Tide'n'Seek
Великобритания
Добавлен 27 дек 2020
Welcome to the Tide'n'Seek sea angling channel.
I focus on beach fishing in the southeast of England, mainly from the Kent area although I will from time to time visit other areas in the UK to fish from.
I am a novice angler learning the sport just like many others, which for some people might help inspire confidence in getting out there and having a go. My aim is to do my best on my limited budget and show you don't need the most expensive gear to catch fish.
I will keep in mistakes I make and share the tips that I learn along the way.

My best trip so far | Fishing the Kings Hall, Herne Bay
Got a call from young Michael: "wanna go fishing?"
"what time is high tide?"
"2am"
"yeah why not"
and so we did.
Equipped with bluey, squid and pulley pennel rigs Michael and I ventured to a spot just right of the Kings Hall in Herne Bay.
it was cold, windy and raining, did it stop us? did it F#@k
my apologies for some of the sound and camera quality it was filmed on two different phones one of which (mine) has been beaten up by my lovely cat Fritz.

Dab Sandwich anyone? (Fishing at Sandwich bay)
Просмотров 3222 года назад
After a few local reports Michael and I decided to head down to Sandwich bay to try and catch some flatties. weather was pretty good considering its the middle of winter, although the wind did pick up a bit we battled through and managed to catch a few fish.

sorry I've been absent for so long but, life happend. not much excitement in this video but it was a fun little session down at Bishopstone Glen with Michael. high tide was 4.7 m which is about normal for herne bay.
and this is why it's "Fishing" not "Catching"

The wind let up for a day, so fishing was on the cards. I was desperate to get down the beach after a very busy few weeks and this is what happens. BLANK!! I enjoyed the session nonetheless, but I was really hoping to at least pull something out the sea. Music: www.bensound.com

1st Beach session in 2021. I messed up my tide times, I thought it was 2.20pm but in reality it was 12.20pm, had to rush down and I didn't even forget anything. bait was white bait and Sandeel, I didn't get chance to dig any worms I wish I had though. Hey Folks This session was at Minnis Bay in Kent, UK My god was it cold 🥶 I have to apologise for some of the audio In this vid, it was a northern wind blowing directly in my face and as such I couldn't help catch it in the mic (02/01/2021)
Fishing at Reculver

My first upload !!! This was a 3 hour session Michael and myself went on at Reculver in Kent (UK). We were going for some Flounders or Dabs but ended up with about 10 whiting and a rockling. All of the fish went back, we wasn't looking to keep anything this time. noticed that the music fade in the video for some reason messed up so apologies for the "Jankyness" (yes it is a word) :) Music: Musi...
I could hardly contain my apathy.
Lmao, that's fair enough tbh.
Have you fished Kings Hall lately? I’m down next week and trying to get some local knowledge. Thanks
Honestly I've not been out for months. Local reports have mentioned the odd thornback coming out. So if you do I would recommend bluey or mackerel, last year I did manage a few dabs also
Sorry to hear you’ve not out. Thanks for the info
what part of herne bay was this?
Just watched as I’m planning to get down that way next week and I’ve never fished it before and found it helpful, thanks. Not seen anything from you for a while, have you given up fishing or just filming?
I'm glad the vid helped you out mate and good luck. I've not given up on either I've just had so much going on I'm struggling to find time for anything. I love making the videos so will get back to it.
Rather hoping you had posted another Herne Bay video so I could see how it’s fishing as I’m down there for 4 days next week and hoping to fish every tide (wind direction and seaweed permitting).
Unfortunately my Phone camera is broken atm so my videos have been put on hold. However I went down for a 2 am session the other day and there was plenty of activity. Thornys, whiting (fairly large too) and doggies. Also fished better up to and at high tide the ebb (which I usually find a little more productive) dropped off. Also wasn't much weed about
Sorry to hear about your phone. Thanks for the info.
Well in pal
Cheers matey. I am trying to get back out for some more but I have a kidney stone that needs sorting. Not fun.
@@tidenseek6539 yes mate no good fishing in pain look forward till your content after your sorted I follow you on Instagram aswell and enjoy your videos.
@@themoocher3772 I really appreciate your kind words. I have loads of ideas for new videos in the pipeline so watch this space.
Fished there a couple of months ago. Good little mark especially when you can park at kings hall, means not carrying all tackle for miles to get there.
Definitely, otherwise you end up by the stairs and that is a killer on the legs haha.
poor fish
Are you a teacher?
Well done mate, I caught my first ever thornback last year so I know that feeling well. 🙌
Thanks mate, I was made up. Got the bug now though 🤣
@@tidenseek6539 im wanting another one as well. Good luck mate 😄🙌
@@FISH-OHOLIC cheers bud and good luck to you too 👍
You cut out the bit of you asking for my gloves cheeky shit 🤣
Don't know what you're on about mate. 🤣
Luvly Jubly Martin mate big up to Kent!!!!👍👍
Cheers Mick. probably not that exciting to most anglers but seeing as that was only my second time catching Thornbacks I was well chuffed 😀 👍
Good feeling when you get your first thornback. I was the person fishing next to you last night who weighed for you. I never caught nothing in the end. Out of all those people fishing last night only a few rays caught. I did hear that someone had a sizeable plaice fishing worm baits in front of the sailing club.
I really appreciated the help last night, I pretty much forgot how to human because I was so excited lmao. Sounds like I lucked out then last night considering how many people there was. Thanks again mate hopefully see you down there again soon.
@@tidenseek6539 Thats ok i am always happy to help anyone out. Even tho i never caught nothing it was good sharing the moment with you catching your 1st thornback. I was very surprised there was not alot more caught being small tides. I shall try again friday night same location. Yes hopefully see down there again soon. Tight lines
Couldn’t see, did you catch on your old rod or the new one?
I caught one on each. Though the bigger dab was on the new rod.
great session boys well done . good to see some fish about your end chap . take care boys
Cheers Tony mate. It does make a change lol
Good to see you safe Martin matey 🙏👍👍
Thanks Mick, I'm just glad to be back out there doing what I love most. Hope you are well also 👍
I’m watching
Thanks my dude
Good video Martin can’t wait to go again ! ! !
Was nice to get out weren't it
@@tidenseek6539 it sure was I’ve just spent 3 hours going through all my stuff haha
My dads just moved to herne bay ....any tips where to fish and what’s about in that area ? Thanks
At the moment there are smooth hounds, rays and the odd decent bass around the Kings Hall up to Bishopstone Glen. However the weed can be a nightmare.
Nice one Martin mate proper real view👍👍
I think its important for people getting into the sport to understand that you don't always catch. Also that enjoying fishing isn't just about hooking into a monster fish but just being outdoors, rig making, learning etc. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it 👍
I can't agree more buddy👍
Another quality video buddy. Enjoyed the underwater shot with the clear water. Perhaps a follow up video to review those sausage rolls?
🤣🤣 they were yummy mate
I fished Ramsgate western undercliff on Thursday night into Friday morning, ended up with 17 dogfish and 9 schoolie Bass to a pound and a half. I'm surprised at how clear the water is after all the NE wind we've been having. Time for me to dust off my spinning rod and target some Bass on lures.
I want to give it a go, but I only have my beach caster stuff. 17 doggies sounds like you hooked into dogs trust lol
@@tidenseek6539 I knew I was gonna get a fair few dogfish, cos 1 bloke had 14 in daylight from Ramsgate east pier
@@bazontherocks7159 those crazy dog fish, they just don't care do they 😂 Personally I still really enjoy catching doggies, maybe that will change after my 200th
Nice video mate when you next out
Thanks mate, probably next weekend 👍
Cool video bud. Grats on the 100 subs :)
Cheers my dude. Looking forward to making some more videos 👍
Can't wait to see what you'll catch

