Im not a big fan of the metal board component, however this is a GREAT and clear detailed guide to build it. Kudos to you for making it so easy to follow.

Good lord Chris! I have just finished unboxing and assembling everything. The amount of care and detail that went into everything shows a lot! It's simply such a treat to see everything come together. The production on the game is beyond anything I've backed before, considering how much this was, I'm surprised you are breaking even! Just got my copy. As I have not unboxed it yet, I have a question. Does the game come with complete cardboard components that I can play a game without assembling the metal parts?
If you have the Founder's Edition, then yes. If you have the Collector's Edition, then no.
Is there a guide on how to fit the regular version in the box?
There is not. We'll see about creating one and posting it on BGG.
Hab jetzt die Anleitung mehrmals durchgelesen und muss sagen dass die für mich leider nicht gut geschrieben ist. Abgesehen von ein paar Schreibfehlern ist nicht alles eindeutig. Schade Mal demnächst schauen wie das Spiel selbst ist. Am besten erst im Solomodus.
This video was a HUGE help thanks for making it! Also little warning, if you are like me and like punching stuff out and getting started, you might want to watch this video all the way through first 😂. I just wish all my extra cardboard and expansion had a home that wasnt a baggie. But overall everything fit including the expansion. Well done!

Just got my copy here in the Netherlands, took some time to assemble but it was fun and it was very easy after watching the video. Great dummy proof video, now I am looking forward to playing the game hopefully it is as awesome as the components! (IKEA should hire you to make some dummy prove assembly videos ;) )

What are the extended tabs on the left for? Looks like something connects to it.
They hold your two inactive Transmuter Tiles during play.
I watched the full video through once to make certain I understood it all and then played it through to guide me step by step through the first build. Your explanation made this all work smoothly! It was really difficult to get the sliders to slot into the top tray and then fold them together. Also, why does this video have so many ads?
That is indeed the most difficult part. Unfortunately, we don't have any control over ads on RUclips, otherwise we would remove them from this video.
@@BellowsIntent You can turn off monetization [ads] for any videos you've already uploaded. Go to RUclips Studio. In the left menu, select Content. Next to the relevant video, click Monetization . Click Off in the monetization drop-down menu. Click Save.
@@BellowsIntentJust as a thought if you break some of RUclips’s guidelines and get it demonetized it could work.

Yes, we hope that it will be online in the next few weeks. That said, the video from February 2023 is still 95% accurate.

Thank you for the detailed and easy to follow instructions for how to assemble the metal trays! After building the first one, the other 4 were super simple to put together. I appreciate how well organized and simple the instructional video was!

I am so hyped for this!! I have never seen mechanical metal parts taken to this level of design in board gaming (Apart from Return to the dark tower... that's another beast entirely).. I am loving this dedication to the tutorial! I am receiving VFI shipping updates, and should arrive today in Hong Kong !! Scheduled to table this on Sat already!

Will these player boards be available at some point in the future as an upgrade for the core set?
We evaluated that early on and decided not to offer the mechanical player boards as an upgrade to the Core Edition of An Age Contrived, at least not for the first printing. The main reasons are that (a) it would be an expensive upgrade to manufacture and sell and (b) the mechanical player boards will not fit in the box of the Core Edition, so would need their own storage solution. It’s possible that will change if there is strong interest in such an upgrade after the game is released, in which case we would probably offer it as part of a new crowdfunding campaign.
This game will launch to the moon once more people see and hear about it - congrats dude!
so while not its intention....will the stronger springs allow me to....entertain myself at my opponents expense without risk of harm to the opponent or mechanical board? yes, im that guy lol. also thanks Chris, been fun talking you in the comments and these look amazing
Mike, you can certainly use the stronger springs if you prefer them, and that will not risk damage to the player board. However, we cannot endorse firing energy tokens at your opponents. Thank _you_ for your support on this project. We're excited to be getting your copy into your hands in a few short weeks.

It would have been much better to have a slight recess and thin inlays, rather than stickers, as any gunpla builder could tell you, but this doesn't seem too bad.
You're right about that. We tried to use an inlay instead, but the requirements of the sliders made that impractical. The logic why will probably be apparent when examining these player boards in the flesh.
Well, the stickering part is already giving me heavy anxiety and it's still a month or so before my copy arrives
It's not too bad, and the sticker is the piece that matters the least in this whole assembly, since it's mostly covered during gameplay by your row of Transmuter Tiles. That said, each character does come with two stickers in the box, in case you are _really_ unhappy with the placement of one.
Use tweezers on either side to hold them while you align the sticker. I'm going to use the "columns" for alignment initially vs measuring 1mm from either side. lol
