how to hang 16mm film on an AFW style drying rack from a lomo spiral
You're doing the Lord's work
Hello.. do I actually need the other circle black part to catch the film? I also see urs come with one
Do you mean a nb lack take up spool? Yes! Same as the on the film came on. Any lab should be able to supply you with one
Ok last question .. when u record on your k3.. does it flicker while recording through the eyesite? Im worried about this that it might actually look like that on the video when i get it processed
yes, it has a proper mirrored shutter, so the viewfinder will flicker. That is normal.
@@richardtuohy8214 omgggg thankk youuuuu lmaoo it just feels like im doing everything wrong.. im so used to super 8.. it even says “exposed” when ur done recording to let u know everything has been recorded.. with super 16 its more hands on so im just sitting here nervous as ever waiting for my film to come back lol i hope everything came out right
@@richardtuohy8214 also i was worried because super 8 has a mirrored shutter too and it don’t flicker.. u are a life saver brother!
Do you need to load it in the dark? Or can the 16mm Film beginning see the light?
Load in the light (normally your film will be on a daylight loading spool). Once you are happy the load is correct, put the door back on and shoot for five seconds. Now you are ready to start filming
yes, can load in the light!
Thank you! I am ordering this camera soon and this really helped. It was a bit hard to see the claw part, but ill watch it again
Wonderful to see home made racks and devices!
Sprocket holes were up, not down in the groves...
Hi Michael, sprocket orientation is not that important. All that matters is emulsion orientation. You want the emulsion facing out. It doesn't matter what happens with the sprocket holes. The sprocket holes can be up or down depending on the pre-loading history of the roll. Most of the time one is dealing with camera film that is tail out prior to loading. But there are other possibilities. For instance, if the film you are developing was exposed on a film printer rather than in a camera. Or if you had to rewind the film for some reason and it is now head out. If the emulsion is facing out, that is all that matters.

Been looking for videos similar to this for a little bit now thanks for posting them up how do you go about scanning your film? And are you developing the film the same way as c-41 process I finally have a lomo tank so I will be developing hopefully within a few weeks
HI Richard, you certainly can use C41 for ECN films. Slightly more contrasty, but not noticeable. It is fine. You do need to add a rem-jet softening stage at the start. You can use borax for that, or mix the official kodak ecn prebath.