Cumbria pal
@@themoocher3772 sounds like I have a holiday to book lol
@@tidenseek6539 Yes we will have to speak over Instagram pal
Good vid pal
Your ray will come sooner or later Martin. Must be frustrating when you keep trying and everyone else catches the target species except you, makes you question yourself. From what I can see, the baits look good, the rigs look fine and I've seen in previous videos that you can hit a fair distance on your cast if you need to go longer to locate the fish. P.S. Your mate that had the thornie is going to lose a lot of fish retrieving like that. Needs to pump and wind down under tension, he is pumping then dropping the rod tip before winding, giving the fish loads of slack line. A big Bass doesn't need any excuse to drop a hook. Keep at it Martin, and I reckon you will have a thornie on the beach in the next couple of sessions
Cheers mate appreciate your comments. Yeah I feel that I've just been a bit unlucky with the rays so far, I'll keep at it I'm sure I'll pick one up soon.
You will get one i will make sure you do
Cheers mate, we will have another cracking at it soon 👍
@@tidenseek6539 yer mate defo
You need to go to Reculver for rays
Yeah it's on my list mate, going to have a go this week coming

I thought ya was Hugh Fearnley Wittingstall for a minute there lol
🤣🤣 except I can't cook for my life lmao
Blow lug= 10 mins, tops
Yeah I'm slowly learning my lesson leaving bait out too long.
Trevor is a legend round these parts :)
When I grow up, I want to be like Trevor..... they say he is still fishing to this day 🤣
is he married ,,,,just something that crossed my mind.
I know its hard to believe but pretty much, this fugly guy does have a woman in his life 🤣🤣
I’ve fished Hampton Pier a couple of times with no success. As a local, which I’m not, why do you fish east of the town rather the Hampton end?
Never really had much luck Hampton end. East Side produces the rays and smooth hounds plus most other local species.
Nice one mate
Cheers Ryan, obviously used all my bad luck on our fishing session 😂
Well done 👍
Cheers mate 👍
Good man 👍👍
Thanks mate. 🙂
Well done on breaking the blank with the Whiting and small Bass, hopefully a sign that things are starting to improve. 1 little tip for you for future reference, try green and black beads for flatties (sequins and other bling is optional), they imitate pea mussel which are a favourite food for Plaice.
Ah I always wondered why people went mad for green and black. Thanks for the tips as always Salty 🙌
you all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Emanuel Aydin instablaster =)

I follow u on Instagram aswell u seem good dude keep these videos up ule soon have thousands of subs.
Thanks very much pal, I really appreciate that, you have made my day 😁. I just need to catch some fish now 🤣. Stay safe mate.
Shame about the blank, keep the videos coming 👍👍 tight lines mate
I don't know what the hell im going to do when I actually catch a fish 🤣🤣
When targeting flatties in calm conditions like that, I would recommend having your rod tips lower, only reason to have them up high is to stop the swell rolling along your line in bad weather, which will drag the lead into possible snags. Having your rods lower also puts all 3 hooks on the sea bed, increasing your chance of a flattie. Warmer weather this coming week as the wind swings round to the south, so hopefully the change of weather will bring a change in the fishing. Hope this helps Martin, and tight lines
Thanks for the tips Salty, they are very welcome. I think I'm gonna have to keep a note book as I know what my brain is like 🤣
