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next adventure. Wendy 🏴
I'm surprised I went along the edges lol I'm not a big fan of hights hence why I didn't go too far up the ladder. Thankyou for watching again and again 😀. Can I ask what's light painting?
Gutted I wasn't with you on this one ❤
It’s in a lovely location right by the water there 😊 love old stone buildings like this
It is a beautiful location, I love exploring along the costal paths and finding these building :)
Where you filmed the intro would be a great screensaver . 💯
It sure would, I may put it as my youtube picture later on.
You have so many cool places to explore. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, theirs lots of interesting places around here. Thankyou for watching:)
Nice! Thnx

Im glad you both enjoyed the video, shame I couldn't get inside but it was still a great explore. thankyou both for watching my videos.
I'm sure I've seen a film based on those ruins. .I could possibly be wrong though Either way thanks for the video
You probably will find documentaries ect, I'm not too sure if theirs a film based on this site, if their is I'd like to watch it. Thanks for watching again :)
