My First Sign of Our New Eaglets
Our wonderful old eagles, George and Martha have done it again. This is my first glimpse of the 2023 babies. The babies are really tiny, but you can just see their little heads popping up for food. Hopefully, the Snow Birds won't scare mom off the nest.

Some interesting comings and goings. At one point, one of the adults arrives with a bunch of grass or seaweed, I guess ensuring the chicks get their greens. Then, a bit later, food arrives. Still windy and the chicks are pretty hunkered down.

It is increasingly windy through this video and the chicks are pretty much keeping their heads down and waiting for George to bring them food. Martha is keeping a close eye on them. Beautiful day at Point Holmes. Hope you enjoy the video and the day. Tim

Day two of video of our little family. Amazing how they are growing. Sorry for the shaking to start but it settles down quickly. Not a perfect focus, sorry for that to; a work in progress. I find it relaxing in these strange times to just sit and watch for a while. Hope you enjoy. Tim

This is a short video showing one of our local eagles at Point Holmes on Vancouver Island with two chicks in the nest. You can clearly see the chick on the right of the eagle, but if you look closely, you'll see another chick to the left of the adult. These are very young chicks. The picture is shot with my Canon TG5 connected to a spotting scope using a Novagrade connector. Hope you enjoy it.

Upstream wind- river running right to left- RIGHT hand single spey. Downsteam wind - river running right to left-LEFT hand double spey. Both casters are throwing backwards. It is essential to be able to throw the double and single spey off BOTH shoulders.

ruclips.net/video/qIGuPcwR0yk/видео.html 6: 20 Young Aleksandrov Red Army Ensemble - Eaglets learn to fly (Aleksandrov Red Army Ensemble, RIP) Lyrics: Eaglets learn to fly, Sound of the surf salutes them, Blue sky reflects in their eyes, Nothing scares them Eaglets learn to fly. Eaglets learn to fly, Flying straight to the scarlet flame of the sun, And then falling like a stone down to the rocks, And, starting life again, Eaglets learn to fly. It’s not easy to argue with height, It’s even harder to be implacable, But life is called the struggle for a reason, And it's too early to command "dismiss", fight, fight, Eaglets learn to fly. And, somewhere in the nests, birds whisper, That it doesn't take long to crash oneself. So it is hardly worth the risk, Eaglets learn to fly. Eaglets learn to fly, In the distance, almost indistinguishable, Years are like mountain peaks, And it's not so easy to conquer 'em, Eaglets learn to fly. It’s not easy to argue with height, It’s even harder to be implacable, But life is called the struggle for a reason, And it's too early to command "dismiss", fight, fight, Eaglets learn to fly. In the sounds of disturbed horns, It is heard that tomorrow storms will be harsher, Well, we are used to it, Eaglets learn to fly. Eaglets learn to fly, They will be able to meet grief, To raise the dawns on their strong wings, They will be able not to die, but to win, Eaglets learn to fly. Eaglets learn to fly.
