The sonics are exquisite and the playing sublime. I actually attended Alicia de Larrocha's recital here in Denver about 1990. I am an amateur pianist with a great ear but limited talent. I was studying this piece in earnest, and then SHE played it so stunningly beautiful on her tour. People in the audience were awestruck as to the tonality of Montsalvatge, someone i have admired for decades, as well as her limitless talents. Sidenote: Got to meet the mentor [Alicia herself] after the recital, thanks to an invite from a friend in Palma de Mallorca who had taken classes from her...maybe Frank Marshall Institute. And then you come along and also play it so regally, with poise and expression. YOU made my day. Saludos desde Denver, CO, Estats Units!
